Making a mistake happens, but you look like a real goober when you correct somebody but you’re wrong. Bluegrass music is deeply rooted in Celtic music. You should watch the Emmylou Harris documentary on these Celtic origins in Appalachia for Bluegrass.
It's not hard to turn anything into Bluegrass. You just need acoustic guitar mandolin and a fiddle and or banjo.

Just a few days ago I learned of the existence of this amazingly talented group of young people. Their songs have been stuck in my head since then.
Before I found The Petersens online I thought all bluegrass sounded the same after about the third or so song. But I could listen to them for hours and every song is a new surprise!
