Didn't know what to expect, but I really enjoyed this and would like to have a go. The kit is extremely well priced and very well thought out, so apart from my own inertia I've no excuse!😄 Cheers Tris!
Nice to see one being made up and run, thank you. I have been having first thoughts about a garden railway, and had noticed some of the available kits.
I have been looking into battery powered garden railways for some time. Mainly because I'd want to make it very much temporary - it would not survive the combination of grandkids and Scottish weather! I can't believe I haven't stumbled across this one before, but I'm glad I now have. Saw it, liked it, bought it (and some rolling stock), and it arrived today. Cheers
I have actually been looking into possibly getting one of these for a future garden railway idea but I couldn't find any reviews for this, so thanks a lot for uploading this. The next hurdle is the railway!
I was looking forward to this video and it didnt disapoint! I have a similar loco from HGLW which I got for Christmas 2 years ago, I have built it, but was afraid to actually paint it. So now I have some pointers I will get to it!
Hi Tris, Glad you enjoyed the kit, it’s come out fantastic! I’ll make sure to share this with my Dad (Mr PS Models himself...😅) as he definitely appreciate this!

Bewitching little black cat in your film!! My way of having a garden railway on the cheap is to attend my local model railway club, which has both outdoor and indoor layouts from 5” gauge to N gauge.
I found these kits a few months back and I was so excited to find inexpensive options to build a large fleet of garden railway stock, but then realised that they don’t offer shipping to the US. Maybe they do now but either way I love how they look and can’t wait to eventually get some of them.
Lovely job on the loco, and goes to show that garden railways don’t have to be vastly expensive. I wouldn’t be running on LGB track though. Yes it is good and strong, but crippling expensive and most of us run on 32mm gauge. 17:03
Great video and a reasonably priced kit. Unfortunately, they do not ship to Australia, or I will order one today, along with some of their carriages. Love these budget railway ideas. Thank you.
Big oof on the 45mm gauge instead of 32, as the majority of other garden railways are the latter. Still, there are 45mm lines, mainly at heritage railways
Hi Neal, great to see you covering larger scale models, I’ve been modelling in 16mm scale for many years, and contrary to popular belief, there are a number of inexpensive, easy to build models, such as the Phil Sharples Hudson that you have featured. I’m a big fan of PS Models, they are affordable and easy to build and paint. You may be interested to know that you can easily convert your PS Models loco to RC buy using a Loco Remote Mini. This is a small, wifi enabled device that connects to the batteries and motor allowing you to operate your loco from your Smart Phone or tablet. They’re very easy to install and use, practically plug n play. I’ve put them in about a dozen if my smaller battery electric loco’s and you can run them hands off, changing speed and direction as you wish. I you’ve been bitten by the large scale bug, I’d urge you to take a look at Boot Lane Works, PDF models and Bole laser craft, all of who make outline scale, battery electric narrow gauge locomotives.
I was able to find a brunch of LGB tracks for cheap on eBay, so this kit will make it much more economical to run a garden railway (Can't really watch your content as the captioning are automatically generated sadly).
@@OONeal they're automatically generated which is nowehere as good as actual closed captioning, if you turn on CC on this video and turn off the sound it's much easier to watch whether with your, I have to be glued to the captioning that pop up every word once it's spoken ua-cam.com/video/k6eOF5DBe0Y/v-deo.html
Nice to see you venturing into the garden scales Tris
Wow Tris, that's awesome!
Didn't know what to expect, but I really enjoyed this and would like to have a go. The kit is extremely well priced and very well thought out, so apart from my own inertia I've no excuse!😄
Cheers Tris!
Excellent I’m glad you like the look of it. I think it’s great so go treat yourself to one 😊
Nice video Tris, Great little kit that is. Lovely job with the build and paint job. - Nicholas.
Nice to see one being made up and run, thank you. I have been having first thoughts about a garden railway, and had noticed some of the available kits.
Nicely shot intro

I always enjoy your videos🚂🚂🚂
I love ps models. Its the fun part of garden railways. And a good price

Love it nice job
So simple but the end result is a lovely little loco. Great Job.

Oh that’s cool, hopefully I did the kit justice 😊

@OONeal You've done an excellent job and he enjoyed the video 😀
@daviemaclean61 Enjoy! Garden Railways are a fun hobby! (But then aren't all railways!) I'm glad Tris' excellent video helped you find them :)
Wow great kit at a great price nice one Tris.
I agree, thanks for watching 😊
Good video . PS models do some good kits . Loco looks great . Must finish mine now!
Thanks, you should finish it 😁
Hi Tris. Looks really good , nice way to get the next generation interested 😊
Looks like you could freelance off that basic structure, and create virtually anything? Nice one Tris. I'll be checking it out.
You can Phil SHarples also sells just chassis and motor kits
That’s right, I hope your treat yourself to one and have some fun with it.
My modeltrains are in 1:32 scale or gauge 1 so i understand your interest in the big scale 😊
Green is also the colour of Southern steam locomotives, albeit a slightly different shade of green!!
I’m thinking about getting one of these simplex kits. Would be cool to see you build one to.

Good video, like!
Getting into G Tris? :D nice. Good job on the Loco, transfers really set it off. You're more than welcome to pop over and run it on my railway 👍🏻

I understand. Maybe you can ask them nicely and get a number of items to make the postage worth it
G gauge. Ok, cool, but I am waiting for OO9 scale. Still a cool locomotive.
👌👌👌👏👏🤓

Nice finish with the airbrush. I have mixed results unfortunately. What airbrush and propellant do you use please?

That’s excellent I do like the idea of making it radio controlled. I’ll check out the other site too thank you
Also Houstoun Gate Locomotive Works. 😊
By the way, I’m known at the club as Mr Southern Steam with sound. My layout at home is a Dad’s Army one, Walmington-on-Sea.
And I also have a Mamod layout and single live steam train.
They don’t ship outside the UK 😭
Model town figers.
Why is it so short?

i got a PS models kit. Looked fairly good but it was very underpowered. couldnt even pull a truck
No he doesn't make for g scale he makes it in sm32/sm45 diffrent larger scale 1/19 vs 1/22.5
