Quite a beautiful backyard garden railroad. I’m going to be visiting the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Narrow Gauge Railroad on next Sunday, where they are also going to be running their small plantation 0-4-2T #3 “Kahuku” for shuttle service. That little engine is mainly use for shuttle service during Day Out with Thomas events.
The Weiss family have a beautiful layout with a lot of interesting eye catching detail. On each section I would notice something different. I have to admit though that the Alberta Spruce had captured my attention, it's the perfect tree for my yard. Thanks again for another great video!
I have one of those Spruce trees in my garden. They obviously prefer the weather on that layout because my example, while it's healthy, has never grown much bigger than when I got it!
Which is the goal! These thinks are about eight feet tall full grown when planted. After 30 years! If you keep them in a pot if you can keep them alive they will never grow at all.
@@ToyManTelevision a family locally put a garden railroad into the hillside of the backyard with the help of a retaining wall. I saw the before and after pictures, it gave them more useable space and I think the railroad was the iceing on the cake.
Glad everyone is still there! Another groaner!! Lol Great looking layout there. Very nicely done. Your rock walls are coming along nicely too. And the shoeshop looks great
Dale: Neat! Liked how you dangled that show teaser at the end. Hope to hear/learn how Karyn built the shoe making machine. That’s no small feat. Also want to hear how you sculpted the rock formations.
Karyn is really pulling that off. As always built from bits from the scrap bin!! The large stitching machine is made from parts of a 3D printed steam engine! And some other bits. And and and…
Hi again! Well it’s almost snowing here. Will be in a few hours. So is this the end of the outside railroading? Perhaps. But south of here not at all. So the best part of the year there. Headed there. Soon!
Nice video. (As usual 😊) Also very much appreciated a look inside the shoe repair shop, with the details like the tools. Very well done. I already commented on that on a previous occasion, based on the outside alone, but this makes it even better. 👍🏻👍🏻
This is my oldest brother Dean's and my sister in law Anne's setup. They have done a beautiful job on this layout and they set it up and take it all down every year. They have worked lovingly together to create this magnificent setup. I have to laugh.... Our last name is pronounced We-see.. LOL
Love it. I really liked the hot air balloons. I was hoping they also moved, but just having them there was a nice touch. I wonder if a motorized pulley system could be used to raise and lower them under the tree(s). I wonder if a motor/pulley/zip line system could be used to move the balloon over an area while raising and/or lowering one (them)...just wondering.
Ohh, that is such a cool layout. The structures and scenes around the tracks add so much flavor and points of interest. Looks like it is set in late 1950s? The mountain with the live trees really is going to be hard to top for scenery. Is this layout lighted? If so, sure would like to see it after sundown. Meanwhile, the shoemaker's shop looks great!
Hi gary! We stayed until sunset but not dark. Love to see the lights in. Yup. 1950 to 1955. The shoe repair shop is SPECIAL. Karyn’s grandfather. And her best model ever.
Can you guys please put a Go-Pro or something similar to capture a "Driver's POV" video for next week? I would love to see that, especially going through the tunnel!.
I do like the set up on train layout its so cool to see what people will build and I love looking at the for that. Thanks as always for sharing this and all the other things you have shared in your video I've going back through them as I can LOL. 🙂Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist
A very beautiful layout Dale and Karen, thanks for this video. I have one question: Dean says the trains are battery operated which begs the question - how many hours operating time comes from those batteries? Thanks for your wonderful channel.
Beautiful, but I can't bring myself to leaving it outside in the weather! It's made to but it's just my thoughts. I think about you guys and your railroad as it was raining 🌧.
Thank you for this amazing video. Can you help me with a question? What size should my people cars and buildings be. ? I’m confused on cars and people please help. Thank you 🙏🏾
I wish I had the place for an outdoor Lionel layout. I’d also need the money for all of the track and switches. I hate the restrictions of indoor layouts and the fact that small ones have to go round and round.
I have a 96 inch by 77 inch in one room. New as of 3-4 years ago but I’m having trouble trying to design a layout I’m interested in. I’d rather have something with 100 feet straights. I dream big.
I like how the locos are battery operated instead of track powered! Where are these available? Or do you have to convert track-powered locos to battery? I think for a lot of folks who may just want an easy to build and operated garden railroad without having to pull power over to it this is great! (And you could always use solar powered lighting for night operation.) Thanks!
That system works either way. Air Wire is battery only. Google rail pro and air wire. A bit expensive. Hand held unit is about 200. Each locomotive about 100 plus batteries.
Well that’s kind of interesting. I buy that music from my library called SmartSound. They send me the files all broken out into measures and with the instruments recorded individually. Then I can reconstructed into just about anything I want. It’s really fun! So in this case I left some of the instruments out. It any rate I have several hundred pieces of music from these guys, the upside is I own the rights to all of it otherwise UA-cam would take all of the ad money.
Love your videos. I am just starting out on a garden railway project, I was curious about this battery powered train. My backyard has limited power sources. What model train is he using? Is it something he built or did it come with a battery?
Oops!! I mispronounced there name! Sorry! Pronounced we-see.
Another wonderful Sunday video. Toyman television is the best anxiety therapy I have right now. And it’s free.
Stay calm and play with trains.

I’m now adding a Alberta Spruce forest. Planning that as we speak.
Wow! Very cool Wiese!

Never boring but uplifting! Thanks again guys.
Hi again. Fun layout. Really fun!!
That is a neat layout.

Thnx Dale & Karyn

Another great show!!! You made my Sunday!! I particularly liked the bonzai spruce tree mountain. Awesome!
The mountain is amazing. I’m rethinking my hill. Totally inspiring.
This is very nice looking 😊
True!! Love it.

Hi!! Oops. Will have it fixed on next Sunday’s show. Anyway what a fabulous inspirational railroad!!
Very nice Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!!
Nice railroad. . You're rock work looks great 👍
Thanks. Loving the layouts!!!
Fabulous layout I'm building one. In my back yard as well
Where?
All I can say Fantasy very well done 👍👍
Fun railroad. But that mountain with trees….. that’s amazing.
That is an amazing railroad!! Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👍
It sure is!
Oh No! Another addition for the Garage Mahal outdoor section. Hot Air Balloons now that sounds like a great idea.
But where? The design team is in it.

Beautiful layout
Totally love it.
What a neat garden railroad.
When I was a kid, I had HO hot air balloon from Faller, I don't know if they still make them.
Love it. More of it Sunday.

Do both!!

Can’t here. But planning to in the future.
Is the mill shown at 9:15 operational? Also please comment on the adjacent mine. Is that operational?
Nope. Nice looking. But not working. No working features other than water features and smokers.
hmmm i gotta get some moss growing and that gravel done but its pretty wet today
Rain. Snow. Suck. Hopefully I can get color on this week and sealer. Then I think done outside. Well other than running!!

Hi again Rodger. Depends on load and the locomotives but typically 2 hours. They can charge in about 30 minutes.
Beautiful, but I can't bring myself to leaving it outside in the weather! It's made to but it's just my thoughts. I think about you guys and your railroad as it was raining 🌧.
I love leaving it out. It needs to be able to survive that. Survival with few if any problems. But then it’s great!
@@ToyManTelevision okay, but it still hurts me. The fantastic detail that you to have built is so perfect.

If you’re ever in Portland Oregon while the club is open to the public visit the Columbia Gorge Model RR it’s worth the trip.
Love Portland. Planning to come to the steam up at brooks in a year or so.
He has a great looking garden railroad did he say how much run time he gets with the battery power trains?
Nope. But it’s 90 min to two hours. As we understand it.
I wish I had the place for an outdoor Lionel layout. I’d also need the money for all of the track and switches. I hate the restrictions of indoor layouts and the fact that small ones have to go round and round.
Build a shelf. Any scale. 2 feet by as long as you can make it.

Will be finished Friday. Which Friday you ask??….

Hi. Just finished the second second of this railroad. Sundays show. Thanks
What song did you guys use for this in the first part of the video? I love it!

The battery is added. Airwire is the most popular brand. But these are not that.
Hopefully we get to see the steam engines running there next week.
Sad but nope. These two locomotives.
Good Video. Love it. but you still remind me of Paul and Jan Crouch from the Trinity Broadcasting Christian Network back in the day.
I need to Google them!
What is the power source
Batteries
The sqeaking axles though... 😖 Never mind smooth running, I'd oil them just to avoid a migraine!
Looks fantastic.
It does!
