Treat like toddler. 6- challenge their behavior. Highlight their emotional response Distracts from their purpose . 7- sounds like your saying.......sounds like your asking for validation 8' ask are you trying to control the conversation 9- ask why he is so defensive 10- how is this conversation helping us both? Honestly i think he would hang up by #3.

Yup i lived that they are cowards they aint shit ! I lived with him for over 15 yrs gave him 2 sons and was always throwing in my face how he wanted daughters i know now why god gave me 2 sons .He was a pervert Depraved pervert he likes young girls hes addicted to porn he checked out young girls Would flirt with young girls who worked at the stores he even recorded a really young girl say in her 20s that worked at home depot and i turned the video in I had to work two full-time jobs just to provide and even though he was still living under the same roof we never help me provide any type of needs for the kids I had to do it on my own and I could not ask them for anything cuz asking him for anything was like pulling teeth he will literally make you wait over a week maybe two weeks before he even gave you the money like he would do s*** intentional and so I thought to myself I said it's better for me to just move on I can't live like this he was literally killing me with I mean mental abuse like a logical abuse verbal abuse always belittling me and I'm and I'm the US citizen I'm the one that makes really good money to he just keeps me from making it because everything I make goes into my children and everything he makes he gets to save so I never get to save money karate and exact same people that are f****** with us
Perhaps since you’re aware that he punishes her; the next time time you stand up to him you can remind him that you’re aware of this and there will be consequences for him and you will personally see to it that this happens. Why would you do this? Because every parent will ensure the safety of their child from such a predator.
Used to happen when I'd stand up for my daughter too. Thankfully, there was a lightbulb episode and providence got him to show his true colours (to everyone) in the ugliest manner and this last time his usual trick of threatening to leave her backfired on him because she never begged him to 'not go away'!!!! She's free and happy and thriving now.😊
They act hurt and huffy when they are met with honest even gentle challenges. Unable/unwilling to ever be accountable or explain their motivation they react emotionally with "I can't cope with your questions right now, I have a headache, feel exhausted, don't have time for this etc etc. Always cut them out of your life if at all possible...so much easier.
You're being pretty generous with this perspective and advice. I've tried this tactic and my ex-n is immune to it. His responses are most always lies, two word answers, or anger over the fact you dared to "question" their motives, perspective, actions, etc etc ad nauseum. Nope, mine was liar, cheater and entitled jerk. And he told me clearly today that he has no intention of following through with his end of the marital settlement agreement, because (his words) his attorney ( who went complete ghost a year after the dissolution was finalized, and I had a feeling why), he said to me today "She (attorney) is probably not responding due to she is no longer being paid by me and is not on retainer for continuing services for something that has been settled and signed by the judge! " I followed your negotiating guides during the divorce process. I got screwed, partly because I didn't want to drag this out ( and here we are, and regardless of my counter offers, they STAYED on the lowball offer. I knew this wasn't going to happen, with him. This man is SO entitled and self-centered it's a wonder I even got alimony ($500 a month for 7 years-- after 34 married years together, three kids, and my codependent behavior giving him more and more power all that time. Now he feels he doesn't have to pay my percentage of the retirement assets as directed in the settlement. Because " the judge already signed it" and we're "done", according to him. He's an ass, and I am exhausted. Now two years after the divorce he is STILL throwing his bully weight around and believing he's above the law. I almost was going to just let it go, because I didn't want to deal with him anymore. I walked away and filed, and granted I was still not healed enough in 2020/21 to stand up to his ass; but in 2023, after his admission of "Yeah, I fired my attorney and basically flipped you the bird like always" ice suddenly found the strength to stand up to him. I couldn't afford a lawyer in 2020 and low income legal aid was overwhelmed so I went pro se. Coulda done better, but again-- still a bit intimidated, and just wanting to be done. Not anymore. Mf'er just tossed the ball sack in my court with his written email response to why has his attorney stopped communicating.....he flat admitted in writing that he feels he is exempt from following court orders, and intends not to give me one more damn dime or item. And I already walked away with not a lot. Literally, no money, no furniture, nothing but my clothes, my dog, a few shitty pieces of 'furniture' and a couple things that belonged to my mom and grandma. Willingly walked away. But now that he's still abusing me post-divorce financially..... It's only roughly $600-900 he owes me, but he ditched his attorney before she could complete the division of assets, and thus prevented her from also producing docs and discovery I requested for over a year. He showed his hand unwittingly. Now it's MY turn. And he's about to pay for the attorney I'm about to hire to enforce the agreement. (Edit: I am not a gold digger nor do I wish to take him to the cleaners. I want what's rightfully mine, as it will help me a little bit to continue to get established again. It's the least he owes me after an abusive 36 years.)

This was one of your best, Rebecca. My bosses continue to try to break everyone down into zombies. They recently changed shift hours, and everyone is angry. Oh my gosh I'm just finding out my neighbor has been against me for 11 years while I just let things go and paid for everything. One day she just came unglued and started yelling at me about a truck in my driveway. I was shocked. Now that I'm paying attention sooo many things have come to light. She's older and very manipulative. I have cameras and now that I'm looking I've already caught her spraying something into the side of my house. No wonder the grass is dead and a pump keeps breaking. It's all new so I'm not sure exactly what to do or what other antics she's up to.

I love your videos.... I'm 9 months into a divorce with the ex who my lawyer and I strongly believe is a covert narcissist, we have gotten nowhere. When i told my therapist I can't wait until this divorce is finalized, he started laughing and said this isn't ending anytime soon, we both laughed lol (we have a good realistic relationship) Best thing i ever dis was take notes and record conversations from when I realized I was going to file for divorce. My notes are so good I can match them up with her credit card statements and prove she wasn't with our daughter on days she should have been... plus the last 4 years of credit card statements is mind blowing 😳 All I have to do is shut up, show no reaction and ride it out

"it seems like you are trying to make a point?" 3-would it be helpful if i listened and acted upon your advice? 4-can you explain what you were saying/thinking when you said/did that? 5-are you worried? you sound angry/frustrated. 6- challenge their behavior. "how do you feel when someone else doesn't agree with your opinion?" highlight their emotional response distracts from their purpose . 7-it sounds like what your asking is....sounds like your asking for validation and control 8-are you trying to control the conversation? 9-ask why are you so defensive about this? if they continue, you can also say "this approach isn't working for me. we can have a conversation about this, when you are more constructive." 10-how is this conversation helping us both?

My Narc called me after not hearing from her for six months. I started the conversation out by telling her that in the six months I haven't heard from her, I haven't had anyone overtalk, interrupt, lie, blame anyone else, give unwarranted advice, or have the negativity that I experience with her. I told her that (dead husband's name) wasn't her husband, he was her trainer. He kept a muzzle on her all these years. I thought I could tolerate her out of respect for her husband but, couldn't do it anymore. Listening to her was like listening to Donald Trump and, hated the sound of her voice. She listened without interrupting, so I hit a nerve. I then said that she'd known me for half a century (since college) and asked her what I did for a work. She didn't know. I then told her that I was trained, and worked as a Behavioral Specialist, and then proceeded to tell her everything I saw in her, that she'd been doing and, has gotten worse since her (husband) trainer died. While her two son's, and their wives, don't want to bother with her, they do so for the sake of grandchildren, but barely. I told her that when a grandmother goes to visit relatives, a place is made for her to stay at the house, even if the kids have to share beds, or sleep on a blowup mattress. She on the other hand, has to stay in a hotel, and when she goes to the house to visit, she has to keep her mouth shut. I told her she needs counseling, and she said she sees a therapist. I asked her if it's a male, or a female. She said it was a female. I told her then, that her therapist sucks, or that she's not being truthful with her therapist, and to get a male, because females may tend to show empathy, with other females, and a male therapist wouldn't. Haven't talked to her in awhile, but hope she listened, or just going for a new supply.
You have acted as a classic covert narcissist. First you devalued her, then you maligned and gaslighted and even brought politics into the conversation. I could go on. You could just ignore but you wanted to bring shame and guilt. I hope you're proud of yourself. You need help.

Something you should think about is how you can make your videos shorter. I think they are too long. You start to tell about the first comeback at 2:44, that is way too long if you ask me! I think your videos would be better if you made them at least 5 minutes shorter.
There are 1-2 hours videos on youtube of the similar content. And you're complaining about 14 mins.. you're the problem. You know you don't have to watch at all, I'm totally enjoying this and so are so many others

I lived with him for over 15 yrs gave him 2 sons and was always throwing in my face how he wanted daughters i know now why god gave me 2 sons .He was a pervert Depraved pervert he likes young girls hes addicted to porn he checked out young girls Would flirt with young girls who worked at the stores he even recorded a really young girl say in her 20s that worked at home depot and i turned the video in I had to work two full-time jobs just to provide and even though he was still living under the same roof we never help me provide any type of needs for the kids I had to do it on my own and I could not ask them for anything cuz asking him for anything was like pulling teeth he will literally make you wait over a week maybe two weeks before he even gave you the money like he would do s*** intentional and so I thought to myself I said it's better for me to just move on I can't live like this he was literally killing me with I mean mental abuse like a logical abuse verbal abuse always belittling me and I'm and I'm the US citizen I'm the one that makes really good money to he just keeps me from making it because everything I make goes into my children and everything he makes he gets to save so I never get to save money karate and exact same people that are f****** with us

Perhaps since you’re aware that he punishes her; the next time time you stand up to him you can remind him that you’re aware of this and there will be consequences for him and you will personally see to it that this happens. Why would you do this? Because every parent will ensure the safety of their child from such a predator.
Used to happen when I'd stand up for my daughter too.
Thankfully, there was a lightbulb episode and providence got him to show his true colours (to everyone) in the ugliest manner and this last time his usual trick of threatening to leave her backfired on him because she never begged him to 'not go away'!!!!

They go silent , looking like the cat that ate the canary, then they mull over how they will get revenge.
They act hurt and huffy when they are met with honest even gentle challenges. Unable/unwilling to ever be accountable or explain their motivation they react emotionally with "I can't cope with your questions right now, I have a headache, feel exhausted, don't have time for this etc etc. Always cut them out of your life if at all possible...so much easier.

I've tried this tactic and my ex-n is immune to it. His responses are most always lies, two word answers, or anger over the fact you dared to "question" their motives, perspective, actions, etc etc ad nauseum.
Nope, mine was liar, cheater and entitled jerk. And he told me clearly today that he has no intention of following through with his end of the marital settlement agreement, because (his words) his attorney ( who went complete ghost a year after the dissolution was finalized, and I had a feeling why), he said to me today "She (attorney) is probably not responding due to she is no longer being paid by me and is not on retainer for continuing services for something that has been settled and signed by the judge! "
I followed your negotiating guides during the divorce process. I got screwed, partly because I didn't want to drag this out ( and here we are, and regardless of my counter offers, they STAYED on the lowball offer. I knew this wasn't going to happen, with him.
This man is SO entitled and self-centered it's a wonder I even got alimony ($500 a month for 7 years-- after 34 married years together, three kids, and my codependent behavior giving him more and more power all that time. Now he feels he doesn't have to pay my percentage of the retirement assets as directed in the settlement.
Because " the judge already signed it" and we're "done", according to him.
He's an ass, and I am exhausted. Now two years after the divorce he is STILL throwing his bully weight around and believing he's above the law.
I almost was going to just let it go, because I didn't want to deal with him anymore. I walked away and filed, and granted I was still not healed enough in 2020/21 to stand up to his ass; but in 2023, after his admission of "Yeah, I fired my attorney and basically flipped you the bird like always" ice suddenly found the strength to stand up to him.
I couldn't afford a lawyer in 2020 and low income legal aid was overwhelmed so I went pro se. Coulda done better, but again-- still a bit intimidated, and just wanting to be done.
Not anymore. Mf'er just tossed the ball sack in my court with his written email response to why has his attorney stopped communicating.....he flat admitted in writing that he feels he is exempt from following court orders, and intends not to give me one more damn dime or item.
And I already walked away with not a lot. Literally, no money, no furniture, nothing but my clothes, my dog, a few shitty pieces of 'furniture' and a couple things that belonged to my mom and grandma.
Willingly walked away.
But now that he's still abusing me post-divorce financially.....
It's only roughly $600-900 he owes me, but he ditched his attorney before she could complete the division of assets, and thus prevented her from also producing docs and discovery I requested for over a year.
He showed his hand unwittingly.
Now it's MY turn.
And he's about to pay for the attorney I'm about to hire to enforce the agreement.
(Edit: I am not a gold digger nor do I wish to take him to the cleaners. I want what's rightfully mine, as it will help me a little bit to continue to get established again.
It's the least he owes me after an abusive 36 years.)

This was one of your best, Rebecca. My bosses continue to try to break everyone down into zombies. They recently changed shift hours, and everyone is angry. Oh my gosh I'm just finding out my neighbor has been against me for 11 years while I just let things go and paid for everything. One day she just came unglued and started yelling at me about a truck in my driveway. I was shocked. Now that I'm paying attention sooo many things have come to light. She's older and very manipulative. I have cameras and now that I'm looking I've already caught her spraying something into the side of my house. No wonder the grass is dead and a pump keeps breaking. It's all new so I'm not sure exactly what to do or what other antics she's up to.

I'm 9 months into a divorce with the ex who my lawyer and I strongly believe is a covert narcissist, we have gotten nowhere. When i told my therapist I can't wait until this divorce is finalized, he started laughing and said this isn't ending anytime soon, we both laughed lol (we have a good realistic relationship)
Best thing i ever dis was take notes and record conversations from when I realized I was going to file for divorce.
My notes are so good I can match them up with her credit card statements and prove she wasn't with our daughter on days she should have been...

I am sorry but the covert narc man child I have just got to leave the home after 21 years, after subjecting me to word salad lectures for years, went silent at year 12 after I challenged him for the first time. He pretty much stopped engaging - I agree that a covert would not converse or answer any questions about feelings and certainly not respond to empathy or prompts to self reflect!!! They would just deflect and project any attempts right back at the first attempt

10 kickass comebacks to shut down narcissists
1-respond with empathy. ask them "what is your motivation for saying that?"
2-act naive and confused. "it seems like you are trying to make a point?"
3-would it be helpful if i listened and acted upon your advice?
4-can you explain what you were saying/thinking when you said/did that?
5-are you worried? you sound angry/frustrated.
6- challenge their behavior. "how do you feel when someone else doesn't agree with your opinion?" highlight their emotional response
distracts from their purpose .
7-it sounds like what your asking is....sounds like your asking for validation and control
8-are you trying to control the conversation?
9-ask why are you so defensive about this? if they continue, you can also say "this approach isn't working for me. we can have a conversation about this, when you are more constructive."
10-how is this conversation helping us both?

My Narc called me after not hearing from her for six months.
I started the conversation out by telling her that in the six months I haven't heard from her, I haven't had anyone overtalk, interrupt, lie, blame anyone else, give unwarranted advice, or have the negativity that I experience with her. I told her that (dead husband's name) wasn't her husband, he was her trainer. He kept a muzzle on her all these years. I thought I could tolerate her out of respect for her husband but, couldn't do it anymore. Listening to her was like listening to Donald Trump and, hated the sound of her voice. She listened without interrupting, so I hit a nerve.
I then said that she'd known me for half a century (since college) and asked her what I did for a work. She didn't know. I then told her that I was trained, and worked as a Behavioral Specialist, and then proceeded to tell her everything I saw in her, that she'd been doing and, has gotten worse since her (husband) trainer died. While her two son's, and their wives, don't want to bother with her, they do so for the sake of grandchildren, but barely.
I told her that when a grandmother goes to visit relatives, a place is made for her to stay at the house, even if the kids have to share beds, or sleep on a blowup mattress. She on the other hand, has to stay in a hotel, and when she goes to the house to visit, she has to keep her mouth shut.
I told her she needs counseling, and she said she sees a therapist. I asked her if it's a male, or a female. She said it was a female. I told her then, that her therapist sucks, or that she's not being truthful with her therapist, and to get a male, because females may tend to show empathy, with other females, and a male therapist wouldn't. Haven't talked to her in awhile, but hope she listened, or just going for a new supply.
You have acted as a classic covert narcissist. First you devalued her, then you maligned and gaslighted and even brought politics into the conversation. I could go on. You could just ignore but you wanted to bring shame and guilt. I hope you're proud of yourself. You need help.

Something you should think about is how you can make your videos shorter. I think they are too long. You start to tell about the first comeback at 2:44, that is way too long if you ask me! I think your videos would be better if you made them at least 5 minutes shorter.
