I love how you deal with a picky eater. Same here. My boys are all grown up now, but one of them was kinda fussy. When they were little I simply said to them, and their dad, I cook for me and I share with you people. If you have any complaints, there is a jar of peanutbutter and some bread in the cabinet. And that was that. Lol. They kept an open mind after that. ☮️💕💚

You probably go thru salad faster than just my hubby and me, but here’s my trick for making salad for the week ( because I hate chopping everyday). I do a “Crunch Salad”.... I chop 3 leaves of romaine then the rest is the “drier” veggies (green cabbage, red cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, celery, and carrot.) I put it all in a Rubbermaid container. Then when I dish up I add any wetter veggies I want (red/green pepper, grape tomatoes, cuke and olives). As you can tell, I love everything on my salad! Nutrient density!
Mary Krall that is how I do it as well, so the salad does not get slimy. Also throw a paper towel or alternative on top of the salad and seal it and it will last a week easily
Mary krall, please I'd like to know if the drier ingredients you put besides the three leaves of romaine, are all raw, in particular broccoli and the like. Thank you for letting me know

Gelbsucht Absolutely. What made it simpler when my kiddo was small was a three bite rule. If I cooked something I knew would be met with something far less than enthusiasm, I made sure I had another veggie that was liked -sorry, can’t explain how I did that- so three bites each were servings. New parents, feed veggies first. Kids will eat fruit. You don’t need to train tastebuds to that. I used a baby food mill, puréed bits of my food in just before I broke out hot sauce (yes, I also cooked with spices, but I did add the hottest after I’d made his portions) and that was kiddo’s meal. I think I introduced solid food at five months to zero interest, a bit at six, but by seven months had a plate for kiddo at meals. My couple of prepared foods were oat cereal Os, and weirdly, pickled beets. I loathe beets. He loves them. Loved them at nine months, loved them at 28 years. I; a few more forms. (I hide beet juice in my smoothies, and eat the greens. I’m the picky eater) School years, we developed a meal called shut up and eat it. The few things he really did not like were options. As long as the veggies/tofu/pulses (combined) to rice ratio was 50:50, I’d let a really big pile of carrots and broccoli slide if the Brussels sprouts were left behind. Cutting the offenders really small helped, too. Texture v. Taste. Rename artichokes to alien eggs. Be silly. Saturate their world with good options at home and don’t worry about the rest of the world. Especially shared parenting and grandparents. You have at least 50 percent of the meals in a week as good ones.

Soy Ginger Sauce 32 oz: Looks like the ingredients in the description box makes 1/2 c, so take all measurements x 8 to make 32 oz. Maybe cut back a teeny bit on the water or soy sauce so you have room in the mason jar for your maple syrup if you are making a large amount. I LOVE how you make everything so simple, like this actually looks practical and doable not like any other video i've watched before. I'm not used to cooking and I don't want to unnecessarily make it more tedious . When you said the bit about not using the steaming tray thing on the instant pot I was like omg yes this is the simple but beautiful content I've been looking for. Also loving the not super duper edited professional look.
I love you and your videos so much Kiki!!! Simple and honest!! When I feel confused and overwhelmed, I watch your videos and reset!! Thank you for all you do!!! I have been plant based for 5 years now and never stop learning how to make this lifestyle simple. You have helped me do that!!!
I also prep all my bulk of the food on Sunday, It's so extremely simple. I love how simple eating this way. I love how content I feel eating this way. Great work on delivering such wonderful content
Please do another video like this. It was very helpful. At the end of August I made the lifestyle change to vegan and have never felt better. But I do need prep videos like this. Your meals are so simple- I need that, as I don’t like to cook.
Thank u so much for this video and doing it step by step, I’m totally doing this this week! And I agree about picky eaters...my daughters are now 19 and 20 and they eat everything, it wasn’t always easy but I cooked one meal and that’s what everyone ate. When they were little and trying new things I read an article that said it takes children around 50 times of trying something to acquire a taste for it. So I would always put a little bit of the thing they didn’t yet like and make them at least take ONE bite, if they really hated it I would have them put a bit of that on their fork with something like rice or potato so they could stomach it down. This totally worked for both girls. Of course on special occasions like their birthdays or even just being especially good and helpful that week or if they were feeling particularly down, that would call for a special dinner or treat just for them to let them know that they do still always come first to me and to remind them they how special they are.
Love seeing how others season their beans ♡ in my hispanic household we simply add onion and that's it but I love seeing how you cook and meal prep ♡! Gives me new ideas !
Thank you so much! I recently found your channel and I’m obsessed. Your vibe is my vibe- so this is exactly what I’m looking for. I kid you not, just last night I was thinking that I should see if you had a weekly meal prep video. I didn’t even have to search for it 🤣. Thanks for saving me hours of trying to figure out how to prep on my own. Very appreciative of your content. Thank you.
I listened to your video and immediately ordered Dr. Fuhrmans, Eat to live, and His eat for health)diet. I’ve lost 10lbs in two weeks.I am now a devoted fan of yours. I weighed 181 lbs and now I’m at 170 lbs.Im going to catch you on Facebook to order your book.
I weigh 148 now. I started out with a 150 cal. Protein drink (choc) then I added 3 handfuls of raw spinach. 30 cal., then I added 25 blueberries, 25 cal., a half of a banana,50 cal. And 6 strawberry’s.24 cal. I would put into blender with two Splenda sugars, 6 ice cubes and I poured water about 2/3 full. There was enough there that I would divide it into three glassful. Now I have one glassful a day. I then would cut up a variety of vegetables. The ones I hated before, lol, and put them in my crockpot. I would add mushrooms, onions, celery, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, and two cups of cooked ground beef, drained the grease, and add that after 3 to 4 hours. I would add chopped up tomatoes bits with jalapeños, tomatoe sauce, 2 cans,
Cook overnight on low. And then I would let it cool down and add it to 8 of my Tupperware containers. Oh yeah I would add two boxes of liquid vegetable broth also. It is delicious. You can make so much different vegetable meals, without ground Beef.
This one video is the best of all videos for a Mom who is not sure how to get this going for her family. I don’t know how many times I have recommended this video. Thank you Kiki for keeping it simple.

I’m so excited I came across this channel. I’ve been a vegetarian for about 6 months (well yesterday I had a steak but it’s been 6 months since my last 🥩). I was getting a little frustrated with trying to plan out my meals. I’m prepping my food today with your help. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with us 😁👍🏽
This is SO helpful, Kiki. Thank you 💛! All in an hr - you blew my mind 😄! Thanks for the tip on getting starches and sauces done - that’s huge! I find we eat more salads if I fill mason jars with shredded chopped veg (carrots, cucs, jicama, red onion, etc) and then we each put what we want on our bed of greens. However, sometimes I don’t have dressings ready to go and the salad stuff sits there so sadly. This was a fab video. Thanks again for keeping it healthy, simple, and easy. 🤗. Have a beautiful day 🌺
Kiki, I love your channel! Simple and easy way to maintain a plant based lifestyle. I’m the only plant based in my household but it is no problem. I cook for all of us and if a family member desire fish or something, they will buy it and cook that themselves and add to their plate. Everyone happy 😊
I am LOVING your channel! I just found it this week and it is amazing. Your content is SO helpful. Thank you for making these videos. It is helpful to have so many videos showing different menus and prep etc. 🙌🏽😍👏🏽
I love your videos so much! Now that I’m out of work they have really kept my mind off all that is going on, you’re so positive, thank U so much! In one of your previous videos u mentioned doing a video on how you downsized, I think many of us would love to hear about your experience. My husband and I had been seriously discussing this and now with one of us being without a paycheck we wish we would have done this sooner...I think A LOT of people will be considering this now! This pandemic I think is really going to make all of us rethink our lives and appreciate the small things more. AND...would love to hear Nachos story! He is so cute!!!
I admire how organized and inventive you are. I can barely figure out what I want to eat in a day, much less a week, and for four people to boot. By the way I love your kitchen sink strainer.
Kiki love your videos! One suggestion for you and family. Brown rice, even organic brown rice, is loaded with arsenic! So you should soak it over night like you do the beans, rinse well (of course) and then cook.
This is the answer to my question on meal prep . . . . so helpful! It will be hard with hubby eating different, but I'm keeping it simple. Your videos are so easy to watch and it's like you pull us in. I'm so happy to have found you!! Thanks ;-)
Lovely video! I'm just sooo bad at meal prep and I always panic when it's time to cook dinner because I always start too late. I love how you handle a picky eater. I don't have kids, but a relative of mine have picky kids. They get to decide what to eat all of the time, ever since they were tiny!
Like the previous commenter said, your videos are super helpful. It's helping me to get back on track with what I'm eating. If I keep the right mindset, I know I'll be successful in not only shedding these excess pounds, but in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Thanks so much.
This has been the MOST helpful video on food prep that I have ever seen. This method is so easy and doable. I am beginning this weekend and I can't wait. Thank you - and BTW I am loving your videos!
Could/would you do a vid about how you keep things organize and clean in the kitchen. How you make the mess and then put everything back to where they are. Thanks.
My daughter is a picky eater too but she’s 2 and a half now so some good staple meals I’ve found for the younger picky eaters is Mixed vegetables (cut small or the same size as the mix veggies frozen bags) with rice and sauce Scrambled tofu with mixed in Oatmeal with wild blueberries (they are the super tiny blueberries) Chia pudding Kale/spinach Applesauce (blend kale or spinach with a little water and mix into the applesauce) I also add a little lemon juice to the mixture to preserve it. And sprinkle cinnamon on top. I find if I have some of these things made and on hand it’s makes things way easier and I don’t have that fear of omg my child is so picky they are gonna starve.
So if my daughter has a day where she didn’t eat a lot of veggies I can give her the quick spinach apple sauce or if she didn’t eat much that day tofu and rice for the win🙌🏽 hope this helps for all ages
Got my beans ready in the Crock Pot. Love this way of doing beans, ten more hours and it will be exquisite! Thank you. Love you and your books and your family and your house and the way you star on this program, and I tell everyone about you. You are so amazing. Have you seen Pick Up Limes?
This is the most helpful video I've run into for me to Conquer the issues I'm having. I work 8 hours a day and when I come home I don't want to spend a lot of time cooking. I'm starving and want to eat now. Which has caused a lot of set backs. I've been struggling on how to be successful with food prep. Thank you for this video! Another issue I'm facing is where I work, I'm on shifts each day of 3 hours, lunch and then 4 hour shift. I'm new to plant based eating and, right now and I'm always hungry. I'm eating a bunch but it doesn't seem to last. I can't run off to get another plate of food and can't sneak food either. I'm with the public all day.. Any suggestions? Thank you for all you're doing to help people. Very Inspiring
Appreciate the tips! I noticed your comment about brown rice. I used to not like it until someone told me bout cooking it via the boiling, drain and steam method. So easy and so much better (at least in my opinion). I add a little salt or veggie stock to add a little flavor. Maybe that will help you like it better too. Thanks again for all the tips. I’m 3 weeks into a plant based diet. Feeling so much better!
Kiki I really enjoy your videos. I have heard you say more than once that you don’t like brown rice as much as white. You may want to soak the rice like you soak beans, overnight. Then rinse it and add just about 1/4 to 1/2 less water. It comes out soft like white rice with a slight chew(yum)! Give it a try if you can. God bless you sweet girl!
You're such a wonderful mom really!!! I mean it, I wish I could have been brought up this way to eat. It's harder when you're older. Glad to see that you're doing all this for your family because of the end of the day and kids grow up and may change they'll usually revert back to mom's way of cooking when they want to for when they start their family's wonderful legacy for your kids. I commend you, thank you. God bless.
Thank you so much for making plant based eating look simple. I make casseroles all the time and dump all the veggies in. This might take time for my family to adopt this. But I'm willing to try. I'm writing down all your ideas and putting in a notebook.
I wish I found your channel sooner, I’m starting up again with the starch solution and hopefully I will make it permanent and your videos are helping me with simple ways of eating

Soy Ginger Sauce recipe:
1/2 c SAUCE / 4 c SAUCE
2 tbsp / 1 c - low sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp / 1 c - rice vinegar
4 tbsp / 2 c - water
1/8 tsp / 1 tsp - powdered ginger
1/8 tsp / 1 tsp - powdered garlic
Pinch / 8 pinches - chili flakes
maple syrup or sweetener of choice to taste
Ty for that! I'm like 2tb??? I showed a 32oz jar!?! 😲
thanx for working this out for everyone! I always do it to taste and all I had was my measurements for single batches!
@@PlantifulKiki You are welcome! Thank you for sharing your recipe with us no matter what measurements you share :) LOVE your videos, they are the most helpful videos out there...I know that I can watch any of them and it will show meals that follow the starch solution way of eating!
Thanks for sharing. I was going to ask how to make the big jar but thought I’d come to the comments before asking.
The best prep video I’ve seen! Thank you!
Wow, thank you!
Yep it’s brilliant and will save me money! Thank you again. Just maybe I will lose weight!
Love your videos - I get ALL my recipes from you; they’re simple, easy to follow and do not involve complicated ingredients. Thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
wow great planning, simple and so healthy.
Your channel is such an inspiration. I have been steering towards a plant-based diet and i really appreciate learning new vegan recipes from you
I love you and your videos so much Kiki!!!
Inspirational. Love your comments about picky-eaters too 😊!
Please do another video like this. It was very helpful. At the end of August I made the lifestyle change to vegan and have never felt better. But I do need prep videos like this. Your meals are so simple- I need that, as I don’t like to cook.
You always say that you’re a lazy cook but all your meals look gourmet to me! Thank you for sharing!
Love it! Yr explanation “what do do with picky eater?” Is so awesome! Keep them coming... so helpful!
thank you!
I am just starting to eat more plant based and was overwhelmed. Your videos helped me a ton! 🥰Ty!
Thank you for the tip to add apple cider vinegar to the beans when soaking. Im going to try that. I love your ideas for meal prepping. Thanks again💓
Love seeing how others season their beans ♡ in my hispanic household we simply add onion and that's it but I love seeing how you cook and meal prep ♡! Gives me new ideas !
WOW! Your outlook on a picky eater is ridiculously refreshing!
Great video!
What did you eat ?? Congrats on your weight loss
I love your content. You’re so radiantly healthy, it’s inspiring. ❤️
Still my favorite video Kiki! ❤️
This one video is the best of all videos for a Mom who is not sure how to get this going for her family. I don’t know how many times I have recommended this video. Thank you Kiki for keeping it simple.
1st of all I just love your name! I used to work with a hairdresser called Kiki too - so many years ago (1966). I love all of your videos
Like all your other viewers I look forward to them. I'm 70 years young and I started this way of life about 3 months ago and you make my life
So much easier. Just LOVE your recipes and your wise words. Thank you for giving us all so much of your time and explaining the why as
Well as the what. Keep safe in this time of stress. From 1 of your big fans from southern U.K. Btw Nacho is a sweetie, we have a whippet called Sammy x
I’m so excited I came across this channel. I’ve been a vegetarian for about 6 months (well yesterday I had a steak but it’s been 6 months since my last 🥩). I was getting a little frustrated with trying to plan out my meals. I’m prepping my food today with your help. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes with us 😁👍🏽
Just did this prep at home! Thank you! Exactly what I needed to conquer the week! Thank you 😊☺️
This is SO helpful, Kiki. 🤗. Have a beautiful day 🌺
you're so welcome!!!
So simple yet comprehensive! Love this thank you so helpful, needed this!🥰
Thank you for sharing this! I work full-time our of the home and it’s difficult to keep up with eating healthy without meal prepping.
Notes 📝 taken on how to deal with a picky eater! Thanks for sharing 🌸
Only takes one hour to prep my food; pulls out 16 machines 🤣🤣🌱 love you gurl!
Work smarter not harder lol
Kiki, I love your channel! Simple and easy way to maintain a plant based lifestyle. I’m the only plant based in my household but it is no problem. I cook for all of us and if a family member desire fish or something, they will buy it and cook that themselves and add to their plate. Everyone happy 😊
This video is sooooo helpful!!! Please do more like this! I know it’ll probably feel boring to you but I am a dummy when it comes to preparedness
Your advice for dealing with a picky eater is right on.
I PREFER my Crock Pot over the Insta-Pot, anyway!!!
That’s just my personal preference.
Thank you for sharing!!!
You’re a definite inspiration!!!🥰😄😊😃🥰
Your kitchen is gorgeous!
We've also use the 15 bean mix at Walmart..to switch it around,..i also do brown rice, quinoa
I am LOVING your channel! I just found it this week and it is amazing. Your content is SO helpful. Thank you for making these videos. It is helpful to have so many videos showing different menus and prep etc. 🙌🏽😍👏🏽
You rock! Love how you say you don’t like to cook but make some delicious looking meals. 😊
I love your mom pointers! “ I don’t deal with it”. We need more of these videos on how to transition kids to eat better.
Denise lol, I just wrote in the comments that I wanted to see this as well 👍
Kiki you are just the best veggie mom I’ve seen! What a smart lady you are. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and practical ideas!
One of the best ways to prep I've seen.
Love it! - picky eater for sport - don’t cater to it. Genius honest and simply truth
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. You are so sweet and yet so real! Don’t cater to a picky eater! That’s right girl!
I admire how organized and inventive you are. I can barely figure out what I want to eat in a day, much less a week, and for four people to boot.
By the way I love your kitchen sink strainer.
Wonderful! Thank you for sharing how you prep meals; it’s so helpful!
This is so AWESOME! Thank you!!! Many Blessings Always Jay from NJ 😇
Love how you deal with picky eater. I so support that too. Your methods are very easy to follow which is so helpful. Thank you 🌺
Would love to see how you use your air fryer. I just got one and need ideas!
We also make up some Pico de gio,,for the week..it's amazing
Yes! Loved this video thanks for sharing
Girl!!! This video is amazing!! Thank you!!
This helps so much with portion controls too! WOW YOU ROCK SHOP KIKI!!!
Like the previous commenter said, your videos are super helpful. It's helping me to get back on track with what I'm eating. If I keep the right mindset, I know I'll be successful in not only shedding these excess pounds, but in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Thanks so much.
This is next-level vegan meal prep! 🤯👌 I appreciate this so so much 🌱🙏❤️
New sub yay !!! I’m older but became vegan almost 2 months ago, within the 3rd week I’m off of heartburn meds, loving all these new recipes❤️
This has been the MOST helpful video on food prep that I have ever seen. This method is so easy and doable. I am beginning this weekend and I can't wait. Thank you - and BTW I am loving your videos!
This was a fabulous demo-thank you!!!!!💜
The best meal prep video, this really works for me!
👏👏👏 yea! A new video!! I’m so happy! This one is good too.
Love your no nonsense style of parenting and of course your food prep. I learn something each time I watch like No salt on the beans before cooking.
Could/would you do a vid about how you keep things organize and clean in the kitchen. How you make the mess and then put everything back to where they are. Thanks.
My daughter is a picky eater too but she’s 2 and a half now so some good staple meals I’ve found for the younger picky eaters is
Mixed vegetables (cut small or the same size as the mix veggies frozen bags) with rice and sauce
Scrambled tofu with mixed in
Oatmeal with wild blueberries (they are the super tiny blueberries)
Chia pudding
Kale/spinach Applesauce (blend kale or spinach with a little water and mix into the applesauce) I also add a little lemon juice to the mixture to preserve it.
Great video, Kiki. This the kind of meal prep I can go for! As always, thanks for what you do here on your channel. It’s made me a healthier gal. 💗
You are so welcome!
Got my beans ready in the Crock Pot. Love this way of doing beans, ten more hours and it will be exquisite! Thank you. Love you and your books and your family and your house and the way you star on this program, and I tell everyone about you. You are so amazing. Have you seen Pick Up Limes?
I would love to see more videos like these. Or any style of meal planning videos
I like how organized ur meal prep, the white bean and kale is my fav.. need to try that! Thank U! for sharing, feeling grateful. 👍🌶
I love your channel! Great tips here!
Kiki, you are a ray of sunshine in these trying times. Keep on being you. Stay safe and best wishes from New Zealand
I just found your channel. Your videos are amazing!!!! I had to Subscribe 🤗🤗🤗
This is super helpful! It's so hard to stick to plant based if you're don't plan and you make it all super simple...
Great tips and ideas. As a personal trainer your journey makes me proud!!! Well done and what an example you've set for your children xx
I must say I truly enjoy ALL of your videos! Thanks for such great ideas! 😃
I wish I found your channel sooner, I’m starting up again with the starch solution and hopefully I will make it permanent and your videos are helping me with simple ways of eating
Cut kumara to bread like consistency length wise and place into the toaster on high heat. You may need to press down toaster 3x to make it soft for a fork or knife to go through then add desired toppings Kumara toast
Just finally admitted I cant eat gluten anymore due to inflammation. I am also vegan 7 yes, been following your journey since your start. Guess it's my turn now lol. You will be my guide, please keep the content coming luv your channel and Instagram also.
I would make twice the rice and freeze the rest so you have food thur-sun (especially since you have that huge rice cooker!) I freeze everything!
