And while dr mcdougall isn’t new to me, nor this information, I still sat and watched. I can tell you this. I’ve been vegan before there was any content or real books about vegan recipes, over the years this community has had so much confusion and misinformation. There’s been some good ones who have come and gone, (and there are still some good ones) you have so much grace, and you convey your message so beautifully and well informed from your perception and experience. You are a refreshing welcome change to this community and I stop watching vegan content years ago. Don’t stop you natural beauty. This community needs you.

Our story is so similar, and I'm forever grateful that I found this channel because you keep me motivated. As a 38-year-old mother and wife, it is nice to see someone living a semi-normal family life instead of constantly going on organic retreats in Bali and staying skinny while eating fresh coconut and nut-acai bowls every day. Potatoes work! The 50/50 plates WORKS. The Starch Solution is an ideal way of eating. And I agree with you on this: adventures and experiences always trump things. Keep it up, woman!

I was pescatarian for 3 years and loving it, but I joined the eat your veggies challenge with you & High Carb Hannah (started it before the official first day) and ditched the fish. Since then, I'm down 15 pounds and I'm continuing to follow the Starch Solution way. I have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm taking it one day at a time. I've watched Hannah for a few years and adore her, but for some reason, you were the one I was able to connect with and actually decide to do this. I have been struggling for years with GI upset and general malaise. I know it’s diet related, but even at the recommendation of dietitians, still haven’t found a cure. I’ve been considering this diet for a while and thanks to the simplicity of your videos and recipes, decided to try it. Currently feeling better than I’ve felt in years! Oh just what I needed today, I’m on the 3/4 week slump and although I’ve lost 13lbs in the last 5/6 weeks, I’ve had a few slip ups with meals not being 100% perfect and was starting to panic, I love the bit you say about your on a walk, a journey. I’m also going away to see family in a week and it’s my birthday too so I know I will eat naughty things, and family already struggle to accommodate just vegan food, let alone a more complicated diet... but it’ll be fine, I’ll do what I can and enjoy it all! Thanks for your inspiration Kiki! My weight loss is all because I was recommended to follow you, still got about 60lbs to go though!!

I am literally obsessed with your videos. You make it look so easy! I lost 70lbs on Keto but my numbers were horrible. I switched to plant based the beginning if this year and have gained 15lbs. I am trying to lose another 60lbs and I know this is the best way but im having a hard time keeping it up. I watch u for inspiration. Your awesome. I came across your channel while basically searching for healthy meals after completing a 3 day juice cleanse. Prior to my cleanse, my body was feeling achy and lethargic. Once I came across your channel, I started binge watching several of your videos and I can honestly say you are the first person that has actually inspired me to want to eat this way. I am not totally plant based yet, however, I follow most of your recipes as far as food prep goes. I do, however, incorporate small amounts of chicken and fish. With just the small changes I’ve made from watching your videos I’ve lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks. That being said, I must add that I am also menopausal and have not been able to lose a pound in the last 2 years even while working out. So, I want to say thank you for all you do to inspire people to be healthy. I’m looking forward to your future videos!

Since doing your vege challenge (and continuing to eat a 50/50 plate) I've lost over 11 lbs, and have more to go. But best of all I feel less tired, have more energy, better skin and better periods. Thank you so much for making these videos xx

Kiwi, I found your you tube channel at the beginning of June 2020, I binged watched so many of your videos. You inspired me to purchase The Starch Solution and I watched documentaries on plant-based food. I am down 25.4 lbs. (1/4 to my goal weight) since starting this new lifestyle on June 25, 2020. I fell so much better, I have so much energy and my blood pressure medication were cut in half. I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for inspiring me and giving me the motivation, I needed to lose 100 lbs. Because of you I am starting to enjoy life again!

I've only been eating this way for two months (I was tired of feeling menopausal and tired all the time and realized I needed a drastic change in my diet). Anyway, you magically appeared as I only follow a couple of channels, but I think i was meant for me to hear your message. You look glowing, healthy and happy and such an inspirational you tuber! I started looking at your videos and realized I had purchased Dr. Mc Dougall’s two books years ago but just didn’t think I could do it. Your videos inspired me to try once again. On July 12 I weighed 216 lbs, my blood pressure was 150/94. Today July 26, my weight is 208.5 lbs and blood pressure 127/77. I had to take my pressure twice because I thought it was a mistake. I gained 50 during my first pregnancy ( at 26) but lost it all by 6 months post. Only gained 20-25 (I kept losing at the end) with my second (at 40), and she nursed longer than her brother, yet here I am nearly 5 years later with 25 extra pounds from my previous normal. Thank you for the inspiration and simplification of eating this way and staying true to it in the videos. I really look forward to your cookbook.

I was at the higher end of a healthy weight range for being 5’4”. I keep to wfpb about 80% of the time and get in 30 min of walking everyday. I've been vegan for 3-ish years, but with the stress of the pandemic and quarantine, I've been going HARD with the nut butters and vegan cheeses (peanut butter keeps me calm, lol). I've gained a bit of weight, and my adult acne has come back. I found your videos this week, and they inspired me to do a starch solution reset! Thanks for the lovely videos! Also, you look so young! I swear I thought you were in your teens/early 20s when I started this video. Then you started talking about your late twenties and two kids! You look great!
Kiki, I’ve been following you and all your tips for one month now 💪🏼. I’ve watched the MD videos you’ve recommended, listening to Dr. McDougall’s Maximum Weight Loss book. I can relate to so many of the things you just mentioned. I use to think that I ate incredibly healthy but my diet did include nuts and seeds and avocado and especially olive oil for cooking. I could exercise an incredible amount including 300 miles a month of Mountain biking, two days a week of strength training and two days a week of long hikes and never lose a pound! It was so frustrating. Since I have adopted this diet I have lost a total of 8 pounds after the first month. Happy to have something working & feel great!! You emulate health!! Thanks for this video, got inspired in march and mentioned to you about switching on high starch and low fat, and you had commented on wanting to know on how much I would lose, thanks for your gracious support and here is what happened, i tried it for a week and decided i couldnt deal with the volume of veggies and garbanzo beans and potatoes, i had to include and handle in my menu and the tons of cleaning that got involved with working with so much veggies, I was eating a chicken and sea food and cheese & white sugar centric diet,after being on it for a week, i gave up , told my self this is not for me, and during later march april and may i reverted to eating like i was before, but here is the good thing I did not give up, I did not stop watching your videos, and the transitional pain of adopting this new diet, so one day in june, I decided, this is it, I am switching and going to do a lot of prep work on how my meals should look like and made recipe journals, cleaned out my pantry and reorganized for the whole food plant based, was 166 in june when i started and have come down 5.5 in the six weeks i have been on it, and I am never going to go back to my previous diet with free oils and fried east indian foods, have found a way to make those recipes taste good and it becomes so much easier when you eliminate the sugar and high fat, your taste buds become so sensitive to the subtle flavors in the wholesome foods that are available to us, so the transition in june was not as bad, on this diet I am not worried about getting enough calcium or proteins cos your videos show us your diet and how fit you are, Thanks so much for putting all this out and with so much honesty about everything and keeping it real and simple and the importance of accepting and loving ourselves while we are on this journey and lastly glad to have viewed your video on washing hair with cold water in the kitchen, some three weeks into doing this,mine feels so much better and looks so much more healthier, I am truly inspired - Cant thank you enough KiKi...

I’m so glad I came across your videos! I just want to thank you for sharing your knowledge and weight loss journey. I’m an athletic person but had been trying to lose 10 lbs for about 3 years. I was just stuck at 128. I had been doing ketogenic for years and it wasn’t working anymore. finally figured it was time to change! When you said I could eat potatoes and rice and beans, my mind was blown. I was scared to death to eat carbs!!! Anyway I’ve been doing the 50/50 plate for 21 days and I’m at 122 lbs . This is the lowest I’ve weighed in years. Eating until full and walking, without a lot of effort, just like you said. Just amazing, I dived in went cold turkey lol no meat no dairy or fat. I have struggled to shed weight from having my son 3 years ago. I tried everything under the sun! Nothing has worked for me & I felt hopeless. I am very encouraged my your story! I’m going to start this lifestyle change and begin my journey! Honestly I started thinking of surgical ways of losing the weight at this point. 1:44 I actually don’t even know if that’s true because I think making TOO many changes all at once causes people to burn out, binge, and give up, so incremental changes to start and get used to things before adding another is more sustainable tbf ❤
Dear Kiki, a few weeks ago I found your channel, what a nice person you are! so honest and pure. I had been looking for a healthy lifestyle for years for my family and especially for our children. our youngest son has been through a lot and has developed all kinds of allergies. Nut allergies, hay fever, asthma and so many other allergies. We have been at the pediatrician for a long time but never has anyone told us that we might be able to change our diet and that is quite painful. but thank God I found your channel and ordered Dr Mcdougall's book right away. I should add that from Dec-May I was down about 30lbs and 10 away from my goal weight. I have not been on the scale for awhile but I look and feel super fit. Dec-Mar were a big learning experience for me and I've since adapted more to this lifestyle. I plan to continue indefinitely. Looking forward to that cookbook and the "cheese" sauce was bomb!

Changing to this way of eating can be simple but it is soooo hard some days and the message towards the end helps with that. It's okay to not be perfect. I have been struggling for years with GI upset and general malaise. I know it’s diet related, but even at the recommendation of dietitians, still haven’t found a cure. Oh just what I needed today, I’m on the 3/4 week slump and although I’ve lost 13lbs in the last 5/6 weeks, I’ve had a few slip ups with meals not being 100% perfect and was starting to panic, I love the bit you say about your on a walk, a journey. I’m also going away to see family in a week and it’s my birthday too so I know I will eat naughty things, and family already struggle to accommodate just vegan food, let alone a more complicated diet... but it’ll be fine, I’ll do what I can and enjoy it all! I am literally obsessed with your videos. You make it look so easy! I lost 70lbs on Keto but my numbers were horrible. I switched to plant based the beginning if this year and have gained 15lbs. I am trying to lose another 60lbs and I know this is the best way but im having a hard time keeping it up. I watch u for inspiration. Your awesome. I came across your channel while basically searching for healthy meals after completing a 3 day juice cleanse. Prior to my cleanse, my body was feeling achy and lethargic. Once I came across your channel, I started binge watching several of your videos and I can honestly say you are the first person that has actually inspired me to want to eat this way. I am not totally plant based yet, however, I follow most of your recipes as far as food prep goes. I do, however, incorporate small amounts of chicken and fish. With just the small changes I’ve made from watching your videos I’ve lost 7 pounds in 3 weeks. That being said, I must add that I am also menopausal and have not been able to lose a pound in the last 2 years even while working out. So, I want to say thank you for all you do to inspire people to be healthy. I’m looking forward to your future videos!

I have recently switched to a plant based diet and everything you mentioned is me to a T...I have high cholesterol, triglycerides, and gained a lot of weight with my pregnancies. Kiwi, I found your you tube channel at the beginning of June 2020, I binged watched so many of your videos. You inspired me to purchase The Starch Solution and I watched documentaries on plant-based food. I am down 25.4 lbs. (1/4 to my goal weight) since starting this new lifestyle on June 25, 2020. I fell so much better, I have so much energy and my blood pressure medication were cut in half.

I started looking at your videos and realized I had purchased Dr. Mc Dougall’s two books years ago but just didn’t think I could do it. Your videos inspired me to try once again. On July 12 I weighed 216 lbs, my blood pressure was 150/94. Today July 26, my weight is 208.5 lbs and blood pressure 127/77. I had to take my pressure twice because I thought it was a mistake. I gained 50 during my first pregnancy ( at 26) but lost it all by 6 months post. Only gained 20-25 (I kept losing at the end) with my second (at 40), and she nursed longer than her brother, yet here I am nearly 5 years later with 25 extra pounds from my previous normal.

Love your videos and your channel! I started following this lifestyle more seriously about a month ago and I’ve already lost 5lbs without tracking calories and never feeling hungry. I was at the higher end of a healthy weight range for being 5’4”. I keep to wfpb about 80% of the time and get in 30 min of walking everyday. Kiki, I’ve been following you and all your tips for one month now 💪🏼. I’ve watched the MD videos you’ve recommended, listening to Dr. McDougall’s Maximum Weight Loss book. I can relate to so many of the things you just mentioned. I use to think that I ate incredibly healthy but my diet did include nuts and seeds and avocado and especially olive oil for cooking. I could exercise an incredible amount including 300 miles a month of Mountain biking, two days a week of strength training and two days a week of long hikes and never lose a pound! It was so frustrating. Since I have adopted this diet I have lost a total of 8 pounds after the first month. Happy to have something working & feel great!! You emulate health!! Thank you for all that you do. 😘

Thanks for this video, got inspired in march and mentioned to you about switching on high starch and low fat, and you had commented on wanting to know on how much I would lose, thanks for your gracious support and here is what happened, i tried it for a week and decided i couldnt deal with the volume of veggies and garbanzo beans and potatoes, i had to include and handle in my menu and the tons of cleaning that got involved with working with so much veggies, I was eating a chicken and sea food and cheese & white sugar centric diet,after being on it for a week, i gave up , told my self this is not for me, and during later march april and may i reverted to eating like i was before, but here is the good thing I did not give up, I did not stop watching your videos, and the transitional pain of adopting this new diet, so one day in june, I decided, this is it, I am switching and going to do a lot of prep work on how my meals should look like and made recipe journals, cleaned out my pantry and reorganized for the whole food plant based, was 166 in june when i started and have come down 5.5 in the six weeks i have been on it, and I am never going to go back to my previous diet with free oils and fried east indian foods, have found a way to make those recipes taste good and it becomes so much easier when you eliminate the sugar and high fat, your taste buds become so sensitive to the subtle flavors in the wholesome foods that are available to us, so the transition in june was not as bad, on this diet I am not worried about getting enough calcium or proteins cos your videos show us your diet and how fit you are, Thanks so much for putting all this out and with so much honesty about everything and keeping it real and simple and the importance of accepting and loving ourselves while we are on this journey and lastly glad to have viewed your video on washing hair with cold water in the kitchen, some three weeks into doing this,mine feels so much better and looks so much more healthier, I am truly inspired - Cant thank you enough KiKi...

I’m an athletic person but had been trying to lose 10 lbs for about 3 years. I was just stuck at 128. I had been doing ketogenic for years and it wasn’t working anymore. finally figured it was time to change!
When you said I could eat potatoes and rice and beans, my mind was blown. I was scared to death to eat carbs!!!
Anyway I’ve been doing the 50/50 plate for 21 days and I’m at 122 lbs . This is the lowest I’ve weighed in years. Eating until full and walking, without a lot of effort, just like you said.

I had been looking for a healthy lifestyle for years for my family and especially for our children. our youngest son has been through a lot and has developed all kinds of allergies. Nut allergies, hay fever, asthma and so many other allergies. I should add that from Dec-May I was down about 30lbs and 10 away from my goal weight. I have not been on the scale for awhile but I look and feel super fit. Dec-Mar were a big learning experience for me and I've since adapted more to this lifestyle. I plan to continue indefinitely. Looking forward to that cookbook and the "cheese" sauce was bomb!
