I live in Dallas, TX (elev. 420 ft), and own a 2018 Jeep Trackhawk. It does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds in mild weather; 3.3 seconds in cool weather, and 3.2 seconds in cold weather. With gas pedal floored when it's cold, the tires will sometimes chirp, but it's never gotten squirrely.
That's because the Trackhawk is AWD. It can get the power down much easier than a Challenger.
I just Doxxed you and you don’t own a TrackHawk. The lies are out of control.
The point is my Trackhawk is quicker from 0 to 60 in real world conditions than a Demon 170 is. Very few people run their car at drag strips. @@snakeeyes9246

1.66 seconds with rollout. Even given perfect conditions and infinite attempts it is literally impossible to do 1.66 seconds to 60 in this car on the street

If awd it would be insane. Remove awd from a Tesla Plaid and they would be the same as this. It's always funny hearing Tesla fan boys scream ev is so much faster. Nope. Anything with 1100hp and awd will be fast in fact most ice cars in awd are faster if hp is the same
I still miss my Challenger Redeye. Wish I never got rid of it, hard to beat the exhaust note and supercharger whine. And it had a lot more torque than my M5 so was more fun

I got 3.2 0-60 in a regular hellcat with 315/50/r17s in the rear on the street. It's easily possible to get mid to low 2's in a 170
I also got 3.2 in a fatboi hellcat, 3.0 in a fat red-eye. On the street

So what's to say that the Tesla doesn't have to be on the same drag strip as this car to get sub 2sec 0-60? That was NHRA certified at 1.66 sec 0-60, so I find it very hard to believe that the Tesla wouldn't have to be on the same drag strip to get the same time.

Being a dedicated drag car, I thought it would/should have a much quicker 0-60.
it does, on the drag strip. A guy calculated that without rollout the real 0-60 would be 1.8

@@calebcripps2401 Except Brooks Plaid smoked it 3 times in a row on a prepped track and that was with the 170 running a stripped interior and E85. It lost to Plaid running 9.8s nearly a second slower than spec.

There's nothing special about E85 that I'm aware of; it's not some fancier gas for sports cars. My friend's dad's truck from 20 years ago ran on E85. So I'd definitely count it in whatever comparisons.

I've seen a guy take this car to a car meet and he got 1.8 seconds with it. Personally never seen anyone get less than 1.8 seconds, but he completely obliterated every car that wanted to race him, up until he had to fill up on e85 lol.
It's just not fast enough to beat a PLAID TESLA consistently.
Consistency doesn't come into it. It's never beaten the Plaid in any of the videos of them facing off.

This is beyond disappointing. Even on a prepped track with E85, it never even came close to it's spec in the Dragtimes showdown with Brook's Plaid. But the biggest difference was AFTER 60 mph where the Plaid continued walk away from the 170 and this was with the stripped out interior on the Demon. It's a second slower in the 1/4 than claimed even on a prepped track with E85.
There are multiple videos of stock Demon 170’s running 9.3’s. A second slower?

No production car can do under 2 seconds on the street. It doesn't make sense if you just think about it with elementary physics for like... 2 seconds. It's not even surprising that you weren't even able to hit 3, which is incredibly fucking hard to do already. I'm going to guess that tires and traction control type stuff is where the last gains are made at this point.

It’s not made for the streets it’s made for the drag strip this is not it’s fastest 0-60 time as there are people who have gotten into the 8.96 to 8.92s more than once. Race the drag car in the drag strip to get its best
