This is the absolutely raucous Dodge Demon! It’s the extreme version of the Dodge Challenger, and trust us, it’s absolutely wild!
Let’s face it, there’s one thing we need to discuss first when talking about this huge American muscle car - the engine! Under the bonnet, you’ll find a 6.2-litre supercharged V8. In the regular challenger, it’ll pump out 707hp… But in the Demon, that’s been increased to an almighty 808hp! Oh, and it also puts down a humungous 972Nm of torque, too!
Think that might be too much power for this RWD muscle car? Well guess again - it’s claimed that the Demon can run the quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds! The question is, will Mat be able to put the power down properly?! There’s only one way to find out - join him for his latest in-depth review!

@@mikeab2871 That is what people who are not into cars didn't understand. At one point, I was minding my own fun watching a compilation of supercharged Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8's, and my mother came to question me whether there's a demon lurking around.
But it's true that a supercharger sounds horrible. It's not a nice noise. I think naturally aspirated V8s, V10s and V12s all sound the best. One for each preferred pitch, all wonderful in their symphonic capabilities

That 9.65 1/4 time is pretty hard to reach in a stock Demon, even on a prepped drag strip anyhow. Using the race fuel, skinny tires, driver seat only, proper trans-break launch on a prepped surface will help, but I've been reading that even then it is tough. A crazy cool car none the less.
Idk I've seen demons on tracks hit it pretty consistently I guess it kinda comes in w the owner getting used to it?
The car is 1.9 tonnes. Really comical when they're trying to achieve good performance. They should've put all the money into saving weight

you need the below sea level barometer reading too. It took like years and thousands of launches before anyone was able to match the said claimed time, and of course that includes the 1-ft roll-out, which is worth about 0.25s.

When i worked for an FCA dealership id take them all and sell them and depending on what model they came off of (despite being completely identical) I got between 60-100$ people are dumb

That "yellow strip" on the front splitter is actually supposed to be removed. It's a factory chip protection cover. It's meant to look ugly so you want to take it off, but people seem to think it's cool. Good for protection too.
The Demon is surprisingly useful for such a fast car.
It's just a regular Challenger with a monster engine and a super trick suspension

You should've used the linelock before launching it. Linelock basically holds the front brakes only so that you can spin the rear tires. Helps in increasing the temperature of the tyres for better launch.

Ignoring the size of some of the panel gaps where you could argue does it need a bonnet scoop for cooling looking at those panel gaps on the front 😄 I do actually love the look of the car. Looks awesome 👍🏻

As much as I love the off-the-line surgical precision of the 911 Turbo S, there's something satisfying about how the Hellcats and Demons make you work for a 10- or even a low 11-second 1/4-mile on anything but full-blown slicks and a sticky track. Also I wonder how many times this review was postponed due to rain. lol.

Well technically, they still make the Demon to this day; only with one less horsepower, no crazy dollar crate, a rather mundane name, as well as some more downgrades. So yeah, the Challenger Super Stock was basically just that; a lightened up Demon for mass production.
one less hp makes it considerably slower and it just won't feel fast after driving both cars and I've heard the demon has better miles per gallon to save money in gas
@@Duckdude001 To be fair, it isn't the same money. If you could find a demon for sale it would be for substantially more than a super stock. I was just reading the other day about one that sold for half a million dollars. If the buyer an idiot? Probably. Still, seeing something like that makes the SS look a bit more reasonable.
im one of the demon owners and yes its really a special car. i don't think we'll be seeing much like it in the future, at least not combustion powered. very lucky to own one.

To think that if you run 100 octane the power goes to 840 hp. The Demon is hard to launch on a prepped surface let alone the street. Sticky Mickey's, great prepped track and a lot of practice will net you sub 10 second 1/4 passes.
This was built because people would love it. It's competent and supremely quick. If you don't like it or don't understand it, then it's not meant for you.

It's like Dodge didn't even consider CO2 per km when designing the Demon or Viper...? :) For every one Demon sold in Europe, FIAT Chrysler would have to sell *four* FIAT 500e's just to balance out the EU WLTP fleet emissions average.

I’ve never heard it but once a Mclaren drove past us, unexpectedly, I almost died. I was so scared that my stomach got extremely hot out of nowhere, goosebumps, my heart beat was speeding up, and I jumped a little out of my seat, it was pretty far back Im assuming and then it just hits the gas and our car is really well insulated, we were on the freeway, windows rolled up, that car passing by us just almost scared the life out of us.

It’s funny how this ridiculous car makes so many reviewers all act the same way - with giddy laughter and a desire to own one even with it’s faults. That big brutal Hemi engine and menacing looks is definitely appealing.

I had Mercedes Benz C 230K (CL 203) the coupe one and I fell love for it because of supercharger, the whine it did when reved :D My GF hated that sound, so of course i was overtaking cars and even more often just to make that lovely sound :D

You forgot to mention that it has options to Delete the backseat and passanger seat, if you like and That was a $1 also. Not to mention that it takes about another 80-100lbs out of the car. I'd also....definitely get the Racing seat belts and the DEMON CRATE (for $1) for 840hp on 100octane (108 octane EU).
The yellow line on the splitter is removable, it's their for protection during transport, not a design feature, iirc.

That “yellow stripe” on the splitter is a guard so if you bump something you wont damage it. It is removable.
