    • @uglybuthonestsincere
      @uglybuthonestsincere Рік тому +2

      Realmente, concordo com você, cara. Você tem toda razão. É uma didática sensacional, extraordinária !!! É algo muito, mas muito acima, mesmo, do padrão, muito superior aquele padrão que estamos condicionados ou acostumados nesse nosso sistema educacional brasileiro medíocre. É algo muito acima, mesmo. Não tem como fazer comparações com ninguém no Brasil.
      O método que a 'Rach' criou, desenvolveu e aplica no seu canal desde 2008 é realmente algo extraordinário, especialmente pela maneira dela explicar o que nós, por causa da origem latina do nosso idioma nativo (o Português), temos extrema dificuldade de entender em uma língua com uma origem diferente, como o Inglês. Ela consegue fazer um "raio-X" dos pontos fundamentais da pronúncia e do rítimo da conversação, como numa partitura cheia de notas musicais, fazendo com que pontos extremamente complexos se tornem fáceis de entender para nós, estudantes e entusiastas do idioma. Tudo isso na prática, de forma dinâmica. Para quem gosta do Inglês, os vídeos dela são cativantes, viciantes (no bom sentido). Não é à toa que ela conseguiu chegar a marca de mais de 4,6 milhões de seguidores. Poucos professores no mundo fazem o que ela faz com a mesma qualidade. Pouquíssimos. Ela é excepcional. Não tem como negar isso.
      Não sei se você concorda comigo, mas na minha humilde opinião, ela é, sem dúvida, a melhor professora que eu já tive o privilégio de ver no UA-cam durante todos esses 14 anos que o canal dela existe.
      Eu tenho um grande respeito e admiração pelo trabalho dela. Ela é o meu ponto de referência quando se trata do aprendizado do Inglês. Ponto. :)

    Can you talk about primary stress and secondary stress? In the word 'pronounciation', primary stress is on 'a', secondary stress is on 'noun', for example. What if there is no secondary stress in this word? Would one pronounce it differently? What if the primary stress is on 'noun' and the secondary stress is on 'a'?

    • @rachelsenglish

    I remember that you have a video where you explain why some dictionaries show commas within the IPA of some words and you say that it is because they are showing the stress through those commas so I would like to know which video it is to watch it again because I want to know how I can understand the stress of words by looking at the IPA and I think that you were using the Cambridge English dictionary to show that because that's one that has those commas. Would you or Rachel's if you get to see this comment tell me which video it is?

      Great question! I'm not sure which video that is, but when you see this mark [ˈ] you know that the following syllable has primary stress. For example, "American" is written [əˈmɛɹ ɪ kən]. The stress is on [mɛɹ]. When you see this mark [ˌ] you know that the following syllable has secondary stress. For example, "graduation" is written [ˌgɹæ dʒuˈeɪ ʃən]. The primary stress is on [ˈeɪ] and the secondary stress is on [ˌgɹæ].
