This kinda reminds of the origina, Imperium Galactica where you managed your colonises as a sort of Sim City type game, then fought ground battles round those colonise in a basic Red Alert type setting, then had a seperates space and fleet managment section... I wish more games had the ambition to do somehting like that
Unsurprising. If they can't be bothered to put some actual cannons there, they can't be relied on to tighten all of the hardpoint mounting bolts either.
Holy cacophony of death huh?, come-on!, Splatty should have started singing at that point! The Lu portrait amused me, she has her hand up like "talk to the hand"!
Yo Splatty -- there's a far better game with ASTRA in the name: "ASTRA: Knights of Veda" (the spiritual successor to Dragon Blaze) that I highly recommend you check out. The VERY committed, super-engaged devs recently launched Season 2, so it's the perfect time for a lil' Splat-Splat review.
I wasn't seeing how they land, Unless the landers came in from the other side than their attack ships. I do like the smaller more simple management scale they went with.
My guy Crusader Kings II is not a 4x game. :D It's grand strategy family fun times. And Stellaris is nothing like it. You should give both a shot. Crusader Kings II is less about winning and more about the story of your character.
Stellaris is FAR easier than CK2. Hell, even CK3 is far better. I bounced off CK2 hard but pretty much hit the ground running with CK3, the builtin tutorials and tooltips are great
It looks like someone had a look at the Spore space stage and asked "what if this were not-terrible?"
and failed to achieve that dream unfortunately
"Fragile Existence" is also an interesting experiment ;-)

Thanks for this and all the videos Splattercat!
Can't wait to see where this goes in the future. I'm keeping a close eye on this one.
This game and Fragile Existence is really bringing back Sporelike space RTS better.
Yeah, those weapons on the ship hardpoints were definitely jiggling

"All machine guns"? Okay, what have you done with Splat? The Splat I know would much rather have all missiles all day. =P
Missile reload speed is so slow
It’s all about the dakka
This looks cool. I've added it to my wishlist
Crusader Kings is a very specific game. Nothing is like it, and that's a very good thing.
Stellaris is MUCH more approachable - and fun.
i love these style of games
This is a cool game, has some promise for sure. Let's see how it checks out in 2025.
Surprised no one has mentioned Star Control (SC:Origins) , this is very similar!
Its jigglin' time boys!
😮 the logi might have been acting as a medical unit. Noticed mild damage was reduced between interactions with the stack
Very cool gameplay tbh
I want this SO BAD!!!
This looks pretty cool!
Looks like if Spore's galactic stage was done right.
Hell yeah, Splat! Always ole reliable!
This looks dope
Interesting game. Many of the assets look like they come from Endless Space.
Reminds me of Spore's space phase
Star Ruler 2 vibes.

woo love me some sci fi. just like cyber knights (trese brothers) 😂
Seems like an interesting game. Thankfully those weaponised reasearch monkeys didn't show up.

Hey Splat - are you ever going to review Chromosome Evil 2?
If you want it bad enough, every game is Warhammer. :P
But in space (void) there is no sound... so no ratatatatata kapow kapow boom boom. It'd be just .....
Actually your ship has air, so there would be rata-ta-ta-ta and whoosh.
17:16 buck*

Splat its just you seeing those jiggle lol...i wonder whats on your mind =p
;-)
ck isn't 4x
Looks interesting but not a fan of the rounded globe planet building style
Pass.
While it looks cool, I know the map rotation mechanic will just piss me off... thanks for the look see...
