Quite possibly the best UA-cam video on HRV that I've been able to find. A clear and well-structured overview that nicely integrates the history, physiology, and metrics. I plan to share it with my research assistants as a great introduction to a rather complex topic. I hope Dr. Ahn + PhysioQ continue the series beyond Part 1 and 2!
Glad you enjoyed it! You can now register for part 3--coming in March: www.eventbrite.com/e/heart-rate-variability-series-part-3-tickets-274619663807
Thanks!
this is what i am looking for, thank you dr ahn, you make me see tons of paper by seeing your slide and video. hope to see you in person to tell my research.
Glad you enjoyed it, Rifki! We'll pass along your kind message to Dr. Ahn.
Looking forward to Part 3
You're in luck because part 3 is coming in March. You can register here for the live session: www.eventbrite.com/e/heart-rate-variability-series-part-3-tickets-274619663807
Great talk! Thank you so much for sharing.
This is incredible. Thank you for sharing this series.
Glad you enjoy it!
Very good explanation Sir.
Thank you so much! We will pass along the kind words :)
Super useful talk!
Glad it was helpful! You can check out Part 2 (www.labfront.com/course/hrv-2) and 3 (www.labfront.com/course/hrv-3) if you haven't already.
This is wonderful. Could it be that the vagal withdrawal is in response to pressure receptors in the NTS at the level of the medulla which would inhibit vagus transiently?
How well do you think HRV is for managing adrenal insufficiency and tapering off of hydrocortisone?
Is there a way to measure the HRV in the operating room
To my knowledge, no. The devices used in the OR have data that are proprietary and locked behind a firewall, thus making it exceedingly difficult for users to calculate HRV using a separate analytical software- not to mention the technical challenges of calculating it in real-time. To my knowledge, these device manufacturers don't usually offer HRV in their packages, but I could be wrong. - Andrew
