Hey everyone! I have a new video from Poznan, Poland. This time I decided to use my Sony G 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 lens for portrait photography on my Sony A7IV. This is a lens you would typically use for wildlife or sports photography, so it was fun trying to use it for something different with the added challenge of using a long lens on narrow city streets. Let me know which ones are you favourite photos in the comments and if you'd like to see more "challenge" style videos like this!
Thank you to Quinn for being an amazing model: / k_kucinska

Thank you so much for watching!!
According to the description you had sample photos on your blog but I don't see any. 😭
Best portrait lens for introverts!
🤭
at 600mm you have to talk loudly to the model to give instructions... that goes again against introverts...
@@nothingtobeconcernedabout7477 walkie-talkie comes in handy
The perfect lens for clients who have eaten too much garlic.
Seriously! Great as always! I appreciate your work for years. Thank you to all who make this video possible!
It's very interesting how you were able to bring such an amazing result.
I do want to mention that even though the lens has more compression than most of portrait lenses you were able to show more of the location!!
Beautiful Julia is finally in Poland! Welcome to Poznań, the queen of photography!!
Super fun to see you demonstrate 200-600mm lens for portraits.
Wow! Nice lens! ❤that thing would break the bank 😆 💕
We need more of this lens! 😍😍😍
Oh lol this came right after a random youtube short on lens compression. Fascinating. Might break my old 100-300mm out tomorrow and get a few portrait pics to play around!
Julia is the prettiest 😍
Just invested in one of these for wildlife myself although my preferred lenses are for portraits …possibly a monopod would be a great aid helping with stability … looking forward to using mine as soon as the weather allows thank you for sharing
Thank you , Julia. I just love long lenses for creating compression. It was terrific to watch you use compression do effectively in your work. Great stuff.🎉😊
"Oh my arms". I feel that for sure! I don't shot portraits of people but that lens is amazing for wildlife like you mentioned. Thanks for showing us what it can do with people portraits. Cheers.
Hi Julia, I'm gonna try my Sony 200-600mm lens for portraits next time😄
Which would be your recommendations in portrait lens in order of cost 🙈 pls
Definitely my favorite look of all of your lenses so far........for many shooters,
long lenses were the STANDARD for fashion photography during the 1990s and 2000s .
Often a 300 f2.8.
great model … did you mentioned her or have a link? - THXXX ( … and pictures are great, as always)😊
大屏版你也爱,变态
Great work Julia 👍🏼
This is inspiring me to do some photo shoots with the 200-600 on my a6700, aka the 300-900.
I have the 200-600mm G lens and that would be the last lens I would use for portraits unless I was trying to do a silhouette sunset shot where I was trying to compress the background or something like that. The 200-600mm is a great lens at a great price. But, I think I'll leave it at home if I'm doing portraits.
We need a part 2 ❤
When I'm starting in photography and I also rent a camera I always use zoom lens cause I haven't choice😅
Just Wow 🥰❤️
i have this lens for a year now and i was wondering if it would be nice to portrait. now i will definitely try it. thanks! for sharing
Lovely video. The compression when you photographed her in front of the pink building made her look much larger than her surroundings which was interesting. Expect it would be an even harder portrait session with an APS-C camera.
OMG !!!!!!!!!!! you are in my City ... MY CITY why i don't know about this i in this exact moment go for a walk with my camera XD What you doing here in Poznań ?
Very nice model!!!!
Absolutely stunning! Great photos and stunning model. I love how comfortable she is in her skin! Gorgeous! As crazy as this sounds but this might be one of my favorite lenses for your work. You’re a beast to handle that lens all day 🤪whew!
I loved every single photo you showed on this video and I'm proud of you for not using the trees🥰🥰🥰
She so beautiful and unique look ❤❤❤
my dream lense 😊😊😊
Hello Julia,
can you create a video about the Sony 16-55 mm f2.8 G lens. What is your opinion about the Viltrox lenses. Are there only cheap or have they also a good quality?
The 200-700mm is my go-to lens. I use it for bird, wildlife, landscape and close-up photography (have not try portrait yet). Keeping the camera and lens steady for a long period is challenging. For me, coming up from a crouching position is a killer.
Nicely done. I also have this lens and I mainly use it for portraits.
big wow to the model as well! They make it look easy but I can definitely not be able to direct a model if they dont have much experience IMO.
I like those images.
I have this lens and i absolutly love it
Thats nice. Is the image quality and speed performance equal to 100-400 G master?
@@KetansaCreatesArt i havent tried the 100-400 but i assume its a lil btter since its a G master
@@sasuce52 Alright. Thank you 🙂
Actually this lens is made for portraits and closeups, of course of animals but all in all what’s the difference, nice video!
That’s so cool. Can you do a Canon 55-250mm 4.0-5.6 portrait shot? I believe many people have this len since not all of us are rich
I like it. Actually If you think about it, it's something quite common.
I remember some portraits with a very distinctive look that exactly looked like this paparazzi style.
Great model btw... So fluently.
GOOD SHOT WITH TELE 😎💥💥💥💥💥💥
I appreciate this photoshoot, I've been looking at the 200-600 to expand my wildlife photo opportunities. If he passes the human photoshoot test it should work well for nature wildlife too.
fun choices
I like that you’re not using a Monopod/ Tripod. I was doubting getting this lens because I don’t like using tripods. But after seeing you use it without one, I’m definitely going to buy.
If you can use a fast enough shutter speed, then you can definitely use this hand held :) don't forget that the longer your focal length = more chance for motion blur. But yeah, the fast shutter mitigates this!
Fun video!! Good inspiration for my long range lenses. 150 to 500mm. :) So creative. Haha.
Great results yet the lens doesnt make it look dramatically different to a 70-200mm F2.8 for portraits. Different tools different jobs
Wow interesting lens for a portrait shoot. I use a Nikon equivalent for swim photography and it's quite heavy. I have sort of used it for portraits, but it's shooting swimmer's reactions from across the pool :)
A model who knows how to actually model. I must say, pretty rare these days!
Hey Julia.... I was actually thinking you would end up in NYC this summer but you went to Poland!! I love that you shot with the 200-600. I have traveled with this lens as well and what a pain it is to lug around. Your photos turned out amazing and your model's poses were really good. She was perfect for this photoshoot. Can you tag her if she has social so I (and others) can follow her?
Hi! I’ve recently started to follow your channel and I’m a big fan already! Can I ask you as a beginner photographer I was looking for a lens to pair to my a7C while travelling and I’m undecided between a Sony 35mm 1.8 or a sigma 28-70 2.8… ideally I’d bring only one.. what would you recommend?
Awesome photos! So cool to see the 200-600 get to action in the streets as well. I wonder, how do you record the eye-af without using a external monitor? Imaging Edge app or something similar?
I guess she uses a wireless transmitter to transfer viewfinder data to an external recorder somewhere
@@sane7798 Yeah, that would be my guess as well. Just had never seen her actually using a monitor! But I got the answer just after as she stated her Atomos broke.
Hi from Poznan!
Dose 1st electronic curtain mess up the bokeh and image quality?
I use this lens everyday … can’t say I’ve ever done a portrait session with it 😂
how did you record focus monitoring? i dont see any external monitor or hdmi capture on you
I wanted to ask this as well
How would you compare this lens vs the tamron 150-500mm?
The model looks like Watts from the movie “Some kind of a wonderful”. Actress Mary Stuart Masterson. She was gorgeous
600mm?
Hi love from india jharkhand ❤❤❤
@juliatrotti could you please do one video about poses for the model? :)
She is so beautiful
I have some idea how hard that shoot can be. I was riveted on your results. Nice and dreamy. Great CBD location, that are a challenge in itself. Cool 🧊☺
Are you using PS now instead of the other program? Do you prefer PS?
Interesting. Looks like you stayed mostly under 300mm.
600mm for when you just don’t want to leave home but have a photo shoot downtown.
That was an amazing video
You could be a model too
You have a fantastically beautiful face.... You remind me of Kate Winslet
I think if you have a good camera you can make any lens look good..
You dont need to call the model to the location, she can just do it from home
Am I the only one who feels Julia should be in front of camera rather than clicking herself
That lens is for wildlife, not the other kinds😂
A monopod will save your arms.
This is the kind of lens where, I feel, 90% of the job is done by the model and not the photographer simply because there is just not much else going on in the frame. I may be wrong but just not for my tastes
Lol I’m 5’10 (170cm?) and the damn 70-200 is so big to me o can only imagine this
Julia, how beautiful you are …😍
половина фото в МЫЛЕ, кто учил вас снимать на 600мм с выдержкой 1/800 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
