Thank you for for this video. It is quite informative ^_^ from the in-depth information, the visuals and context to the time and passion it takes to create this video ^_^ it was quite helpful. Thank you ^_^
Such a well produced video Julia! To the point, filled with examples and explained in detail without being boring! I will revisit this video multiple times!
I don’t usually like and or subscribe but I was so taken away at how gorgeous these pictures are. I am in awe. I can’t wait to learn more from you! You’ve earned both.
Your tips are always spot on. This was a really good video for anyone who shoots portraits. There are only a very few photographers here on UA-cam who are consistently putting out useful and informative content that is a good as yours. Thank you Julia....
Wow thank you! I’ve just recently discovered shooting my subjects (High School Seniors) from slightly below, by accident and I absolutely love the images but couldn’t really tell you why… this video has given me some fresh new ways to think about why -when framing up my shots and planning my sessions! Thank you so much!
By far my most favorite video of you. Thanks a ton! Btw do you have specific tips on shooting full body portraits on portrait orientation wherein you have a good mix of the environment + the subject?
Even it is a coincidence or I am lucky that I seen this new video just now 😎 Thanks again for sharing Julia! always good to watch your video during my free time, very inisightful and informative!
1/800 are called shutter speed F1.2 are Aperture (Depends on The Type Of lens) 100 are ISO.. The settings like this not always guarantee that u will produce same image... It depends on the lighting of ur location where u shoot..
Great tips for those who want to move their photos from "snapshots" to "portraits". Thanks for the video @juliatrotti and thanks @PPA for sponsoring it!
Interesting talk about cutting body parts composition. I sometimes take photo and not sure why it looks cool even though its not classic composition (basically everything you talked before this moment). Ah so its not only me :D
I want to start taking photos of my work (hairdressing) with a DSLR camera that I've had for years and never learnt how to use, so I've been watching some of your videos to better understand photography, and all the info and tips has been helping me feel more confident and less like the camera will take over me haha Not gonna lie I feel a bit intimidated by using a camera when everyone else just uses their phone 😅
Hi Julia. And thank you for the video. Have a question: when I post my portraits pictures on an IG post, after having cutted with 4:5 ratio, IG still cut my pictures and compositions of my portraits don’t meet your suggestions… Why this happens? Thank you again for your suggestions. Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭, Europe.
Thank you in the name of so many "photographers", you should actually charge for this one! And, right on spot is my humble photographic opinion ❤ It's funny, too... "stomach is not a joint" 😂😂😂
I'm not huge into the photography compared to the videography. I actually only photograph brass model trains that I've been working on for other model railroaders and collectors. one of the biggest things I've been doing is positioning the camera's on my friend's model train layout in a way to get a much more realistic feel to the video footage, but due to the limitations of how he designed his layout you don't actually get any backdrops to shoot against to feel like a railfan is at the real world location videoing trains going up and down the mountain pass. I wish model railroaders weren't selfish in showing how they take their photos.
Todos os vídeos e Julia são, antes de tudo, lições de estética. Minhas fotografias melhoraram muito depois que passei a me inspirar em seus trabalhos. ❤

I love your portraits! The backgrounds make them so much more interesting, I love nature photography so combining those with portraits looks so nice.

What if their hemline is right above their knees, do you crop above the knees at the hemline? Or crop below the knees to stay away the hemline?
Beautiful.. 😊

Does the rule of thirds not apply in portrait photography?
