Thank you for watching!
I love your portrait photoshoots, kinda therapeutic for me and just super relaxing.
Thank you!
I stopped watching these photography videos and started binging on Netflix all the time, but I started back watching these and it’s helping me fall in love with photography all over again!! Thank you for everything you teach us!
That's awesome to hear, thank you!
I appreciate that you still use the a7iii especially as this year I'll be picking up one for myself.
I'd recommend saving up a bit more and getting the A7IV instead (if you can). They are worlds apart
Just get R6 instead and enjoy shooting 😁
@@bahaatamer1245 Why the a7 IV? It has some Eye-AF issues at this time.
@schildzilla seperate knob for video/stills, focus breathing compensation and the new manual focus radar to name a few. Only reason to get an A7iii is if you can get a used one in great condition for a great price.
It’s still a great camera, so I want to continue uploading some photo shoots with it even though I have the A7IV!
Let’s appreciate the model in this shoot who looks absolutely stunning.
Model can smile at least 2 dozen different ways, all so effortlessly.
Finally found someone that talks about portraits and this camera and not just videos!! Nothing wrong with camera and videos but 90% only talk about the video part of the camera. Thank you!!
Impossible to pick faves, honestly. Your photos are always so beautiful and well-composed (even when you break the rules, which is good to show because a lot of beginners focus on following the rules to a T). Urban portraits w/ overcast skies are some of my favorite style, too. I think I slightly prefer the look of a 35, but I'm partial to a wider portrait anyway (I typically shoot at 24mm for an exaggerated look) but man, can we talk about Adelaide? She was incredible. So effortless with her movements. The roller skate photos were awesome. Good call on the pads, Dan. Great work by everyone!
Ahh thank you so much, I really appreciate it! haha yes one of the things I love doing is cropping feet just a tiny amount. And I agree, Adelaide is absolutely amazing!!
the pink outfit and the mint colored building go soo well together
Why is no one talking about the GORGEOUS dress the model is wearing? 😍😍
yeah and where can we get the dress Julia girl 🥺
Model is sooo good and the vibes with Julia is soo relaxing . Loved this episode
Phenomenal work as always! She has such a cool vibe/look. The black boots with the pink top was perfect. Love to see her in a 90s B&W CK inspired shoot.
Always love watching your videos! They're so peaceful and therapeutic. One of my favourite moments was when the lights came on! They made the background and the ambiance just bloom! 🦊
Thank so much! I wasn't expecting the lights to turn on because it was still a bit bright, but it was a welcome surprise :D
Julia, you have no idea how much you have helped me choosing what camera body and lenses to buy. I have learned so much from your videos and I want to thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have just ordered my 35mm & 85mm today and a big part of that tough decision making was you. So thank you thank you! You are so cool and such a great inspiration! All the best to your businesses. Kia ora from New Zealand!
Also my two preferred focal lengths for portraits. Just the right amount of separation for intrigue. 75-85 mm is a flattering perspective for people photos, and the 35 is great for the environmental shots.
You two moving the model into position once she put the roller boots on is exactly how it went down for me many years ago when I tried them. Never tried them again hahahaha XD
I also put them on to test out the little stop blocks to see if it felt secure and omg I agree it just feels scary being on skates as an adult 😂
I loveee your style and photography! Your videos are great to watch. However, I would love to see some plus/mid-size representation in your model choices!
It's so good to see your videos in 4k on a 4k monitor! It really makes much more justice to the quality of the pictures, which is totally lost in 1080p vids. Yay Megapixels 🤗
Good video. Pretty cool your using the A7iii, showing you don’t need the latest and greatest if you know what you’re doing.
As always I show up for the gear but stay for Julia
just a shame that it often focuses on the eyebrow, not the eye! I was thinking of buying one but I think I'll go with the A7R 4
Thank you and yep, I will still have some A7III videos here and there. It's still a great camera after all :)
@@juliatrotti awesome, would love to have a video of the workflow of your events you shoot(bts) and especially culling and delivery. Oh and any app usage too if you use any. Using two A7iv for events and loving it !
@@WIDGI There seems to be lots of people having more issues with eye AF on the a7iv. I've found the a7iii to be very reliable.
@@GaryBox interesting. Thanks.
Nice one Julia and round of applause for dangerless Dan the health and safety man 👍
I saw those lights come on and instantly noticed them cos I love shooting on an evening with lights like that in the background. So glad you noticed them and got them in, great video as always Julia. Love the background music and nice to see such a smiley model too.
Completely agree on the lens lengths I’ve shot almost exclusively at 35 & 85 for the last few years
Why didn't you use the new Sony a7 IV?
Such a good content, loved this video a lot! it sorta gave me a bit of retro vibes, mustve been the rollerblades haha! So cool, good job Julia.
Thank you!
The model is really good at posing regardless of situation... it's not fair 😂 shes so adorable in these photos!
Wow, Julia, I really enjoyed this. Awesome shots full of energy, you are both amazing along with a wonderful assistant. Keep up the great work.
Thank you!! This was SUCH a fun day 😊
Julia inspired me to get into photography, recently bought a 600d as am a complete noob rn.
What an absolutely stunning model!!😍
Your shoots are so much fun to watch and so informative as well. Loved the look of the boots with the dress. Also, when those lights came on at the end it was very cool. Thanks again for your work.
Thanks so much!
Love the effects of the Amalfi pack and your use of the 35/85
Great photos, love the colors and the location, the model did great too!
35/85 is a perfect combo in my opinion.
Amazing video been watching your videos for a few years now and I know how much you love the 35mm.
35mm focal length is my absolute favourite
Thank you Julia, very informative 35+85mm video!! I like 24+50mm for landscapes; although 35+85mm look like a much better combo for portraits. Thanks again for the great video!!
Thank you. Yeah I also know some wedding photographers who prefer the 24+50 combo as well!
@@juliatrotti Like you, I think I prefer the 35+85 combo. Also this video is one of my favorites. I loved the "behind the scenes" portions of the rolling skating; it was phenomenal. Thank you for making my day!!
ugh, this shoot gave me all the feels!!!
What a great video. It is wonderful to see the scenes in the streets in real life. For me, this is one of the distinguishing features of your video. That's what makes your videos unique. It creates the perfect story! To loosen things up a bit, you could say oh there's tomato soup for lunch. Or something like that 🤔. My favorite photos are at minute 2:09.
Many thanks Julia to you and the entire team for this once again outstanding video.
Thank you so much!
Gawd, can’t wait for it to warm up here in Mn (-10ºC). Excellent vid. I learn so much from your bts videos. Thanks for posting!!
Loved it and love the energy of both you and the model! Amazing photos too:)
Thank you!!
Enhorabuena Julia por el vídeo. Soy un seguidor tuyo de España y me encantan tus vídeos. Ha sido muy divertido las tomas de fotos con los patines, menos mal que no ha tropezado y caído. Sigue así 👍
Thank you for this great video! And what a amazing model! Loved the confidence and the playfulness you both shared!
Loved this photo shoot! Beautiful model and gorgeous photos!!
I love your work and I watch all your videos! Thank you for posting
just watching your video makes me an expert photographer.
85 f1.4 is amazing . Love it
I loveee your style and photography! Your videos are great to watch
Nice work, girls! The 3 of you are lovely! Greetings from a Brazilian girl in France.
Great look at these 2 lenses! Thanks for the behind the scenes video, love these :)
The results from 35mm reminds me of The 1995 - Robbers music video. So awesome and amazing shots! 35mm will be my next lens to buy. 🥰
I love this video so so so much!
Those roller skate images are just amazing! I've always been curious about setting up a shoot like this for myself, but I've been a little intimidated on how to set them up. Do you hire someone to do makeup and hair, and how do you choose outfits? Love your work Julia! :)
Thank you so much! I have a video called how to plan a photoshoot in 5 easy steps, you can find it if you sort my videos by most popular - I think that will answer a lot of your questions 😄
@@juliatrotti Amazing, I'll check it out! :)
That's so beautiful work ! Thanks for sharing this.
I agree! My wedding duo!
nice session. I would never get so empty streets in Munich and get a model to sit in the middle of the street unbothered 😁
Enjoyed watching several of your videos , I am both old & old school and like doing similar photo shoots to what you do, I got a lot of good ideas for EF lenses paired to a cannon 5Ds , choosing a 85mm f1.2L II & a 24-70mm f2.8L II and thank you for letting me snitch a few really good ideas from you, again thank you ! John
You take photos👌very well, I watch your videos from India🇮🇳
All of this is art. 🔥🔥🔥
Photos looked amazing
I use both those lenses also on my shoots. Thanks for this video
Very cool photos turned out) the model is very cool as well as the photographer)))) I only had a 35 mm lens and for a long time I chose which one to buy in addition) and now I understand that I was not mistaken) my combo is also 35 and 85) (() )) thanks for the bright video)
Great, I also use this combo on weddings. Love it
Yep me too, with some 135 thrown in there as well!
Hello Julia, Since I discovered your video with 35mm portrait session I gave it a try and I definitively am in the same feeling as you are. 35 is replacing 50 in my bag and obviously 85 & 105 in my case.
Just got he 35mm f/1,2 on my Lumix S1R and the 85mm f/1,8 Lumix
And the Tamron 35mm f/1,4 and the Nikon 105 f/1,4 on my Nikon D3X
depending on my mood I get one set or the other !!!
What is this Tampon lens you speak of?
@@GaryBox sorry it’s my automatic corrector. I meant Tamron 35mm f/1.4 SP
I loved the Tamron 35 1.4 when I used it on my Canon, it’s a great lens!
@@juliatrotti yeah it’s one of your videos that convinced me to give it a try!!! Have a good day Julia and thanks for your answer.
Clicked for the gear, stayed for the rollerskates!
great video, and lovely model and nice location....the roller skates photos are my fav.
Thank you!
I love your work so much 🥺💜
Great video as always Julia! On a side note, does anyone know what device she is using to record the screen while taking photos? I'd love to have that set up for my street photography walks. :)
Thats the million dollar question
🔥🔥🔥
Awesome ❤
I love your portrait photoshoot and keep it up. All the best..
Thanks so much
can you show how you have your cine eye 2s is setup, please. I want to show people my photography when i take them as well.
Lovely video as usual! How do you make the photos look so clean and sharp?
Thank you! Good lighting is the key for cleaner photos and making sure you nail the focus on the eyes as well. I was also shooting at f2 in some spots here due to all the movement we were capturing.
@@juliatrotti Thank you.
Love my 28&55mm combo
love love love your video!
I do 24 + 50 + 135, but this combo looks great too!
Let’t try Sigma 40mm f/1.4 and give your idea on that lens compared with 35mm
Hey I saw your Pic of this lovely Model on EXPLORE..Go Girl Well Done
Hi Julia, really great video. I was wondering if you could share how you screen record and take photos at the same time? Are you using a external recorder? Thanks
Julia, just a quick question. What device do you have connected to the 7lll and mounted to the bottom plate ?
I 100% agree 😀
I love watching this📸😍😎🔥😁
Julia, your photo skills are amazing!! stunning photos!!. Would you say the Canon 35mm 1.4II is better to this new Sony GM 35? am torn between the two!.
Great contrast between the two lenses. I come from a photojournalism background so 35mm lens is the most natural to use for me. BTW, what is attached to the bottom of your camera?
It's the external display that helps her record her screen for us to show us what the camera is seeing as a reference.. sony doesn't have a in built screen recorder but u can record it with an external display that supports it..
You are magical :)
I like both, but 85 is more. Why didn't you use a7r iv or a7 iv? Isn't it better than a7 iii?
I was asking myself the same thing
they probably using the a7iv for the video..image looks crisp
Define better though, the A7III is still a great camera. While I make gear reviews on my channel, if you've been watching my videos for a while I don't think its important to have the latest gear to produce good photos. So I will still have videos here and there on my A7III bodies too.
@@adzamree6870 video was on the A7sIII!
I love your work ...its fantastic
I like shoot with natural light, do you have made a good work. Nice edit.
this model!! damn
Love your work.
V pretty cover❤️‼️
What are you using to record your camera screen that is so light weight below your camera?
I loooove free flowing movements in photos and most people I’ve shot seem to be a robot and not know how they can possibly swing their arms around, even when i demonstrate lol its a struggle a lot lol
I’m so stumped on which lens to get for my A7iii I mainly do family photography, would these also be a good combo for those situations
Very nice photos 😍
Magical - so sublime . Love the outfit you chose and it complemented your model to a tee. Defiantly, the blue colour you used worked well.
I love a portrait lens more at 100mm and 50mm for other shots . I find 35mm a little too wide , but you made it work .
I have a question - do you shoot in manual or autofocus , as with a fast shutter it can be difficult to retain focus if the aperture is too shallow . I would really appreciate a little more info on such things and wonder whether this could be a topic for another video for us who are interested in such things .
Thank you once again for such a aspirational video .
Continuous AF with eye-track would be my guess - and why not 🤷🏻♂️
The key to this video (for me anyway) was hearing you say, 35mm for the "lifestyle" and 85mm for close ups. It never occurred to me to think in those terms. I love it it! Thanks!
Honestly should've thrown in a 135mm as well, for those extreme face close ups. That would've been THE PERFECT video in my opinion. Nonetheless, great video as usual
I usually use the 135 instead of an 85 depending on the subject and location! If the background is super busy a 135 can be handy to help the subject stand out a little more. I also use those 3 lenses the most for my wedding photography too!
@@juliatrotti any other lenses you recommend using during weddings? Just curious.
@@bahaatamer1245 I also have a 50 with me just in case. And also my G20 for a big group shot of everyone and some wide shots of the venue.
I just bought this combo!
Aaah, every time I feel like I watched enough videos to be convinced that I need a 135/1.8, I see another one that makes me think I should get an 85/1.4 instead. It's never ending...
It’s a tough choice! I’m working on an 85mm vs 135mm video right now actually that I’m hoping to upload within a couple of weeks. Hopefully that can be helpful to see them side by side
Beautiful model, I spent 18 yrs in Au ,Love to hear Australian women talk...:)
So calming lol. Anyone knows how she records her screen?
Just a hdmi out into a recorder, fairly straight forward I think
