I am impressed with this advice ,l was recently retired from my career as a hairstylist since 1963 ,this lady is absolutely correct ,the only problem l have found for years is finding a hairstylist who knows your needs and will listen to your request, so many are stuck with one way of styling and simply cannot adapt ,l miss my profession I'm now in my mid 70's so not accepted in a salon environment anymore so retired but missing my work ,listen to this stylist she's got it right ,,,
Wow since 1963 that’s a long career !! Great for you how did u manage your health I’m 60 but I feel slower now then I did just 10 years ago toward the end of your career did you work part time?
Your right finding a true hairdresser who can see what you need, now all they do is cut, and long hair styles which really don’t take much effort, most hairdresser are stuck.
Thank you for an informative video! Please do a video on issues particular to mature (over 65) hair. I don’t want to look as if I’ve given up nor do I want to look like I’m trying to relive my youth.
Very informative and easy to understand video. Thank you! I wish there was a similar video to explain the choices of glasses that go with one's facial features and hairstyle. It's not as easy as one might think ;)
That was a lot of fun! I'm short & I've always opted for long hair, putting it up in a plain or French braid, the milk maid braid, a simple bun, a chignon, a ponytail or even a clip when I just want it out of the way. It also depended on what I was doing. Being a LOT older than you, I'm not thinking of changing but I do enjoy seeing the new styles. Thank you.
I absolutely love your hair style! I find it so great that you have short hair and look so stylish, elegant and cool in it! Long hair is usually seen as the beauty ideal for women in this world, but it doesn't suit everyone. Thanks for a great video!
Very helpful video for me ! I’m pixie girl over 40 years ! Have a little fear to change style! Now you give the confidence to have some fun with my hair ! I will make a change! Thanks for the presentation! 🤩🌻🌻🌻
Goede tips! 🥰
💟 Hi Diana, I totally get your reasons for wearing your hair short. It's so much work & time spent on hair when trying to get out of the house. I think patience wears thin as one grows older LOL!!! I just adore your short hairstyle & color, both attractive & stylish!!! Thank you! 💟💜💟
Everyone can do whatever they want , of course ,...idleness has never helped with long hair...short hairstyles also need their care . I am always happy when I see my mother ( 83 ) with long hair sitting between the other old women with the unstyled toilet brush styles . Long hair is fun , and she looks the best .
I’ve been a pixie gal for years. I have fine, straight hair, but a lot of it. I have an oval face and more gamine features. My main reason for going pixie is that I find zero pleasure in styling my hair. I also run, so I wanted something that I could style daily in five minutes. An unexpected bonus to choosing this style is that it suits my personal style. I’m relaxed classic, so I wear tee shirts and sweatshirts most days with jeans or shorts or often casual knee length tee or a-line style dresses. While my clothes are very basic, everything is classic cut, straight lines, classic colors and coordinated, so my hair being cut with precision pulls it all together. Found this video very interesting and adore your style!
Thank you! I have the same feeling for pixie - no need to stand in front of the mirror for an hour and your hair always look styled. Thanks for sharing ur feedback!
I had to pixie see haircut for 10 years, and just spent the last year growing it out to a bob haircut with side swept bang. I have a really long forehead and very thick hair, and the pixie was easy to manage but I got bored with never being able to do other things with it like a ponytail or a bun or anything. So I grew it out!
Hi, I enjoyed your video. What wd you suggest for an older woman (my mom) she always has a pixie and really wants a Bob style cut, but she's into major volume, I told her I'd take her anywhere she wants to go and I'd pay, thank you.
I have a short bob. Easy and classic. My hair is becoming platinum with lighter strands around the face, so the bob style fits it. This was very informative. I don’t get the whole extension rage. Especially because we all know they’re extensions.
Hi, Diana! I love your channel and am taking your 3-day course - I love that, too! I am learning SO MUCH!!! I am trying to make myself over, but I do not know what to do with my hair. I have watched your videos and many others as well, trying to figure out what is look is best for me. Do you offer consultations, or do you have other suggestions on how to move forward to improve my look? Thank you!
please present hair for older women! I am 67 and have lots of hair...your esthetic is so classy and I would love to have your take on older women - we want to looked fabulous too...thnak you
As a hairstylist for over 40 years, you are correct. Your short haircut will not work on someone with a larger face, also the neck hairline cannot be too long either. It also depends how much hair you have in front of your ears. I always wanted to wear a cut like yours back when we had a few spiked up in the front. It just didn't workout because, my hair when short was too fine but currier, and my neckline had 2 longer Vs,they never could lay down. This was a good video, the great thing I that HAIR GROWS, never be afaid to try!
Was a very helpful video. I agree with the one gal, finding a stylist that listens and knows how to cut hair is sometimes hard to find.. Pricey salons doesn't always mean better cuts. Thank you. I'm 69 and will go with a Bob cut. Short and layered on top and more tapered bottom to lift my face up.
This was great. I watched so many videos to find the best hairstyle for my face but people talked about it as if it's a rule. Your guide is much more flexible and applicable.
I’m 5’1” and have had short hair most of my life. The style that gets me the most compliments is the pixie. It’s great in the summer but as soon as it gets cold, I’m freezing. Thankfully I have curly hair and can change it up whenever I like. Right now I am growing it out and it’s a a long pixie. Winter is coming!!
Hello Diana, i'm happy to find your channel. I always have problem with my hair. They fine and straight and my face is long, so needs volume and curles. It's impossible to find the right hair cut. I would like your help.
Love the video and your channel! Could you please include very wavy/curly/coily/afro hair next time? Lots of women in the world have that kind of hair! TBH I watched the video but with my 3C very curly hair and wide face, I still have no idea what style would fit me, and am not willing to get my hair heat damaged, drying out and break off to fit the recommended straight or slightly wavy hairstyles.
I don't think so. She is very skinny ( not feminine ) to make her more feminine needs more softer hairstyle. She looks like a teenage boy rather a women .
I’ve never had a hairstylist go over this for me. One of my issues is wavy to curly hair that is straight for about three inches coming out of my scalp then curls on the ends. I have a lot of hair but the hairs are on the finer side. Also I have a slight double chin in the middle that bugs me when I look in the mirror so wearing it up makes me self conscious.
I like a short sassy pixie trimmed around my ears. I like piecy bangs. I am presently overweight...so I pray it still looks good. Thank you for detailed ideas.
Very helpful video and it confirmed that pixie is best for my boyish face. I really like the black buttoned shirt you are wearing. Where can I find one? Thanks!

I think short hair is often for attractive faces like you have . In Germany there are many unpainted faces and it looks manly unattractive in most cases. Like old men , who have finished with everything . Care and good cut is a must for every style .
Hi, Diana, this was an informative and interesting video. Unfortunately, MINI-GUIDE “5 WINNING HAIRSTYLES FOR DIFFERENT FACE SHAPES” would not load for my . Any suggestions. Thanks for your excellent style advice! Victoria
You say in your video that there is a link for an email which gives further information about hairstyles for face shapes. I cannot find this link. Where is it please?
I have very thick coarse hair and wore my hair in a pixie for 30 years. Currently my hair is about six inches longer than my picture and after a year and a half of growth, I am ready to return to my pixie. It takes forever to dry and I look like bozo the clown…lol. I love your hair and your style. Thank you for sharing.
The #1 thing you need to consider is lifestyle. If you are not going to be styling your hair, abandon any hairstyles that require it. No matter how flattering the cut is, it’s not gonna be flattering if you don’t take the time to do your hair or can’t regularly do so. Same goes for bangs. Consider practicality first.
I am just 65, fine-medium texture hair, irregular wavy, , not exact round , but also diamond shape , I couldn’t find proper hair cut, my cheek bone slightly apperent
Another thing I noticed is , that women with thicker hair wear short hair and those with thin hair prefer long hair . So you always want that what you don't have ?
Why are we always being told to minimize our natural features? If we have a long face or a wide face, why not EMPHASIZE that, not ‘minimize’ it? We are each unique and beautiful in our own way. Why not celebrate our unique qualities?
Now do age! I’m 73 this month, somewhat rounded face, wearing a bob to the jaw line. No way do I want to deal with anything longer! What’s the answer for me?
I’m always told by hairdressers bob just brushing my shoulders/ between jaw & shoulders. I’m a low maintenance person (wash pull a brush through blow dry and brush again). Why they won’t cut short layers for me. I’d look like a hedgehog. As a result my hair is always tied back off my face ( as soon as I get home from hair appointment) as I hate hair flopping around my face ( even sleeping in ponytail)
I'm 62. I HAVE NEVER found anyone who could look at my face shape and hair type/texture and give me the perfect cut and look for ME. I have an oval face, that is much heavier on the bottom: double chin, no real jaw line, etc. My hair is very fine (but lots of it) and my crown is thinning quite a bit. I wore my hair as short as yours, Diana, for decades, but grew it out over covid. Now, all I do is pull it back in a ponytail or clip just to get it off my face. Sigh. I'm stumped! 😞 😢
lovely presentation, but your camera person or editing constantly panning in and out and in and out then changing screens then close up in and then out is maddening and distracting.

I'm short and have curly hair . I always tie my hair, but now I realy want to cut my hair short. Can you give me a good hair style.
I want help too!🥰🥰🥰
Thank you
I'm more confused than ever!
Omg I hate my long hair but scared to chop it off
What about the age factor?
Why are we always being told to minimize our natural features? If we have a long face or a wide face, why not EMPHASIZE that, not ‘minimize’ it? We are each unique and beautiful in our own way. Why not celebrate our unique qualities?
Exactly!!!!
And curly hair....?
Now do age! I’m 73 this month, somewhat rounded face, wearing a bob to the jaw line. No way do I want to deal with anything longer! What’s the answer for me?

Sometimes the hair style is to lessen or cover something. A scar, uneven ears, ears that stick out. I could go on.
Hairstyle for long face and double chin, Thin Hair... Help
Same.
I don’t have high cheekbones..that makes a big difference when it comes to hairstyles.
Wonderful !!!
Pixie hair styles require more maintenance than longer hairstyles. More haircuts, more styling, more daily time.
lovely presentation, but your camera person or editing constantly panning in and out and in and out then changing screens then close up in and then out is maddening and distracting.
