  • The worst Bob haircuts for each face shape are here in one video! Are you tired of struggling to find the perfect bob haircut for your face shape? Look no further! In this game-changing video, I reveal the absolute worst bob haircuts for five different face shapes: round, square, rectangle, heart, and oval.
    Join me as I dive deep into the world of hairstyling, exposing the common mistakes that can turn a fabulous bob into a disastrous style. Say goodbye to haircuts that don't flatter your unique features and embrace a brand new look that accentuates your beauty.
    For those with round faces, we unveil the bob cuts that can make your face appear even rounder, so you know what to avoid. If you have a square face shape, we expose the bobs that can make your jawline appear harsh and unbalanced. Rectangular face shapes can be tricky to work with, but fear not, as we unveil the bobs that can elongate your face in all the wrong ways.
    I also uncover the bob haircuts that can overwhelm a heart-shaped face, making it look top-heavy or unbalanced. And for those blessed with an oval face shape, we reveal the bobs that can actually hide your best features instead of enhancing them.
    But don't worry, we don't leave you hanging with only the "don'ts." We share expert tips, tricks, and alternative bob haircuts that are tailor-made for each face shape. You'll learn how to choose the perfect bob length, layers, and angles that will transform your appearance and leave you feeling confident and beautiful.
    My goal is to empower you with the knowledge you need to navigate the world of bob haircuts and make the best decisions for your individual face shape. Whether you're looking for a sleek and sophisticated bob or a trendy and edgy style, this video is your ultimate guide to avoiding the worst bob haircuts and discovering the ones that will truly enhance your features.
    Say goodbye to haircuts that miss the mark and say hello to a bob that brings out your unique beauty. Watch this must-see video now and unlock the secrets to the perfect bob haircut for your face shape!

    I hope this isn't a crazy question, I have to wear glasses. Every couple of years, I have to deal with choosing new glasses. I think glasses and hairstyles both work together. So would it be possible to have a Tuesday with some ideas about glasses to go with these face shaped tips?

      This is a very good idea and something I have thought about every time I go to the hairdressers, as I want to make sure the haircut is going to look fitting with the shape of the glasses but obviously when they cut your hair they ask you to remove them so I always wondered if the hairstylist is taking into consideration the shape of the glasses!

      Btw this reply was meant to be to @lisacarden1309. Don’t know how it got misnomed 🤦‍♀️
      Yes. I am sure I could get a “hairstyle” that is more flattering to me. But, as just an active woman I find my boring shoulder length, no layers, no fringe (bangs) hair works in a practical manner 70% of the time. (lol not even a farmer……I just want to be able to tie my hair up so it doesn’t get in my eyes, get sweaty, look messy at the gym, while gardening, while doing hobbies, doing housework, just living). Yes…..I know I could look better……..but I can’t fathom how to make a “hairstyle” work in my life. I have tried in the past. And failed lol. I keep watching these vids to see if the advice will work for me. I will keep watching. I do like to see others transformed.
      All power to those who can do it all AND look great with a “hairstyle”.

    Clear and easy to understand. I appreciated your emphasis that your tips were not JUST about balancing "flaws" but also about deciding upon one's favorite features and playing them up. I also appreciated your description of bang varieties because I usually think of bangs as the forehead fringe variety. Now I understand why my stylists need more specific info from me.

    I never fail to learn from your videos! I cut my own hair using professional shears, etc! Have been doing this for almost 20 years. Went from a pixie (easy to cut) to a bob. I am going to modify the cut next time I trim it. My is a semi square (ha). Normally have had strong bangs but have slowly moved to combing off to the side and tapering to the sides. If I lived in your area, I would definitely be your customer. Thank you so much. Oh…just saw the comment about glasses and cuts. Look forward to you addressing this! 🤓

    This video is perfect for any woman entering a salon. If your stylist can’t explain exactly what Justin has said here, then perhaps you should consider going to a different stylist.
    What Justin is explaining are all basic truths. And unless you are “married” to a specific hairstyle please have this discussion with your hairstylist. I owned a salon for 10 years, in Chicago. I found that women who refuse to even consider changing their hairstyle usually had that hairstyle during the happiest times in their life…even if it was 30 years ago. If that’s the case, I would gently offer a new hair style, but in the end I would give them the hairstyle that insured they would leave with a smile.
    Really enjoy your videos, Justin! Brings back such memories! I loved 99% of my clients, and learned so much from the other 1%.

Try and think less about overall face shape and more about specific features of your face that you either want to draw attention away from or bring attention to. Because you can wear so many different shapes, doing that will ensure that whatever shape it is the best shape for you. I hope that makes sense.

    It all sounds logical and still does not do the whole picture justice. First thing: when you look at a person, you not only see the face shape, but rather the entire body. There is an interplay between your hairstyle and your overall shape. A tall, very slender woman with a small head should stay away from very short pixie hairstyles as they give her an overall unfavourable bird-like appearance, while waist-length hair would accentuate the waist (and the butt, as it seems to point down there). If you are a person with round body contours, stay away from round hairstyles, no matter what your face shape. Second thing: the features within the face play an important part, too. The female face in your drawings is a model of beauty with big almond eyes, a cute nose, and perfect lips; she can wear any hairstyle anyway. When you have a very straight, thin nose, straight lips, and straight eyebrows, for example, you can afford "rounder-looking" hairstyles to counterbalance that straightness; but if all your facial (and body) features are round anyway, with a crooked or a protruding nose, then stay away from styles that accentuate and repeat such features - totally regardless of your face shape. Third thing: 99% of the human race don´t look like models when it comes to facial features. If we have some flaw, which is extremely likely, having lots of hair generally distracts from it. The sheer mass of hair will be looked at first; it is an asset in itself, and the flaw in the face will gain less attention. All those people who promote short and layered hairstyle don´t take that effect into account enough, and the whole talk about round/square/rectangular/oval face shapes oversimplifies the complex task right from the start. Such things are greatly overestimated - as are hairstylists in general. They can only shorten and style hair and will only earn money if they do so. They have a natural interest in shorter hair, as wearing waist-length hair, for example, requires years of not seeing a salon. Hairstylists profit from the impatient, and from styles that require lots of maintenance.

    I think I’m going to let my hair grow some. Maybe in the fall. I’m not sure I can survive in the summer with my hair growing. But I’ve always wanted a bob. Now I know what kind I should get. This was a great video for me to figure out which one I should get.

    I have a rectangle face, I think.😕 I thought it was oval but looking at people with oval faces something was just not looking accurate. It's very confusing. I realised it was not oval because I ask people in my family and they don't give a straight answer. Or they just don't care. 😆 Now I know how to style my hair. As you said "trying to fit it into the norm." Thanks for this.

    Your pups are adorable and both have great hair! Lol. My dog is going to love the blow dryer test. I think I have had every face shape depending on weight or life cycle. 😊 The older I get the more I want to emphasize my eyes and cheek bones. What about a shorter bob, above the chin, side swept and tucked behind one ear? What face shape does that style suit the best? Thank you!

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  Рік тому +2

      Yes they are! Our pups had a GREAT time! Lol. Those bobs can work great. It really depends on where the volume sits since the length is sitting directly at the cheek area. Mainly you just want to be sure to have the volume up towards the temple area and tapered in toward the bottom. That will help you lift those cheekbones. Also, if your face is feeling narrow around the jaw and broad around the cheek bones, a length above the chin can accentuate that.

    I"m pretty sure that I have an oval face shape, and very narrow, so when my hair gets much length, unless there is a lot of shaping and layers, it makes me look drawn and old. My hair is fine, and soft with thin strands so shaping and layers make my hair look stringy. I think the best cut for my face and hair type is a jaw length blunt bob with no layers and no shaping. I could be wrong, but that is how I wear my hair now and I like it.

    Your hair dryer experiment is so comical! I love the Bernese Mountain dog and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The nice thing about your dogs is that they aren’t greedy and don’t fight over the treats. Now, I have a long face, bordering on round, with a widows peak. I also wear glasses. The only bob I like is the long layered bob minus the bangs. Because of the widows peak bangs don’t lay well. Also, my hair is wavy and gets frizzy when I blow it dry. Any suggestions?

      True, but I have a roundish face too and very thick and coarse hair. Yet I prefer a no-layers, blunt cut with a short blunt fringe, I don’t care if it enlarges my face, those side swept and layered cuts aren’t for me and I don’t like the look of them. At the end of the day everyone should just have the haircut that makes them feel better:)

      Thank you, glad I could help! Great question! There are products out there. You would want either a volumizer that you could use in your hair before you dry it to help give it control, or a wax with "high hold and low shine" that you can apply after you style it.

    Elise, consider taking olive leaf capsules or tonic for a few months to see if that helps shake these lingering colds. I so wish I could do as you suggest! I have only ever managed to "tolerate" a side parting when I had a pixie cut... as soon as it grows any longer I naturally default to a middle parting with a straight & choppy fringe... I have a roundish face with a bob below my ears & too thick to wear as one layer... I really dislike any layers that 'flick' into my face... So basically I must be my hairdressers nightmare! I also have quite a low hairline at the nape of my neck... therefore I ask for it to be cut as short as possible to stop it flicking up as it grows! I love listening to all your advice ♥ you're an inspiration.

    So much info...lol! I am slowly growing a pixie out into a type of bob that I feel length wise would be ear lobe or chin length as I have a longer face. I wear bangs but cannot stand them in my eyes so keep length above my eyebrows. I spend time outside in the high heat of rhe desert southwest caring for horses. Have not found a hairstyle yet that survives heat and sweat. Would love to have a longer hairstyle that could be caught up and kept away from my face but not good for face shape 😢😢

    • @justinhickox
      @justinhickox  Рік тому +1

      I totally hear you! As for longer shapes, you can wear a longer style with your face shape, it would just require some face framing layers to help add a bit of width and keep from a long getting your face too much. Of course, those would be harder to pull back into one ponytail however, a bobby pin on either side of the head around the ear could help get those pieces out of your face when your hair is pulled back if necessary.
