Even if there was no downside to respawning, everyone always overlooks the one glaring fact: you respawn with no gear and no ship.
You are in a fleet battle. You die and respawn in your Org's Carrack. So now you have no ship, and are not really able to contribute to the fight. Yay?
You are killed in a ground fight. You respawn in your Nursa and have no gear. So you can try to do the naked corpse run, but until you get your gear you are an easy target and not able to contribute to the fight. Yay?
So what is the big deal? In both cases, you are better off doing what we have always done: respawn at a station, grab more gear, get in another ship, and get back to the fight as fast as possible. And yet nobody is complaining about this.
IF you and your org plan ahead of time and bring extra gear, set up a staging area for ships, etc., then that is awesome and the respawning mechanic is a huge boon. If you don't then there is no impact.
Honestly, the only people impacted by the respawn mechanics are solo bunker runners. It just made their life slightly less of a hassle.
Furthermore, paying real money for ships has a much more negative impact on Org vs. Org fights than respawning on the front lines. All things being equal, the Org that bought their ships and gear with real money will be at a distinct advantage over the one that doesn't. Plain and simple. They will always win the war of attrition every time. Respawning is a minor footnote in comparison.

Fast Respawning gives the advantage to the attackers (e.g. Pirates) since they setup the battle space.

I can't use the Hornet bug, my head bonks the sides of my cockpit canopy when trying.
This is why I don't turn head bob off, so when fucky shit like that happens I have no incentive to abuse it.

The 600i Explorer with Nursa has been fun with friends. But it's not and instant win. I was flying to a Kopion cave on Hurston for a mission. My 600i hit some midair invisible geography and instantly exploded right above the cave.
We loaded into my Nursa. Which was not only alive, but still inside the 600i's wreck and bouncing all over. I waited until things settled down, exited, then tried to retrieve my body. Which had fallen through the planet along with the nose of the ship.
So there we were, naked and afraid, with nothing but noob suits and our fists against a cave full of Kopions.
So, if anyone is wondering, you cannot, in fact, punch a Kopion to death.

Med beds behind the lines of battle don’t matter unless you come prepared, which should be rewarded. If you died once than you either need a second set of armor or you’re gonna die again in the same spot you died the first time.

Currently, the time factor is the biggest punishment to dying. And that is the worst thing about the current iteration of death.
    Spawn
    Leave hospital
Gear Up(Add extra time if you have to buy gear)
    Run to tram
    Travel to spaceport
    Run to terminal
    Call in ship(Expedite)
    Wait up to 15min
    Travel to hangar
    Get in ship
    fly out
    QT travel
    etc etc
    blow up for no reason
Youre looking anywhere between 15-20min just to go back to where you died with gear. 90% of all the above is just waiting.
    That is NOT good gameplay

Pitch: We already have space magic cloning, so why not have space magic revive the dead using the player corpse. Upon full death instead of going into a respawn cycle players have an inter-thought popup asking if they wish to Wait or Respawn. Yes, this would 100% leave them with nothing to do in the immediate future, but it offsets whatever Death of a Spaceman will incur as a penalty for death/respawn.
All beds can bring back the dead so long as the corpse is in the bed, main difference between T1,2,3 is the time it take to revive. Respawn is limited to major zones and not ships. So even when exploring and your hours from a major zone people will need to cooperate and bring team mates to a medical bed if they die. (I'm ignoring game bugs here. You don't build a system assuming the game is unstable and going to crash and kill players).
Teamplay and combat, it becomes important if a team mates dies retrieving the body is top priority. Ground combat it becomes import to fight over the dead teams, friends want to tractor beam revive the body so it can be brought to a med-bed. While the enemy will want to steal it to ensure for the duration of the fight that player is not able to rejoin the fight or if they go the respawn route it will take so long to get back the fight will be over. If each team gets some of the other it can turn into a hostage negotiations about return teams and trades.
This would work the same for space ships, body doesn't get destroyed 'space magic' but could still lose a limb or two for the cool prosthetics body mods. Again team mates, orgs will have an incentive to use medical equipment in a proactive gameplay role.
Medical gameplay needs to be balanced around group play as this is an MMO. If people want to play Solo go for it but you're going to need to call random people to help you.

When you are in a battle (ground or air/space) where you just fight and rep. doesn't matter (like org wars where you are just a soldier among many), people will use alt accounts for that for sure and orgs will pay for the cost of respawning. This might get abused if you have countless respawn beds available and turn SC into a COD game or something where the enemy keeps respawning again and again quickly.

I'd say like beds themselves can be destroyed, disabled (either directly or indirectly for example, hurting ship systems) and def needed a limited supply of bio-juice. Regen should add to the strategic nature of a battle not detract from it.

2: Thanks for a new content creator to check out. Ill head there next!
3: Ibrahim Sphere's should NOT be craftable IMO. If Bioticorp is very gaurded of the tech then how are our machines able to know to craft them from materials? But at least maybe we could buy the propietary piece from them and the rest of the machine perhaps can be forged from raw. Ill have to go leave that comment on Havocs video.

I have zero issues with the repawn tweaks because it still requires having backup gear, and you're still fucked if someone blows up your Nursa. It sends your ass all the way back to home planet.
I could see medgel/supplies/whatever being requires to feed medbed spawns.
This isn't a BF/CoDification or whatever stupid buzzword people use on spectrum. This is closer to PlanetSide 1 or Foxhole where logistics matters.

Maybe you gain imprints over time. Like 1 every 30 days, so if your running low on them, you will wait for medical personnel to come save you, if you have a lot of them just respawn.
I think medical game play should be more involved. For severe injuries maybe mini games for stitching wounds, removing shrapnel, clamping vines, shocking people back to life. Unlike other professions in the game medical gameplay can be as diverse or involved as you want.

123, but I think for the next video you should change up the numbers and not tell anyone.
His video was alright, I agreed with most all of your takes. But I still hate Tarkov. ;)
I have talked about respawns, made a crappy video, and ranted on them a lot. I am happy to see respawns, I know we will get consequences. But I still feel respawns can, and should, be elaborated on even more outside of even med beds. Respawns are the life and death of most games, no pun intended. ;)

EDIT: I honestly don't know how I feel about it either. Maybe require materials for generating a new player, or death of a spaceman activates sooner in lower tier beds? There needs to be some mechanic that would make me prefer spawning in a tier 1 bed, or it needs to be restricted in some way, but I'm fine with the possibility of spawning in lower tier.

should wait on death of a spaceman, it's still way too buggy, and respawns in small ships on the short term is fine. ALTHOUGH, in the long term it's not softening mechanics, it's making them a bouncy castle. same thing happened with fight physics. the respawn only helps careless impatient solo players doing FPS, and maybe spelunking. makes no difference when dying in a ship.
now why would a solo player complain about trying a VHR FPS mission solo and dying? is it because the game needs to be changed, or is it because they don't understand the game? i don't really get the issue tbh, because, when i do go into bunkers solo, i'm not the type to Leeroy Jenkins into it.
the down but not out state sucks. really bad. the injuries aren't used to their full potential getting to the downed state, and it doesn't even have basic movement like just about every other FPS game on the market. DBNO crawling should be part of the general injury mechanic imo, but would be nice to at least have some basic af rehashed crawling mechanic to get out of immediate danger for a medic or to make it easier to recover your gear.
i still can't believe they take the naked bunker people that seriously though. i mean, you die in a bunker while fully armored and armed, so the plan is to run back into said bunker naked and with no guns expecting a different result? why? now you want to be able to repeat this process faster? why?

sooo you just found havok? kinda slow on that one brother LOL death should hurt like eve online, but hopefully not as painful as eve... and my comparison is the ships are the bodies essentially in eve, other than the implants and the pod run. something similar but not as financially painful, but it still hurts. lulz so maybe close to eve bodies losing implants and burning time. i am a bit stoned atm...

Ironically, the idea that players who don't want a punishing death experience should go play Starfield can hilariously be countered with players who DO want a punishing death experience should go play Dark souls..
There are both types of players within Star Citizen... But here's the bullseye kicker that exposes the flaw........ Only ONE side will be angry if a choice was given to play whichever way you wanted via life insurance plans.... I'll let your intelligence decide which side that is. You would do well to exercise the "Some people just want to see the world burn" saying here..
And that is a truth that some of us are smart enough to realize. Others.... not so much..

People who are good at dealing out death in a game want a Tarkov-like game. They will still be the top-tier predators, which is what they want. In contrast, most SC players (where most of the funding money comes from) are casual non-pvpers. If they have too many experiences that "suck" they quit. Then no money. Then no game. No SC. CiG is ALL about the money.
