idk if you have tried it but for a fire/healing build i like the devourers scepter, its heal is great on it
I dual wield this with the Sword of Milos for the same effect plus bleed buildup :D

@@tamasnemeth7659 at higher levels more or less yes. those aint the best when you already have the stats for the most part since you could potentially slot in something bigger instead. edit: should note that tho my answer still stands, it isnt better than the talisman you asking about since that one is situational for world exploring
If you’re going to level faith for this weapon, a good combo is “flame, grant me strength” incantation. It raises fire and physical damage, perfect for this weapon.
Golden Vow, Erdtree blessing and one of the protection buffs on top too.
I'd drop the max life dmg boost and FP talisman for double defense Talisman.
(Magic defense one and physical)
Skill is super slow so wouldn't recommend playing it on a squishy setup
Does it work on black flame spells?
Does faith even buff the damage of Weapon Art? It doesn't look like weapon art damage is affected by anything but weapon upgrade level, not even by the weapon stats itself.
@@cjloha91 Flame, Grant me Strength works for all fire related damage, including Black Flame, Madness incantations and, hell, even fire pots.
@@cjloha91 haven’t tested it but what I’ve heard I’m pretty sure it does boost all fire damage (including black flame) and physical damage by 20%
I will give my opinion on this weapon. I was having a hard time killing Radagon and the Elden Beast until I tried out this weapon and won after two attempts. So it definitely is worth looking into in my opinion.

@@demoboi1905 spam L2 on Radagon, and elden beast, get close, attack and if you have pest threads incantation, use it if hes a little bit away from you and good luck. High faith helps negitate some of the holy attacks damage.
@@demoboi1905 What helped me most is that the healing ability allowed me to save on my healing flasks. I died so many times cause I ran out so this weapon helped me out so much.
Did you level up faith or just used minimum requirements?
In your offhand you could also wear the sacrificial axe. If you hold it (even if you twohand a weapon), you get fp back as well.

Thats actually a really good idea because you could now put knights resolve on it for there 80% damg buff for incants or takers flame.

@@jagungbakar8927 of course. Hits pretty decebtly hard, but not as hard as some other greatswords, heals you for each enemy takers flame hits and each time a kill happens in the area, regardless of if you do the kill or not, and deals fire damage

This weapon is actually an Easter egg for the game blasphemous made by game kitchen. Crisanta a boss uses this sword but it's not covered in flesh. It's wrapped in red cloth.
I was searching for this very comment. Myazaki must have loved the game, because there is also an early npc in Roundtable Hold that wears very similar clothing to the penitent one's.

I decided to aim to create a penitent one-like build before I even started the game so I was pretty happy when I found this blade. Wearing the Briar Armor too, but I wonder if there's anything more fitting.

I didn't think the blasphemous blade was a reference to crisanta's weapon though but the penitent ones. The blade of the penitent one's weapon is wrapped in briars just like the blasphemous blade
This weapon ended up defining my first play through, I loved every second of it
For those wondering, yes, you can get the warrior jar shard without doing the quest, if you just kill alexander when he's in the radahn area (probably anywhere else but thats where i did it) he'll drop it, but i would recommend doing the quest cause when i killed him without doing the quest i felt horrible plus you don't get the insides
dont kill him cause when you finish his quest he gives out a couple of talismans

I know he gives the shard for his kill but I'm pretty sure you gotta complete his quest to also get the Alexander shard that is stronger then the warrior shard.
Do the quest. you get a better version of the talisman if you do it.
Yeah as some other have said, Flame Grant Me Strength is a must with this. In my pyro build, I use the Giant's Flame Seal and equip all Giant Flame incantations for maximum arsonist fun 😏
The elden bling for this weapon: the briar set.
The briar set makes it look like your armor has been infected with the hero’s flesh just like your sword because of the briars being somewhat red, and bonus, the briar set is good for stunning the enemy when you roll on something with a human build.
Other than making a good build I think I might role play as some sort of corrupted knight or something lol

@@caylinpawsey7532 yeah it's pretty slow for PvP, but last night an invader was distracted with my friend and I basically one shot him with it. So if you can land it you can probably win from there, because even if they survive it knocks them down
@@dogs-game-too my partner uses night and flame sword which also has big avoidable attacks and while normally you can dodge one of these weapons alright, dodging two separate giant nukes like this gets hard. We’ve killed most invaders by just skirmishing and having the second try to nuke.

If you free aim it it's fine in pvp, just requires slight skill which I know "oh no skill" but I just aim to the left or right of my target 50% chance they roll right into it
FYI the shard of alexander also boosts ashes of war weapon buffs, and on the moonlight greatsword also boosts the magic slash's damage!
I have saw hours of footage of this weapon and still havent seen how the fast and heavy attacks look.
it looks just like any other greatsword basic heavy attack, the only diference from other ones and this is the weapon art
The Sword talisman is great for bosses but on the way to bosses, I use the Taker's Cameo, it also restores health on kills and it stacks with the sword.
Blasphemous Blade carried me through the Endgame on my first character. That Weapon Art is just stupid against anything that can get knocked down easily, including Malenia.
Same. Best malenia my 2nd attempt with mimic + this weapon. I was really struggling doing a strength build and when I switched to this the game became pretty damn easy
That's exactly how I beat her. It was awesome watching my mimic knock her down half the time also with it. Lol.
That's what I'm planning on doing. Flame, grant me strength + Golden Vow + the fire damage tear in my Physick flask. I'm going all in, balls to the wall.
Sword of flight and shame+10 made Malenia a cakewalk. Poor, poor mimic tear...
With the Talisman heal on kill you dont need flask when clear a dungeon, cave, catacomb xD
If you haven’t, add the “Flame, Grant Me Strength” incantation. It increases physical and fire-affinity attack power.
also use the golden buff that raises attack and defense, it hits like a truck with both of those

Use flocks canvas talisman instead of the lower fp usage, it greatly boost incantations and after golden vow and flame grant me strength you have over 100% damage added

I didn't get any buff from Faithful canvas talisman on incantation buffs. I don't have Flock's canvas talisman, as I'm nowhere close to that in the game.
Here's the test, showing no change in damage from golden vow buff with and without faithful canvas talisman.
Go to Warmaster's shack and to the Trolls just south. Get their attention and hit them from the front.
Teleport back to the shack to reset incantation buffs.
Using Finger Seal +17.
Blasphemous blade +9, L2 Taker's Flame ability, one handed:
1407 - base 1 hand
1618 - Golden Vow 1.15x damage
1618 - Golden Vow w/ Faithful Canvas Talisman - no change
1688 - Flame, Grant me Strength (FGMS) 1.20x damage
1688 - FGMS + Faithful Canvas Talisman - no change
Just to prove to myself the talisman does something.

I've minmaxed the best true "melee" greatsword bleed build that can bleed normal enemies in 1 hit and bosses in 2 and it would be still worse than BB in terms of raw dps. My build is double seppuku 80 arcane occult build with Flamberg and imp blade(both with innate bleed). Bosses in ER are ridiculously stupid and very badly designed for melee with almost zero real windows for attack and constant running and dodging 90% of the time, otherwise you would be hit instantly for 70-90% of health with crab buff on 60 vigor with full medium 50+ armour. Spamming the high hyperarmiur/AoE/stagger/heal/damage
skill from afar would net you A LOT more "real" dps than any other greatsword would possibly allow you to do.(No summons of course).
And this is on top of the fact the final boss is not bleedable.
Vs who this is bad?
Mogh? Malenia? Malekith? Elden beast? Godskin duo? Really tell me the boss that is better for slow and clunky jump attack melee spam after sepuku than this weapon.
I dual wield the blasphemous blade with the sword of milos for the fp regen and enemy debuff.

This is the weapon that carried me during my first playthrough. Absolutely crazy especially if you and your mimic tear do the ash of war at the same time.

If you want even a little bit more damage, you can get the flame-shrouding cracked tear for your wondrous physick as it temporarily boosts fire attacks

Hard opinionated disagree on the look of the weapon. Im a long time darks ouls fan and i really enjoy tge dark creepy weapons such as this. Buuuut otherwise love your videos and this build looks awesome!

@@m0inster815 Have you even used this weapon bud? It's even demonstrated in this video! The weapon art heals you irrespective of whether or not an enemy dies, as per it's weapon description. The more damage you deal, the more it heals you. Go test it.
The weapon art heals per hit and if you kill them with the weapon art it heals more. Normal and heavy attacks don’t heal unless it’s on a kill. But yes the weapon art heals on hit. It’s in the weapon description as well.
@@nox_luna idk why this is so confusing. Every kill you get with this weapon gives you health. Every HIT with the weapon ART gives you health as well. It is literally stated in the weapon description, DUDE.
The Takers Cameo you get after progressing far into the Volcano Manor quest line restores health with each enemy killed, it’s CRAZY combined with the Ritual Sword Talisman in my opinion.
You can use the Sword of Milos as well to get FP regain after kills. Just gotta be able to use Basphemous and Milos at the same time.
Third way to get to rykard- virgin abductor in renallas area teleports you there when it grabs you. That’s how I got there early game lol was so scary
You can also get stolen by a iron virgin on the bottom of the water wheel in the academy to enter the manor. Also that is the opposite of my build I am using 2 Hoslows whips turned to frost with an int dex build. (If you find the dead servent in the lake area, you can kill an NPC there to get a hoslovs whip very early)

I run this with sword of Milos in my off hand for double leech it’s really good though I am at a higher level I use great shield talisman instead of fp regen because it’s a melee build plus that’s what the power stance with sword of Milos is for. Favorite great sword hands down!
a good one to use also is winged sword or rotten winged sword as its that same but with levels so if you spam it with high fp you can reach max damge fast

Add the Sword of Milos I your off hand, I seem to get the Ancestral Spirit's Horn buff. So with both swords in hand you get health back and mana back.

Was having trouble with the rot goddess. This build... did not really care about her moveset
Underrated weapon. Its godly in pve. Wrecks Malenia, perma staggers her when you and your mimic go ham, and the ash has the range to melt her in phase 2 when she's the giant flower
I beat her first try because of this
I’m still having trouble due to not using a mimic unless I really need it, but after I got the sword I always get her to p2
@@rajanbirsidhu5650 easy way to kill her with no mimic is the dual twinblade bleed build. Rips through her. I used this on ng+3, was super op.
There's also a fire damage increasing crystal tear from an erdtree avatar at the minor erdtree in caelid
A few thinks that take this weapon further with just a little more setup.
The incantation golden vow + flame grant me strength both grand dmg buffs for the sword, and also stack with each other so you can cast both before you begin the weapon art.
Lastly, the mixing flask you use. I'm not sure if there is a better combination (maybe of your stats are already at soft caps) but I use the faith boosting tier + the fire damage boosting tier.
Overall, can be a bit too heavy a setup when you are in the boss fight, so if you want to cut a small amount of dmg to save some time / fp, just use golden bow before entering the arena, and pop your mixing flask at the start of the battle / 2nd phase. Both buffs last a lot longer than flame grant me strength.
I use the exact same buffs and flasks. I went back to the crusible knight just before the twin gargoyles and almost 1 shotted him with the weapon art.
Hey, Good idea, I use mine with eliminating Fp Cost and Fire dmg increase. So Good in Boss fights

I’ve been using this weapon and I kind of feel bad. I’m thinking about switching to Blaidd’s royal greatsword because stunlocking him with the ash of war made me feel too overpowered

You can do even more damage if you use (flame Grant me straight) and (golden vow)
golden vow removes the flame grant me straight so i recommend using the flame only

I think it works like ds3. The effect is not removed just the visual, you can only have so may visual effects one at once.
Try using royal knight's resolve (offhand) + alexanders shard + fire scorpion charm + sword of night and flame fire stance + flame grant me strength usually 5000+ in one hit, stack commanders standard buff and red feathered sword and you're really cooking.
So I’ve been running something like this, but with Sword of Milos on my back. It gives you FP on kills.
So it’s a pretty cool regen build with loads of damage.
My first play through I used this weapon but I felt too cheese using it for everything LOL
That's why I like From's NG+ mechanic. My 1st playthrough I literally cheesed everything (I couldn't get past) with the Sword of Night and Flame and the Mimic Tear just because I wanted to experience the scenery and the endgame. Now with NG+ I can take my time, learn the fights and try to solo all of them.
Try Moonveil. This looks very similar in cheese level, but imo Moonveil is better. Faster animation, better scaling, bleed. I had to respec for ng+ because it was just too good.
Love the build but would recommend instead of sword talisman use lord of blood and white mask helm with seppuku dagger in offhand gets u 30% increase instead of 10%
Any suggestions for an exact stat build for this setup?
I don’t like following guides for builds BUT since this is the first time I played a FS from launch I highly recommend it cause even know I’m usually late to the party I know how FS likes to nerf ALOT of things!

What I found about the sword is it heals even if you never fought anything. The amount of times I walk through the open world and my sword just spontaneously heals me is kinda stupid, lol.
Lets me know that there's things going on out of eyesight.

Very sure. I have maybe 3 messages in the game and their rating hasn't changed in a while.
Those cases an alert also comes with the heal but that never happened when the sword heals me obviously.
@@Edanite Prolly bugged. I also get FP back everytime something dies in a 200 mile radius with the talisman mentioned.
When monster near you are fightning each other you get rune when they die and it will proc weapon passive etc. Same for monster that fall off near you and die.
You can just fuck Alexander up the moment you see him after knocking him out of the hole and u don't have to do the whole quest if u don't want to

Golden vow, flame grant me strength and fire cracked tear in wondrous physick for max damage maybe other stuff to buff too but this is what I use and clear 6k damage
You know Fromsoft hooked you the way they wanted to when you look at builds like this and think "Eh, it's strong but I'd get bored."

If yes, I assume with another blasph blade, but what if you are on NG and don't want to cheat by having a friend give you a second? What other greatsword would you use? Iron great sword infused with fire/faith?
Poor alexander, but i needed that talisman. Been using sword of Night and
Flame since day 1. Recently working in this sword and the pew pew shield too situationally. Really love it for farming runes on the ridge, more consistent then N&F flame sweep and don't really like spell bomb either, not good at aiming it to make it fast.
I have been using this for a long time now and it is so amazing, truly for filling the evil paladin fantasy

If you’re going to to sacrifice damage negations just use the radagon soreseal talisman instead of the fire one it’ll give it a slight more damage boost as it effect strength and faith.
it’s good but the weapon ash is slow and misses a lot, can be very much useless against aggressive enemies. hoarfrost stomp is just all around better and you can put it on almost anything. running dual wield beasman curved swords with frost scaling, completely broken dps
Am i the only one who had an unreasonable hatred for Rykard? He wasn’t even that hard i just find it idiotic how he kept spamming stupid ass moves, but the actual fight was pretty cool
Idk I think the sword looks kinda of cool. It’s kinda knarly but in a good way.
I think I may have found a "free health" bug with this sword that makes it to where you don't need as many red flasks. If there is a bloodstain on the ground, have the sword out and watch the death replay. If the person in the replay falls off of a cliff and dies, it heals you. I don't know why this only applies to bloodstain shadows that fall off cliffs versus those that are killed by enemies but it has worked for me 100% of the time. Curious if anyone else has experienced this. I kept wondering why I was being randomly healed while walking around.

This was happening since day 1 . Bloodstain heals you if the ghost dies on a horse tho.
you need to either put it in the description or get some time stamps. trying to come back to this video after i've already watched it and trying to just see what the talisman's are called again and its a huuuuuuuuuuuge pain in the ass. The video is also about 8 minutes longer than it really needs to be.

I dont think you need to do the oil thing at all. I never did that and alexander appeared at the magma wyrm and later.
This weapon carried me through the last boss fight after my black knives disappointed me with piss poor damage.
Speaking of needing the oil pots for Pot Bro questline. Did you try using an oil pot on an enemy or boss then cutting loose with the weapon art on this build? Curious how much higher that number goes.
you're level and stats make zero sense to me...the fact that you have 231 total stat points...take away your level and that leaves 119 base stat points...literally how? Even factoring in Godrick's arc and a +5 talisman, that still leaves you with 109 base points, which no starting class has... Even adding up all base stats for each class, when you add up all base stats plus starting level...everyone is almost 30 stat points below what you have...how is that possible? Can you tell us what talismans you are using here?

I used Moonveil+10 for the most part of my playthrough, felt it was too strong and switched to faith and got "Blasphemous Blade +9" thought it was cool when I got it (I'm originally a Prophet class) and started Crumbling Farum with it, I died multiple deaths (around 30 tries) from the Boss Entrance Tree Sentinel' thinking my build was now balanced as I was having a hard time now. Suddenly when I got to Maliketh, I defeated him in 1 round with this sword 🤣 like wtf

This was the weapon that got me through end game then when I beat the final boss and got his weapon started power standing with those too weapon and must say it’s amazing!
Power stancing Str weapons.. is that worth it? You don‘t get any bonus on Stats.
i found this a litle too slow and FP hungry for my taste so i went for the hoarfrost stomp weapon art, less fp usage and spammaple, relatively fast casting time and does almost same damage if not more for enemies week to frost and more Aoe. only downside that its not stunlocking enemies
Also the weapon are rarely works, you’ll see.

I’m not a huge fan of the looks of this great sword either but I have loved using it. I was using the Winged Scythe for most of my play through (faith/dex build) and switched to this recently.
do you want more damage ? here is level 2 of this build
switch to magic damage type,
switch to Ruins Greatsword or Starscourge for teh best magic weapon arts
switch the scorpion talisman to the magic version
now you can use all the magic OP stuff to boos your damage like Terra Magicus for another 35%
you can use the moon spells to debuff magic resistance
you can use the all knowing mace to debuff magic resistance
+ noone ever mentions the Aroamtics, why ?
the only think you loose is the heal ... but since now yoy can do so much more damage, who needs heal :)

pair this with Milos and you get more SP back, and you basically never run out of SP or HP
Beat malenia with this Sword and mimic tear. Incredible
The passive on this weapon is super OP in pvE if you use other builds and pump endurance, I love it personally
