Surprised the final tier wasn't called "Court of Owls". Also, isn't it poetic that Bob Kane was known to the public as the face of Batman's creator all these years while Bill Finger, a writer just as influential wasn't known till years after his death? It's like Bruce Wayne and Batman with Kane being the public face and Finger being the unsung hero in the shadows...
Never got why they were called the court of owls and not the parliament of owls... that’s the actual collective noun for owls.

bill finger wasn’t as influential as bob kane. he was more. bob kane came up with the name “the batman” along with a blonde man with a red suit and black cape as its design. bill finger did everything else to establish the character.
What bummed me out about the cancelled Damian Wayne game is that 1. It was actually going to feature Two-Face as a lead villain, which I think was great since he was a chump in the Arkham series, and 2. The Nemesis System they were going to add to it seemed like a good way to refresh the game and make it more dynamic.
Nah, he was a pain in the ass to beat with Catwoman.

There is a comic book series about the GCPD that is pretty good. It’s called Gotham Central.

Its was confirmed by the CW Crisis On Infinite Earths Aftermath Show with Kevin Smith that the Burton films and The Schumaker films exist on seperate Earths (Earth 89: Batman & Batman Returns, Earth 97: Batman Forever, & Batman and Robin)

It has been retconned recently that they are two separate cannons. With Batman 89s comic series only acknowledging Batman and Batman Returns.
I love how the bottom level was told from the perspective of a GCPD detective, it's unique and a great way to show these theories that are crazy enough to get whoever wrote them thrown into Arkham

It's a picture of Killing Joke Joker pointing to a terrified Batgirl adorning a Heath Ledger style Joker smile. Many thought this was in really bad taste since it kind of glorifies the implied sexual assault of Barbara Gordon. It's kind of been overshadowed by the new controversy in the animated feature but it was still interesting to see when it happened because it was 2015 when these types of controversies really began to make headlines.

They're not individual countries, no matter how much they claim to be, and they won't be until they're independent from England. In America, those are called states and nobody has pretended they're independent lands since the Civil War. They're all owned by England, and are an extension of England's territory. If anyone from those places has a problem with it, vote for independence from that hellhole.

Is "Alfred is the real villain" a reference to Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader? In that story, there's a universe were Alfred (and his actor friends) pretend to be Batman's Rogues' Gallery in order to boost the spirits of an incompetent Bruce Wayne.

Scooby-Doo Meets Batman is a massive part of my childhood and I still watch it regularly. The joke about it being fortunate that this isn’t a more violent incarnation of joker is particularly funny because Batman repeatedly tells the Mystery Inc. gang to not get involved because the Joker and the Penguin are dangerous but they never actually do anything particularly violent. The most they ever do in the whole film is shake somebody particularly violently and threaten him.
I would love to see a fancomic that's just "Velma (series) meets The New 52 Batman and Joker", leading to the cast getting absolutely butchered by death god Joker.

Because that's the problem. The line wasn't written to be funny. It was written by Frank to make Batman sound cool and badass. People hate it not because it's not funny, but because it's not befitting the story he's trying to tell and indicates that Frank Miller is a wrinkly, oversized 12 year old. Frank Miller thought that that line was badass. The fact you find it hilarious is a damning indictment of it.
Something about seeing Fred Jones in that Killing Joke panel, in that pose just kills me.
My favorite take on the Harley pregnancy test stuff is that at a point she was pregnant, but during a fight with Batman, him attacking her caused the fetus to die, which would have lead to a big dilemma about his no-kill policy, but was probably abandoned since it would probably get the team into some hot water on the abortion debate.

Rocksteady is an English company, the Arkham games are English games, abortion has been legal in UK for like, 60 years..
I don't think it was political this time. Paul Dini wrote Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight. He had no involvement in Arkham Knight because Rocksteady refused to give him enough time to work. So Rocksteady just threw all his plans in the garbage.

Pretty great video didn't think covering a franchise this varied in disjointed continuites and unrelated projects would make an iceberg even possible! Details are juicy and visuals are tops. Only thing that bugged was the reoccurring shaming of enjoying cheese cake, butt shots, and other eye candy in Batman media. There's already way too much shaming and bashing of it these days and we're all really sick of it would have been better to embrace it or give it some positivity counter to the oversaturation of bitterness. But again still crazy informative video and entertaining prime example of info-tainment.
having a scene in which a character out of character just strips naked for no real reason is not good. As is having ass shots of a character who gets sexually assaulted like twenty minutes later.

I agree that the batwoman “controversy” was incredibly dumb, but I’m gonna level with you, the Batwoman show is legitimately terrible, not because it’s a female-led show like I think you’re trying to say, but it’s a terrible show because it’s a terrible show. Believe me, if it was a male-led show that had the same writing, amateur camerawork and awkward line delivery it’d be the worst show ever. No rational person would think a show is bad because it’s female-led, especially a comic book fan. Perfect example would have to be the animated Harley Quinn, it’s funny as fuck, incredibly badass and can definitely tug at your heartstrings at times!

@@bingobongo8701I know. That was part of my point. It's hated _that much_ and it STILL didn't get as much hate as Batwoman. That's why it's disproportionate. Batwoman was hated _even more_ for simply existing than The Flash is for everything. Hating The Flash hasn't gone beyond DC Comics fans. Hating Batwoman became far more than just folks who remotcare about the comics.

That incarnation is leaps and bounds above the Jim Balent version, that's for sure. Fun fact: if you ever see the black and white pre-ink art of Balent's Catwoman, he doesn't actually draw her suit. He just draws her naked in a mask and lets the inker put the suit on her. The inker literally always has to censor the nipples.
