Thank you for mentioning Death Note. I’ve been curious about it for some time and found that my library has the entire series. Definitely going to check it out!
Look Closer was the best PT I've read in a long time. The writing is just so spot on. Just borrowed Butcher and Wren. LOVED your commentary on The Perfect Child, you nailed it!
I'm actually surprised that you didn't like Lightning. I've been reading Dean Koontz ever since I was 14 and it is in my top 3. I hope you don't give up on him just yet as he's one of my favorite authors. I'd recommend checking out Intensity, Watchers, Odd Thomas, Strangers, Twilight Eyes, Hideaway, The Bad Place, Night Chills, and Mr. Murder at some point. Take your time. I hope you enjoy at least one of these. 😀
i've been in the middle of All Rhodes Lead Here for like a year now but i remember EVERYTHING still surprisingly, so I'll def be finishing it before 2023, but I could already totally see what you mean about it having the same vibes as The Simple Wild!
I agree with the Butcher and the Wren. The ending was im like 'yeah girl, if youre given the chance again with him, Im so sure that I am not there to pick up the book and read whaf happens..." Its trying so hard to be like Hannibal like-ish and,the author did even mention it! :)
Before you give up on Dean Koontz try his book Intensity. It’s the only book I’ve read by him and it was pretty wild if I remember correctly 😳 If you’ve ever seen the movie High Tension then that’s almost exactly how it is, I’m convinced that the movie was inspired by the book.
Gabby! Lucinda Berry has an additional chapter for The Perfect Child! I think there is a video out there with her reading it. It may be on her website.
i love morbid so much. definitely my favorite podcast and i was let down. i will read more if she writes more. i was confused by the time difference or jump or whatever it was. and the end really had me like ??? seriously ??
Currently reading All Rhodes Lead Here while watching this video & ughh yes, I'm 200 pages in & I know I'm going to already love it!! It's my first MZ but def not my last love your videos Gabby!
Omg!!! I absolutely LOVED IT GIRL-by Ruth Ware!!! Maybe even more than In my Dreams I Hold a Knife!!! LoL it’s really true No two people read the same Book that’s why Reading is so Fun 😘😘😘
I loved Look Closer - one of my faves this year! So sad you did not like Lightning! Try Fear Nothing and Seize the Night by Koontz. Same characters - Loved the main character and the dog! But I did Seize better and they can be read out of order. Audible was great too!
I read 16 books in September, 5 manga and 1 short stories. My favorite book was “ The birds that stay”. Great video as usual and I’m glad you’re enjoying death note it’s one of my favorite mangas.
You mentioned 11/22/63. Remember that scene when he danced with Sadie from the future? Wasn't that so cool? He could tell she remembered something, but what?
Gabby which book do you like more? The Wall of Winnipig and Me or All Rhodes Lead Here? I've never read from that author and I'd like to start from either of those two!
OMG. The Lightning sounds so similar to Golblin (Kdrama) if you didn't enjoy that book much I definitely recommend watching Golblin! Its one of the best Kdrama for me. 💕💕💕
Hey, I need some help. You recommended a book maybe last year or so and I can't for the life of me remember the title. Basically a young man or teenager meets a girl and either finds out she is immortal or a vampire. The cover of the book is a picture of them both sitting on a bench. It's a bit vague but can you remember the title?
Here's what I read in September Swan song by Robert mccammon Lord of chaos by Robert Jordan Natural disaster by ginger zee her first memoir Cell by Stephen king The regulators by Stephen king Fifty words for rain by asha lemmie The score by elle Kennedy Second first impressions by sally Thorne From bad to cursed by lana Harper Skyward flight by Brandon Sanderson Yes no and I love you by roni loren Age of legend by Michael j Sullivan The stone knife by Anna Stephens The collective by alyson Gaylin Sailing to sarantium by guy gavriel kay Life's too short by abby Jimenez Six short stories by John Steinbeck
Look closer reminds me of the real crime of a woman (fairly recently too), that was found hung naked in a mansion (maybe in California?). Her boyfriend was very rich, lost his only son by complete accident at his home while she was supposed to be watching him. I know the rich man's brother was being strongly looked at as this lady's killer, even though for some weird reason the police thought she had committed suicide, and I think that brother was about to get indicted for the poor woman's murder.
I just finished Daisy Darker and I still don’t know how I feel about the twist. Without giving away any spoilers I think it’s one that’s just overused. I guess it does go with the creepy Halloween vibe though. I liked it okay, but I really wanted to love it.
Hi Gabby. How do you read all these books? I usually read 5/month. I read the perfect child, and I gave it 3 stars, I enjoyed it. Look Closer sounds good I just put it on my TBR. Thanks for your reviews!
Gabby you should try watch anime, the spy x family anime is high quality too! You should put on your list “Kotaro Lives Alone”, it’s about a 4 year old child who lives alone in a apartment building. I love it so much 🥺
For a book about a movie set you should check out The Remaking by Clay McLeod Chapman. But I highly recommend the audiobook. There’s some sentences that are kind of repeated, like to be spooky, I think the writing is just better to listen to than read. And Clay himself reads at the end, and he did a great job I thought! Thanks for all the reviews! Edit: the Goodreads ratings aren’t great. This book is just a good time with a great premise and layers to that premise, with lore mixed into it. I really think it’s the kind of spooky book to listen to throughout a day or two rather than sit and read for days. It’s not one of the best books I’ve ever read. I liked his Whispering Down the Lane more, but so many parts of The Remaking have stuck with me, and I loved all the film talk. Another horror/film book is Experimental Film by Gemma Files, I hear you have to be into film to really enjoy this book. Also Standalone by Paul Michael Anderson and Camp Ghoul Mountain Part VI are some interesting meta slasher horror film type books. I went on a search for books like these about a year ago and was happy with all the creativity out there on the storylines! Nice change of pace from thrillers. Ghoul Mountain is one of those books that you start to question if it really was a film franchise because of how it’s written.
I read 17 books in September and my favorite has to be Electric Idol by Katee Roberts. I want to read a MZ book but what one do I start with All Rhodes Lead Here or one of her other ones? Help please and thank you
I recommend you to watch the live action of Deathnote after you read the manga. The 2006 Japanese version is so much better and another one in 2008 w/c is abt L's backstory.
If you want a good thriller/ crime book, i recently read 'The Bone Keeper' by Luca Veste. I loved it. it gave horror, cult, ritual vibes and i gave it 5 stars. Love the video gabs :3
Gabby, I think you and I have been scammed on your channel. Please let me know if I did not win a contest from you! The reason I say this is one of the other channels that I watch Posted the very same thing! I thought I had received a message from you Gabby saying that I needed to contact you on an app called telegram. Please let me know.
Thanks Gabby for writing back. They asked me for my address in order to mail the prizes and to.d me I would be responsible for the postage. I never gave them any info regarding my bank account. With my name, address and phone number they were able to call online banking and change my email address and phone number. Since our town is small there are only four banks in town; I’m thinking they called all of them until they found where I bank. They hacked my online accounts and were able to get my debit card number. They then shopped online running up a charge of almost a thousand dollars. Luckily I view my bank account online and saw the charge pending. The bank told me that the charge had to post first before the fraud division would take over and it would take five to twenty-five work days to return my money. As soon as I finished talking to the bank I called the one line store where the order was made and was able to have them cancel the order. They told me the money would be refunded to my account in 3 to 5 days. It’s amazing how much of our information is available online if someone knows where to look.

From the premise "The Little Child" looks like an Orphan and if you haven't do watch the 2009 movie.
Try Dean Koontz Book INTENSITY
I read 8 books in September and my favorite was ACOMAF :)
That's a bummer about The Butcher and the Wren
Loved this ♥️
try more Dean Koontz. I love his older books on audio. Try Intensity...its, well, intense.
I only read 2 books in September!! I also had a baby though lmao
Please! Please! Please! Don’t give up on Dean Kootnz!
Have you read The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose?
I got the same two books in my BOTM box!
i need to check out ‘the perfect child ‘ but endings are soo important to me & i dont want to waste my time if the ending isnt all that😟
You sound like Jennette McCurdy and I love it
Gabby you should try watch anime, the spy x family anime is high quality too!
You should put on your list “Kotaro Lives Alone”, it’s about a 4 year old child who lives alone in a apartment building. I love it so much 🥺
gabby do you read any detective series that you enjoy?????
talk about crime and detective series will you????❤👍😁
What do you all enjoy the most about reading?
I'm currently reading a romance that's takes place on a movie set so idk if you would be interested in that, it's Reel by Kennedy Ryan 💕
I have seen the show of Death Note but only one episode. Never read the manga.

I just turned 20 on September 30!! Not a teenager anymore woohoooo. Do y'all have any book recs about life in the 20s? Let me know if you do
I love your videos
Lightning is a better audiobook. Dean Koontzs' best book is probably the taking, or false memory.
🥰🥰🥰
Nice ☺️❤️
Intensity by Dean Koontz is better and more terrifying
📚📚📚📖📕👍👍👍
💜💜
I finally had to just decide Ruth Ware wasn’t for me :/ I’ve read a handful of her books and I always end up being a little disappointed in the story
Try fullmetal alchemist
I'm confused. Do you not work? How do you read this much? Unless you're just skimming...?
This channel is her job 😊. So fun right?
Making these videos is her full time job. Gabby used to have a nine to five job but she quit some months ago to focus on making youtube content.
😍
Ruth Ware is not an author for me. I've never liked any of her books. Why doesn't she try something original!?
I hated The Perfect Child. I could not stand the insufferable characters!
