Turned out fantastic and I think it's cool once in a while to go with the "I'll just do it!" mindset. Plus, it's a big monster, it could still be used on the tabletop.

@@BlackMagicCraftOfficialIt would probably be a challenge similar to an adult dragon. Just don't do it too often and something like that makes for an awesome boss battle.
I just wanted to thank you for Idols. Watching you create it and how well it has done has helped me. I was making my own game for a while and shelved it, working on it every few months when I had a moment. When Idols was being shown off I had to stop because it was too similar in several aspects. I have been reworking some of the gameplay to distinguish itself more and it is turning out better than before.
I soo understand the struggle with UA-cam and payouts, also feels like those of us that do craft related things are not being pushed as much. The guy turned out great!
What a bummer to hear about youtube platform is gone shit for content creators like you. You're one of the first and best dungeon crafters that is also responsible for people getting in the craft too. You deserve much love and support.
Oh, for smoothing, especially FDM prints. Resin and babypowder also works. It is a little more liquidity but I think it gives a smooth finish. 2 or 3 coats with sanding on large projects/cosplays.
I’ve been following this channel for about 7 year, maybe even 8. Every now and then I go through the old videos to redo some old projects I did when I first started crafting. Thank you for all the years of inspiration!
I always thought, that those excellent paint jobs in some pictures in the Internet are based on a bigger scaled model. And I think, if I get my Hands on a 3D Printer, to print some out, I will do it because I like to watch the process... But great Video, Jeremy! It's a hard time for everyone so it's more than ever needed that the Lighthouse of hope, our shared hobby, shines bright! 😊😊
I've done this several times! Every Christmas for the past few years I scale up my DnD players Character minis to about 8" tall! Always makes a good present for nerds! :)
What a delightfully gruesome fellah. Really appreciated you showing what didn't work alongside what did in this and having fun with scale. You can almost hear the sloshy putrifaction just looking at them, absolutely perfect.
So glad to have your content back on the weekly schedule. I always find myself looking to see if you've posted something new every time I open youtube. I enjoy your creativity and your willingness to share your creative process with us, blunders and all.
I like that you "experimented" and "identified" mistakes. Mistakes are the best way to learn as well as discover new and cool "ish". I'll keep stopping by as long as you can keep making them .. appreciation bruh
Maybe it's just me? I actually preferred the model before the wash. Having said that; It's not about what I preferred! It's still really tastefully done and the fact that you went through the entire process (including mistakes) says a lot about you as a person. Thanks for bringing us along!
I’m glad you’re back! You’re a great guy and have always appreciated your craft. You were one of the first channels I watched when I was starting out and I’m always happy to see you upload. Don’t over work yourself please!
I've been thinking a bunch about scale lately. Between Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings, which is larger than the 28mm/32mm scale I usually work in, and the idea of 3d printing vast armies of 15mm fantasy critters I'm excited to get into all sorts of different projects... then I joined a 40k league at the FLGS. Oh well, all those sizes can wait I guess. Mutated space elf zombies for me right now. Great video, btw!
Painting a big creature in an unhealthy flesh colour is so much fun. You can use any colour/wash which is vaguely skin coloured (red, pruple, blue, orange, whatever...) and if it doesn't look right, just cover it with a more regular skin colour.
Love this, it's kinda funny, that i'm actually working on a scaled up mini myself while i'm watching this, started a project of painting a representative from each of the original legions of space marines, but scaled up 175%. Painting the 4th marine of the 18 (not doing them in any particular order), a salamander after doing an iron warrior, dark angel and ultramarine.
Over the last 6 months, as a hobbyist and 3d printer I've almost entirely gone to 200% scale. Double-size miniatures remind me of GW's old Inquisitor game and have been far easier to paint letting me print and paint fewer models and take more time over them. I'd welcome more adventures in different scales on the channel...be it miniatures or terrain
Wow! This morning I purchased a 54mm mini an Orc Barbarian to represent my character when he is enlarged-person from a potion or an ally spell! Then your video popped up 😅 awesome!
Been revisiting the cheap mat series, I love it for my DnD game. Ive take to tracing a 28mm grid on it with a different shade of whatever the main color is. Works amazing.
I was seriously just going over some models i wanted to kit bash, and i got to see them in real life at the gsmr store today, literally only a day from me looking at them. . . But i was so disappointed. So small. I had forgotten how tiny those models were. Wishing i could blow them up. I remembered seeing you made this vid. .. i am jealous now 😅
It’s cool that you showed an awesome result using techniques that don’t require a ton of skills. Too bad you haven’t done a showcase at the end, I’d love to see how those paint splotches in close 😉
WE play DnD at a much larger scale than DnD requires because I like making minitures and terrain look as detailed as possible and playing at a large scale helps it also lets more toys be viable options, wrestling figures become instant titans for instance.
It's SO good to see you back! Always looking forward to and enjoying your vids :) Also, nice seeing you do something different, always good for the mind to try out new things. Great paintjob - might just need to go look up those STLs ;) ❤
ok... I've seen way too much videos on Idols of Torment now and I want this game. I "just" need to buy a 3D printer first as I'm based in Europe but, I'm pumped for this game. As always, Great and inspiring video man!
This is what I'm doing now- stopped buying GW stuff completely, and now I just print 1-1 scans of them or proxies out at 2-3 times the size. Larger things are so much more fun to work on and then display. It's crazy.
I like to take action figures of wrestlers and cover them with apoxie sculpt to make 12-inch figures . They have lots of articulation and are easy to pose. Epoxy glue the joints when a pose I like presents itself. Then I fabricate armor, helmets, and weapons.
I like that you take the time to show "failures/mistakes" to remind us that its OK to be human! Thanks for what you do Jeremy!
Your lack of restraint is what I love about your videos. I love this!
I highly doubt I'll ever own a 3d printer and I don't even own a hot glue gun but watching stuff like this is endlessly fascinating.
