At the same time, I decided to make the switch over to 4K and capture hardware, and that came with way more hassle than I anticipated. :)

You are an expert, but what I am noticing is that your attention to detail carries over to video making. The next time I try to produce a video of some sort, I am going to think of you and the way you did this video. Watching some of this video for the second time, I noticed your "Caution: Wear you some gloves" sign on the corner of your table. Love it. The photography, sound effects, music selection and extra details alone would make this a really good video but there's more. Adding a heavy dose of knowledge, personality, humor, branding and a great voice have truly put this video over the top. Excellent, excellent work.

That spider trick is what we use on surveys! To see how many spiders are actively hunting in what weather :D that little jumping spider was lifting her legs to show how big she was, saying 'dont eat me im too big and scary!!' Too cute ^^

5:45 Whenever doing super complex glue ups with violins/musical instruments... & all kinds of random things.. I love using suran wrap. the kitchen stuff will work.... but it's a bit more convenient using the plastic wrap that comes on a little handheld wheel thing. Used for packing and shipping. It's about 6 in wide and several miles long. Infinitely easier to handle in that form in my opinion. No matter how complex the surface...You can wrap it... Bringing several pounds of pressure per wrapped layer if needed. You can be as delicate or apply as much pressure as you want. It's incredible and insane amount of pressure possible with multiple tightly pulled wraps. and after 2 or 3 wraps it will bring in even pressure from all sides. There are many instances in instrument restoration and elsewhere in the workshop... Where I would need hundreds of tiny little clamps all-in-one cramped space. But wrapping it with Saran wrap gives good even pressure... No matter the shape or size... It brings pressure into every little nook and cranny. Sometimes if there's a big dip or valley or other strange texture you might have to use little balls of it wadded up underneath as spacers or something to get started. But in your case... With molding this putty stuff... That basically makes you were spacer so everything is even and you can literally just give it one or two wraps and you're good to go. Violin bow tip restoration is an instance where this stuff comes in handy. You can have a very expensive multiple tens of thousand-dollar violin bow with a broken tip, or crack elsewhere... And even the fancy precision bow fixtures and clamps that cost a few hundred dollars per clamp won't work (yes seriously... Specialized instrument clamps can get crazy insanely costly,) In those instances I usually use Saran wrap or sometimes even step up to that flexible rubber wrap used on tennis racket handles or the thin stuff used in surgery. Also... "glad press'n seal" is a new product which brings all of the usefulness of Saran wrap but without any of the frustrating aspects. I know it sounds insane to go on about products like this but this stuff truly is a game-changer and a must-have. It's reusable, sticks only on one side, and can be crumples up into ball countless times and the easily stretch back out to be used again. It really is the wheel reinvented (at least when it comes to plastic wrap.)

Something about it reminds you of many people you grew up with and idolized. A parent friend teacher or someone on TV or seen in a video. You somehow channel these memories. Third is the background noises and music you have a great talent in choosing them. They are unobtrusive but also very pronounced. It truly is a talent to be able to do this. I find myself going back through and looking at content you put out long ago, over and over. Every episode is like going gem hunting and finding a pocketful each time. This is the type of videos a toy guy like me, LOVES! Thanks for sharing the tips and tactics used to make a custom figure. Solvent instead of water, gotta give that a try! I've been on a custom figure making kick as of late.. being able to find some of the 1/12 scale figures at salvage stores has made it far more affordable. I've also given dyeing a figure a try. I must say I loved how a couple of them came out. The softer plastic takes the synthetic dye great and saves painting joints.

I just found your channel in my feed a week or so ago. Im not even into crafting but, I like action figures. I didn’t even realize this kit bashing//home brew figure making thing existed. Love this! Sampling is so awesome. Honestly I just really enjoy hearing you talk. It makes me feel like everything is going to be alright. If you get bored of making videos I think a LOT of people would love to just have you read more books. I LOVE the frog and Toad and other stuff you've done so much.
I love Crafsman! I show my scouts the spider trick when we go camping. Every bush you look into there are hundreds of eyes staring back at you!

This is the type of videos a toy guy like me, LOVES! Thanks for sharing the tips and tactics used to make a custom figure. Solvent instead of water, gotta give that a try!
I've been on a custom figure making kick as of late.. being able to find some of the 1/12 scale figures at salvage stores has made it far more affordable. I've also given dyeing a figure a try. I must say I loved how a couple of them came out. The softer plastic takes the synthetic dye great and saves painting joints.
This is the only channel I give consistent thumbs up.
