They dropped 4 hulks on me at the start of the mission certainly a bruh moment
I was thinking it's kinda nuts that this isn't an unusual number of bots.

I think it's referring to that helldievr broadcast showing an automoton stealing a baby from their parents rather than it being an automoton baby.

Eliminated yes, extinct no. They will return next campaign or have a resurgence with massive advantage but we will be distracted by another faction.

that wasn't an automaton, that was a cyborg and that was waaaaaaaaay back in the first galactic war. and the baby at the end i think was just the bots referencing back to this moment in our history.

gotta love the inclusion of a Factory Strider in the background. I can imagine that must've been one of those last minute additions to this animation, considering the thing was added to the game like, 6 days ago.
I never got to fight one before the Automatons were eradicated.
@@StarkRaven59 Well, you're in luck! Guess who JUST returned like, 5 hours ago? YUP! It's the Automatons, back at it again, conquered an entire sector including Cyberstan which they have been chanting about for forever, they attacked 6 more planets in two other sectors, opening all 6 up for offensives, 3 of which we have to defend from them.
I ❤ the contrast between starting out your helldiving career with the bugs "doing the Starship Trooper thing" so then when you begin dipping your toes into the bot wars well... it can be summarized as "Sparkling Hope + Optimism against bugs vs. Intimidation, terror & hatred in for bots"
Honestly, after playing both side on HELLDIVER I prefer the bots.
My fitst ever mission was on the bot side to evacuate civilians and i stil din't knew how to play... it was bad.
@@12SickOne34 Yeah, having a bunch of bug rushing you isn't fun, bot are at least predictable and easy to sneak past.

The bots thought the AT-ATs and Gunships would save them.

A pretty accurate representation of Helldive difficulty actually. XD The best touch you coulda done NCH is that at the end, instead of the baby exploding, it fired a flare. Cause that straggler is ALWAYS there and ALWAYS has a bloody flare ready. XD
We haven't seen the last of the Automatons, mark my words.

It was easy ... too easy
It was a distraction. The real fleet is on their way to their homeplanet, using Super Earth F&F transponders to take over their planet and those surrounding, without us noticing
It's a real shame that this beautiful march will no longer be heard by any helldiver.

If you've been keeping up with the Ministry of Truth's mandatory infromative broadcasts you would know that as of the completion of the last major order by patriotic helldivers, the automaton menance has finally been quelled. No longer will it be necessary to reapply freedom planets on the previously automaton-contested star systems. It is only a matter of time before the terminid threat is similarly brought to heel.

The more I look at them, the more I see the Warhammer 40k.

i miss tearing the bots bolt by bolt their marching always shook me to my core. The Bugs do not fill that void.

Always love your stuff, haven't played long enough to get to know the bots, so instead of the straggler I was expecting a Diver to come up behind them & call down a Hell Bomb on them but I think thos ending is just as satisfying. Lol

Fighting the Automatons in Helldivers 2 and taking part in the campaign to defeat them has been one of the best gaming moments I have had the pleasure of experiencing in years!!!

(I know too well because I always keep shooting the Flamethrower arm first)
nah, its more of 2D perspective to show the melee weapon "outside" and the range weapon "inside" if the sprite is converted into game asset, the saw blade will have the range/hitbox to hit(as its "outside" of the body) while the gun inside dosen't need the range of the melee weapon.
Ooh, I never considered the practical aspect of designing a sprite for a game's mechanics. That's interesting, thanks for the insight!

its also more to facilitate easier animation on the sprite so technically I dont need to draw "additional new frames" just to show the mech lunging its body forward(perspective rotation) just for the buzz saw to "reach out" to attack.
of course if its a 3D model asset that wouldn't be an issue, but 2D means needing to draw new stuff manually.
I always love this channels marches. This one has to be the most epic so far.

As someone who bought the game recently and been fighting the Automaton since lvl 1 I could say I rather go back fighting bots than bugs.

yesterday when playing we were stuck with encrypted drives oinned by a non stop onslaught of partolls and thier dropships for atleast 20 minutes. We were 5 seconds late to complete the mission since the shuttle left with less than 3% upload remaining
