Having spent 8 years fishing from a 21 foot boat on Lake Superior's north shore I have seen massive tree trunks thrown over a hundred feet up from the normal water line. Just thinking of the awesome power required to do this sent chills down my spine. This video gives me chills all over again.
I've lived up at Cape Cod and I've spent a lot of time around all of the Great Lakes except Lake Ontario. I like the Great Lakes the best. For what it's worth ....
Lovely! I can't thank you enough for the natural sounds of those waves. You don't get the whole effect if during editing music is added. Really enjoyable to watch! ThanX
I always enjoy your stormy videos from the North Shore and this one topped everything to date! Thanks for braving the storm and sharing her power with us. -Larry
I absolutely love this, and really enjoy all of your videos!! I visit Lake Superior on occasion and find it so fascinating. The power of these waves is truly amazing
Thanks for posting this. This is absolutely incredible footage. Is this around Tettegouche State Park? I recognize Split Rock at about the 3:40 mark. I am a former resident of Minnesota and always loved traveling to the North Shore, but never got to witness this kind of weather first-hand.
WOW thats So beautiful and amazing at the same time look how far up into the woods them waves are going and even the Spray from the waves gies even further that's insane but OMG how i would Love to live Right there I'd sit there All Day Long and watch the lake and watch the ships on the lake god i live in such a boring place the CITY a small city at that but still thats boring to me, This is not boring nature is so awesome and never underestimate the power of mother nature either bc she can fuck you up in a heartbeat
So far as I could tell, those were mostly full grown pine trees atop that cliff and beyond? Now take into consideration the actual size of those waves as compared to a person or average sized boat? My word! Now consider even bigger monsters coming at you from various angles and that's what the Edmund Fitzgerald had to deal with. No thanks!

Thanks! Yes, this is along Lake Superior's North Shore.
Superior power....doesn't get this way too often, but when it does....
Man, that looks like actual waves 🌊 you’d find in the ocean. Definitely have to respect that body of water! ✊
Being as they are closer in frequency than the ocean they are actually far more dangerous.
man what a beautiful scene i wana build a house right there i can sit and wach that all day(":
Awesome! Those cliffs are over 100 meters
Ontario Parks Service: Those tree need watering.
Lake Superior: OK.

Yes but where is the witch of November?
Fearsome power! Is this at Tettegouche?

I was thinking about Saltwater and then remembered this is freshwater. Near a salty sea those trees would be way back.
You can see why/how erosion is a "thing" over millions of years. Or even less really. Thousands or even decades can do crazy stuff.
stunning...
That's how the birdshit gets cleaned off the rocks.
