- Mirror or chrome powder nails is HUGE on social media at the moment, and when I first heard about it I pre-ordered it right away to test! You're supposed to use gel polish that cures under a UV lamp but I personally don't use gel so I tried a gel alternative from the drugstore and I did not use a UV lamp. I'm now convinced you DON'T HAVE TO use UV gel, but like nail foils, mirror powder will crack with traditional nail polish topcoat. MORE nail powder testing with REGULAR NAIL POLISH coming soon!

This is a great tutorial. I build model cars with chrome parts, and most of the kit pieces have mold lines and flash that needs to be removed, then we have to rechrome them. This chrome powder looks better than Alclad lacquer chrome. Thank you for the upload Janelle.

ohmahgawd! thank you for making this video and confirming I don't need all those other things to do the chrome look on nails! i will actually be getting a 96% pure silver powder for nails and crafts on my etsy in the next few weeks and i was told by the manufacturer that it will have the chrome effect as well. so now i know how to test it out with the polish i have already! thank you so much!

I bought a revlon polish in the color "silver screen" for cheap and it worked almost as well. I ran out of base coat and top coat but it still stayed for 4-5 days with one coat. Would recommend!

Hey! I'm sure most people won't see this but I found that the Sally Hanson complete salon manicure topcoat will not ruin the finish! It can be found in most drugstores and it comes in a clear bottle with a silver cap!
I gave this a shot and it ruined the finish. Came out just like if I'd put glitter on.

Only thing is I haven't been able to find a water-based top coat yet... all the ones online are so expensive after shipping/conversion/etc. I will keep looking since the powder will take a month to arrive from ebay.

thank you for the reply hun. But, after trying all kinds of topcoats, i did find one that works great. IBD intense seal. it's 100 percent uv, but works fantastic with the chromes 😀😀😀
