@@jaysmith3173 Friend, that's way, way too many questions to realistically expect a stranger who has a job and a life to answer, which makes me not want to answer any of them. But I'm feeling charitable so I'll give you this: I haven't read the book and thus don't really have an informed opinion on it. I was expressing appreciation for Tiffany's remark on the ending. There are many great stories that don't clearly spell out for you why everything happened or what you're meant to take away from it. A great deal of artistic work falls into this category, and a lot of people enjoy the ambiguity. Very crudely, you can think of it as a sort of game or puzzle, trying to work out yourself what the artist is saying. Or you can think of it as a process of discovery. Or as a conversation between yourself and the art, or yourself and the artist, or simply a conversation you're having with yourself in your head about the art. If you want to have that conversation with another person, by all means do so, but UA-cam comments aren't a great place for it.

Tradd Moore‘s artwork feels like Jack Kirby tried to do Baki the Grappler in space. I LOVE how crazy it looks, from the bizarre surrealist shapes, to the wonky anatomy and to the scale of utilizing simple designs in such a detailed way. I LOVE his work.
@Mr. Robot is it normal to like this artwork, but can be confused or not sure as to what is visually going on when reading? I understood what was going on and appreciated the art, but sometimes I was confused as to what’s going on?
@@jaysmith3173 Nah, I totally got that at first. Tradd Moore's style is very stylized and beautifully exaggerated, so it can get hard to know what is going on. It's fun, though. I love his style, but it's very obviously something that takes a while to get used to.
This is so unexpected but I’m so happy you’re doing this book. The writing is great and the artwork is a beautiful blend of Kirby and modern sensibilities. I also was so extremely touched by how Donny made this in honor of Lee and Kirby especially the fifth issue that he rewrote after hearing Lee died to make sure the story was perfect.

I don't see it as surfer falling back into darkness but he spent all of himself to keep the darkness at bay. Killing Galactus wouldn't solve anything because Galactus is a necessary part of the cycle of the universe. Also there was a story about what happens if Galactus doesn't fulfill that duty of eating planets which causes a being called Abraxas to be let loose who destroys everything

I love it when you guys cover cosmic stuff and Ethan visibly gradually surrenders to the madness that is comic science looking like a weathered husk of a person by the end. For years now I've been watching the slow insidious fracturing of Ethan's mind. Soon he will fully succumb to the darkness and be born anew as ETHANACHT!!!
This is one of my favourite books from the past year. Donny cates is the scott snyder of marvel for me. He has it's own original ideas that form a narative within the universe and it is very interesting. He made me interested in Marvel again.
Donny Cates is weaving such an interesting and epic story of his own continuity. Can't wait to see where he takes it. I followed Cates from God Country in to his Marvel work and he has made me a Marvel fan. I love that all his books are pure fun!
There are numerous possibilities but I like to think if he killed Galactus, Knull would win and either absorb the power cosmic and become a Galactus type dark god or turn Surfer into the creature he saw in his nightmare
Anthony Hudak I like both of those options! Especially the latter. Surfer becomes the new Galactus, and he kills ALL the people Galactus killed, and many more. If they do a What If, I hope they go with that option.
With King in Black coming I hope for a rematch between Surfer and Knull and will expand on his new "black" form. I have the theory that it's a combination of his power being drained and Knull infecting him with darkness in order to control him. I don't think his look now is because of a symbiote but more a primordial darkness that's a part of him
I love when people do a bit on the show, Sal is just either 1) Waiting for it to finish because its too funny to interrupt or 2) Chiming in with the best line to end the bit. I love this show :)

I feel like he’s made a comeback recently. TBH ever since Slott Spider-Man and Eddie became Venom again I’d say Spider-Man’s corner of the Marvel universe has just kept getting better and better.

@@jaysmith3173 Hey man, sorry for the late response here. That's normal. You sort of just have to let your eyes naturally go where they want. With art like this, you're subtly being guided by the artist to see what they want you to see. If you're staring at a panel confused at what's happening-- but you like it-- that's just fine. If anything, that's what the artist is trying to convey to you. Something spectacular is happening, so spectacular that the book can't even convey it to you fully. I hope that helps.
The silver surfer is my dad’s favorite comic book character. He even had a silver surfer vs hulk issue from long ago sealed up. Showed to to me once when I was young but wouldn’t let me touch it.
As I was finishing this episode I was getting ready to go down to the comments and request that you guys do Silver Surfer: Requiem and then Sal brought up that he'd love to do it and I made audible happy noises lol so yeah, looking forward to whenever that one drops in the near future.

I got this comics as it was coming out and, as someone who loves the original Stan Lee run on Silver Surfer, this was probably the best thing we're ever going to get out of that character. It's one of the few trades I would get along with the singles
Nice Egon Schiele comparison. I think the style is also similar to Ernie Barnes as well. Loved this book. I think it’s the best thing Cates has done for Marvel.
These are always the books I think are really really special. I rewatch this episode sometimes, just Bc the whole package is so soothing in a way. The art is phenomenal, and the story feels comforting for a character like Norrin, plus- I think Silver Surfer Black is just a fantastic design. So simple, but so clean. I’m picking this book up this Christmas Bc of you guys, as I have with many of my favorites. Thanks for always being an open door into a new beautiful experience.

@@jaysmith3173 I interpreted the ending as silver surfer forgiving himself and coming to accept the crimes he had committed while under the command of galactus and the darkness being absorbed by surfer was him accepting that the darkness and his sins are a part of him but he’s embracing what he had done and moving forward

SS Black is awesome. Like you guys said truly followed on the giant strides of Titan Two Lee&Kirby. From what i understood is that Galactus is meant to balance out eternity and death. Like in-betweener for order and chaos. So i would think that the strata galactus is in with regards to power/magnitude/importance is only below eternity and death who in turn are below the living tribunal. I just wish writers gives galactus that level of awe and majesty and the Power Cosmic he wields and lends to all his heralds whom SS is arguably the preemminent. The idea that SS is the first to wield a symbiote is rad(d)! Be healthy n safe guys. Mabuhay!

Anyone miss the Silver Surfer Fox4Kids Marvel 📺 show? That stuff was way too deep for me to even understand as a child. But my FAVORITE Harold of Galactus is definitely Tyrant. The way they draw those metal claws going into his mouth was just 😎 asf. Second is Nova. Nova should fight The Phoenix.
If you like work which is more psychedilic and relies more on making you feel things and looking at trippy artwork than having a plot where everything makes sense then yeah, it's a great book, and the final issue is legit beautiful.

@@jaysmith3173 Nah, that's not abnormal. I think it's the price you pay for having such trippy artwork, it's not always clear what's happening, but it doesn't look like anything else on the shelves. Though, I do think it's worth mentioning that this is a book where to some extent you can really put your own interpretation on the specifics of the fights and such, sort of minimizing the problem. It's not an intricately plotted book where you have to understand every single moment, it's more about the general feeling the moments give you.

SS Black is awesome. Like you guys said truly followed on the giant strides of Titan Two Lee&Kirby. From what i understood is that Galactus is meant to balance out eternity and death. Like in-betweener for order and chaos. So i would think that the strata galactus is in with regards to power/magnitude/importance is only below eternity and death who in turn are below the living tribunal. I just wish writers gives galactus that level of awe and majesty and the Power Cosmic he wields and lends to all his heralds whom SS is arguably the preemminent. The idea that SS is the first to wield a symbiote is rad(d)! Be healthy n safe guys. Mabuhay!

jesus kangaroo guys! i thought i was having a flashback until i realized you had the lights changing, i honest to god thought i was having some flashbacky affects going on as i may have dropped some acid a few wee times in my twenties, among other things. phew, i almost freaked out for a second. for the record, i've had such flashbacks twice in my life, while rare is a possibility ...i was just really like what's happening!? for a second there

Anyone miss the Silver Surfer Fox4Kids Marvel 📺 show? That stuff was way too deep for me to even understand as a child. But my FAVORITE Harold of Galactus is definitely Tyrant. The way they draw those metal claws going into his mouth was just 😎 asf. Second is Nova. Nova should fight The Phoenix.

Is this a book I should buy? I've been thinking about it for a bit and now that it's on Back Issues, I'm leading towards Yes.
If you like work which is more psychedilic and relies more on making you feel things and looking at trippy artwork than having a plot where everything makes sense then yeah, it's a great book, and the final issue is legit beautiful.
@@Fatboyftw32 is it normal to like this artwork, but can be confused or not sure as to what is visually going on when reading? I understood what was going on and appreciated the art, but sometimes I was confused as to what’s going on?
@@jaysmith3173 Nah, that's not abnormal. I think it's the price you pay for having such trippy artwork, it's not always clear what's happening, but it doesn't look like anything else on the shelves. Though, I do think it's worth mentioning that this is a book where to some extent you can really put your own interpretation on the specifics of the fights and such, sort of minimizing the problem. It's not an intricately plotted book where you have to understand every single moment, it's more about the general feeling the moments give you.
@@Fatboyftw32 I found it’s themes about Darkness depressing and hard to accept and it makes me wonder how Darkness originated in the first place and why? If that makes sense. But I do like how there was hope
