Man I made this turkey this year and let me tell you that was the best cajun turkey ive ever had in my life. Thank you so much for this step by step video. Awesome video, awesome recipe. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Love this video and recipe! I accidentally smoked a turkey one thanksgiving. It was really cold out and our oven was out, so I took an old gas grill and loaded it with oak.....and then crossed my fingers while saying a little prayer. That was the most delicious turkey I have ever in my life cooked. Well, the oven is out again this year. To the smoker we go!!!
Man Jeff....that was the luckiest turkey ever as far as flavor! The brine, injection and seasoning blend puts this over the top!! Damn delicious video Bud!! Merry Christmas!
Jeff that looks great, I can almost taste it from here. Skin is perfect, Meat looks juicy. Another great job. I have become a better smoker cooker because of you and your videos. I hope you have a great Holiday Season. Thanks again for another excellent cook.
@@Armadillopepper Right back at Yah, Merry Christmas, we are headed to Vermont for the holiday. It will be a little cooler than what you are going to have.
Was worried this would be too salty but you didn't mention that... Im about to do my first rotisserie chicken and debating on wet brine, dry brine and injection. I was surprised to see someone tried all 3!!!
Maan. Those seasonings are all thru that turkey!!!! Look at those speckles! Wow. Good job.

I just checked. Going to be in the 70s here. We are going on a fishing trip.
@@Armadillopepper I will probably be ice fishing
Using my Green Egg, I put aluminum foil on the ceramic heat diverter and an aluminum pan under a metal rack I put the turkey on. Easy clean up!
👍
Can you use orange juice or Sunny D for the brine?
Some OJ yes
This dude is the Bob Ross of turkey cooking
I wish I could paint like Bob 😀
How long do you brine the turkey?
Hi Kenneth. I usually brine 16 to 24 hours.
That looks delicious Jeff. The skin looked perfect. Was it somewhat crispy? Merry Christmas from my family to yours.
Thanks! Skin was nice. It was a clean cut, not chewy.
Was worried this would be too salty but you didn't mention that...
Im about to do my first rotisserie chicken and debating on wet brine, dry brine and injection. I was surprised to see someone tried all 3!!!
I've never had one turn out too salty. Don't let it sit in the brine too long, and it won't be salty.
Would you recommend doing this with a pit barrel smoker?
Most definitely. I've cooked many turkeys in the PBC and they always come out great.
I find when I brine turkey it changes the texture
However, it is a good trade off for how juicy it is.
This looks delicious

I've never had that happen. How long do you brine?
@@Armadillopepper usually brine about 12 hours. its not bad I can just tell the difference. The meat seems firmer.
Let's go!!!!
I thought you were mad at me 😁. Somebody commented before you. Merry Christmas Ian!
