Just perfection. The sheer amount of odhammer, the beautiful paint jobs, the banners... My favourite parts were the unit fillers with the mementoes from past battles and campaigns. Every unit has a story. Thanks for sharing this stunning army.
Bravo, Sir. The amount of theme, conversions, names and stories makes this such an amazing army. I love all the banners too. Thank you for sharing. That was an hour well spent.
This is amazing! Everything about this army is great. The handpainted banners, the conversions. Everything! Since I'm a sucker for the undead, I liked the Sylvanians a little bit more.
Thanks. I like the new GW models, too, but I think if I had my choice ( and the money to afford them on eBay) I would still be painting the old models.
What a stunning army, one of the best I've ever seen. All of the conversions are very well done, in the right tone and just good ideas. The painting is of a very high standard for such a large force as well. All around just stunning!
WOW, this is absolutely rock-fu##ing-tastic! 💪 The Banners, colorshemes and all the love for funny details are mindblowing!❤ Thx for the inspiration! All the best, have fun!😊
Great to hear. I still have mountains of grey sha... er, potential. Sadly, I also have a fair amount of painted shame in this army as well: Models I painted for one reason or another, but then never actually used in a game.
This is such an amazing army! I love armies with history, collected over the years and displaying range of models GW made over these couple of decades ;) Really, REALLY amazing job :)
Thanks. I’ll probably do a big battle report with them eventually, but probably not for a long time. People have been asking for it, but it takes a long time just putting these miniatures on the table, much less playing a game with them.
Thanks. Yeah, it’s nice that savage orc heroes can ride chariots again, and orcs can have bows and shields (in fact, there doesn’t seem to be a reason not to give orcs with just shields bows as well). Goblins are back to not being able to take bows and shields, which is fine. The base size for a three-wolf chariot actually got smaller for some reason. I’m still working through the new rules, though.
What an incredible collection of beautifully painted Orc/Goblin goodness! Wonderful showcase. I loved all the conversions and backstories. Truly inspirational! Thanks for sharing!!!
Recently getting back into the hobby. Obsessed with making a Night Goblin horde. This has given me some ideas... Thanks for showing off your awesome army!
Fantastic. Good luck on your army. I thought I would never have to paint another Night Goblin, but now with the Old World, I’ve been looking at finishing up a couple of those units and adding some characters myself.
As others have said I think this is the best army I have ever seen. Painting, collecting, conversions, background, fluff, all A+++. I would like to know if you have a painting guide online or if you'd be willing to answer some questions over discord or some other method because I find this extremely inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry for the delay in a response. I take a big break from the channel in October to focus on Halloween. I don’t have a painting guide as such, but generally I paint everything the same way, so any painting video I have will demonstrate what I do. It is the old way, though. It’s slow and there are more recent methods that are better in many ways, so I’m not sure I would encourage anyone to paint the way I do. I did recently set up a Discord account as DM Gashbad. I haven’t used it very much, but I imagine there’s a way to contact me through that.
Very very cool , good to see another long time player with orc's. My army is a little bigger than what you have but like you when we play it , it's a great trip down memory lane. Never stop adding to the great whaaaaaa!
No problem. I have to admit, I’m very proud of da boys. I’ve been watching a series of videos where people try to recreate an oldhammer army. It’s hard to do now, and it’s nice to know I have one on the shelf.
I started playing/collecting in 2004 as a 14 year old. Still doing so to this day. Still fantasy (O&G) and some 40K. This warms my heart :) I remember getting the collectors guide for O&G soon after i started and seeing all those older models that you couldn' get anymore. Reading up and hearing about their history was very interesting. I have to say, out of all your models, i think i love your Giant the most. Such a great conversion 'and' paint job. I would love to hear more about the individual pieces and bits, the paint scheme and just the entire process in general :) (i know you mentioned Stegadon, but still :p)
Sure. I pulled out the model and I guess there’s more to it than I remember. The head is covered with a Lizardman skull totem and a 40k Ork ironjaw. The back of the neck is covered by the Stegadon howda stairs. The howda base is on the Giant’s back, and the Engine of the Gods howda crest is upside down on the Giant’s chest. Various Engine pieces were cut up to make a kind of belt on his front. Ogre gut plates were used on his shoulders and knees. His hips are armored with kite shields topped with Tomb King banner tops. I also stuck the Giant’s big stone wheel under his right arm. Lizardman and 40k Ork glyph plates run down his arms. The top of the middle thing in the Engine of the Gods sits under his left arm. The bottom of that middle thing is his belt buckle. I added a lot of green stuff fur. For painting, the fur is brown, the skin I made a blue-gray, and the banners and scales were dark red. The gold is golden brown mixed with burnt umber, washed with burnt umber, and highlighted up by adding a very bright metallic gold. Hope that helps. It’s been a while and clearly I forgot what all I did with that guy. Feel free to ask any more questions about the process and thanks for the comment.
Fascinating stuff! I'm waiting on the Old World game but starting an Orcs & Goblins army, using mostly modern plastics and painting methods and it's really useful having this kind of thing for reference on what I can use, what I can proxy, how I make a unit.
Cool. I don’t know how similar unit composition will be in The Old World, but from the photos they released it doesn’t look too far off. I definitely wouldn’t complain if my army translated easily.
Absolutely amazing army 👍🏻 Really enjoy all the little details and the thought that’s gone into all the models. I have a similar size empire army and have always tried to make every model different. Great video 👍🏻
I agree. The plastic wolves are only ok, but the old metal riders are great. I still have a bag of unpainted ones that I would love y to o finish up one day.
Now this was fun. Not same-same with just different poses. A lot of character and depth. Like a greenskin army should be. Can just imagine the sheer chaos and shenanigans this mob would bring. Really takes me back. Thank you.

Great army! For the black ork banner you dont like: I would add more white "blinky" highlights or an OSL effect to the metal head... Maybe both? :D Again, super nice army. Videos like this keep motivating me to expand my army to a size I always wanted.

I do have some tutorials, one on prepping models and the other on my painting method. Links: ua-cam.com/video/4r7AEmc5pdc/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/HqCWMNnPQq4/v-deo.html The only things to note are I typically only use one layer of sand for the grass bases, and my formula for green skin is a little different. It’s Seminole Green+Midnight Blue, Seminole Green+more Midnight Blue wash, then the highlights: Seminole Green+less Midnight Blue, Seminole Green, Wedgewood Green, Wedgewood Green+Apple Green, and then Wedgewood Green+more Apple Green.
thats the most gorgeous army I have every had the joy to see. Congrats. Wow. How much is resell price of these rare or even unique models in 2022? 10.000€?
Thanks. I don’t know what the stuff is worth, but don’t tell my family. I’ve got at least that many models still unpainted in the garage and I don’t want them getting any ideas.
Amazing collection. I love how your models have names and backstories, this really give them another dimension. The amount of detail, thought and conversions is mindblowing. Now i am really looking forward to Warhammer The Old World release, it seems like orcs might get some re-releases. Although it's hard to beat old GW models, just love that retro style. Btw is there any website where i can see still pictures of your army ?
Thanks. I used to have a bunch of stuff posted on an Orc and Goblin forum called Da Warpath, but it looks like a lot of it is gone. I did find this old thread with some of my pictures: www.tapatalk.com/groups/orcgoblinwarpath/the-army-of-skull-chasm-t34891.html
I have watched this video a few times and love seeing all the minis in it. You mention you have more. When will these be done and added?would you do another video of whats not painted?
Wow, that’s great. Unfortunately, it’s taken me decades to paint the group I have now, and the last few years I’ve been working on other armies. It would be a long, long time before I have enough new Orcs and Goblins painted to show off in a new video. And you don’t want to see the unpainted stuff. Just thinking about how much there is terrified me...

FLGS owner; "Even if the walls could be breached, it would take an army beyond reckoning. Thousand!" Gashbad; "Tens of thousands." FLGS; "But my lord, there is no such force!" Gashad; *sets down massive miniature carrying cases
Such a great scene. When I saw it in the theater I thought “That’s exactly how I feel standing over my miniature armies.” That said, it took me hours to move all my models from the cabinets to the table. The thought of taking them to a FLGS is terrifying.
That’s like 700 models... maybe I could look into that for a smaller army or warband first. As it is, I haven’t spent much time figuring out a good lighting system. I appreciate it, though.
I believe the models with the back banners (the Orc Warboss and the Goblin on the Gigantic Spider) all came that way. That said, the models really just have banner poles stuck directly against their back, so I don’t think it would be too hard to convert something like that.
Thanks. Yeah, I thought they cost a lot even in the old days. But this army was mostly made from a series of small purchases over a very long time. I just don’t want to think about what it all ended up costing.
The axe is from an old Dragon Ogre with a great weapon, if we are talking about the same Orc. The Warboss on foot with the big mask helmet, right? Mohrhate of Da Bad God?
and now with the new old world arcane journal, about half of that is gone. i was going to look into that for oldworld but i dont see any listings even with people who reviewed the new journal of spider riders or the big spider thing. yet tomb kings got to keep all their last edition large models. kinda meh because an army like this is why i would go with orcs and goblins in the redo of old world.
Great question. I recommend getting a Dremel rotary tool. They’re not very expensive, and the ball-like attachments make jobs like this very easy. I don’t invest in a lot of equipment (‘cause I’m cheap), but I use the Dremel all the time and if you plan on doing a lot of conversions I would highly recommend it.
@@dmgashbad4908 incredible considering all the youtubers and ”pro painters” using a gazillion different products and mediums! I love the contrast in your painting style!
Well, it’s kind of a double edged sword with having a big fully painted army. It’s hard to justify using a proxy when you have a bunch of other stuff that’s appropriately modeled.
It’s always good to have Orcs & Goblins represented, but the release doesn’t affect me that much right now. I have all the unpainted O&G models I could want (for now…), and I’m still working my way through the Old World rules between other projects. And I could be wrong, but the Arcane Journal armies seem a little underwhelming. Just two lists? No ‘Ard Boyz, Savage Orc hordes, Night Goblin army, Forest Goblin throngs, pirate Orcs? The last one was unlikely, sure, but generally I always like to see more greenskins, but I don’t really feel like I need much from this release.
This army should be considered a national treasure.
Only if I get an Orc Nicholas Cage to star.

Insane army, absolutely insane
Thanks. No sense making a sane Orc & Goblin army.
Fantastic work .
Thanks. Always appreciated.
Fantastic green skins army! 🤩Love your paintjob! Do you have tutorials video for paint orc and gob like this please?
I do have some tutorials, one on prepping models and the other on my painting method. Links:
ua-cam.com/video/4r7AEmc5pdc/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/HqCWMNnPQq4/v-deo.html
The only things to note are I typically only use one layer of sand for the grass bases, and my formula for green skin is a little different. It’s Seminole Green+Midnight Blue, Seminole Green+more Midnight Blue wash, then the highlights: Seminole Green+less Midnight Blue, Seminole Green, Wedgewood Green, Wedgewood Green+Apple Green, and then Wedgewood Green+more Apple Green.
Thank you!! Hope you make more videos love your work ^^@@dmgashbad4908
Fantastic collection, thanks for the video.
You are welcome.
These are beautiful!
Thanks. Very nice of you to say so.
thats the most gorgeous army I have every had the joy to see. Congrats. Wow. How much is resell price of these rare or even unique models in 2022? 10.000€?
Thanks. I don’t know what the stuff is worth, but don’t tell my family. I’ve got at least that many models still unpainted in the garage and I don’t want them getting any ideas.
@@dmgashbad4908 if you want to sell your garage metal stuff, i would buy it! :)
@@dmgashbad4908 thank you for the reply. I find the video inspiring. It makes me want to start collecting orcs and goblins. I will look forward to seeing the next video however long it will be. Keep up the amazing and awesome work on this army
I love it ... ive got a 18750 point chaos armi 8th ed
Wow. It’s hard to imagine 10,000 points of Orcs & Goblins slowly backing away, but I thing we would do that if we came upon a Chaos army that big.
I'm looking forward to see how the new orc boy kits look when they eventually release them for the new warhammer fantasy
I just hope they’re not too big. As it is the current Orcs are huge compared to the old metal guys.
Excellent force!
Thanks!
FLGS owner; "Even if the walls could be breached, it would take an army beyond reckoning. Thousand!"
Gashbad; "Tens of thousands."
FLGS; "But my lord, there is no such force!"
Gashad; *sets down massive miniature carrying cases
Such a great scene. When I saw it in the theater I thought “That’s exactly how I feel standing over my miniature armies.” That said, it took me hours to move all my models from the cabinets to the table. The thought of taking them to a FLGS is terrifying.
I would love to see a showcase video where you just take each piece, place it on a rotator at a slow speed with nice lighting - then just appreciate.
That’s like 700 models... maybe I could look into that for a smaller army or warband first. As it is, I haven’t spent much time figuring out a good lighting system. I appreciate it, though.
@@dmgashbad4908 I 100% understand. If you do end up doing a small warband - can your sample be a small set of say.. Idk. Goblins? Heh
This is so epic! How do you do the back banners? Did you model on the banner poles or how did you do that?
I believe the models with the back banners (the Orc Warboss and the Goblin on the Gigantic Spider) all came that way. That said, the models really just have banner poles stuck directly against their back, so I don’t think it would be too hard to convert something like that.
Amazing army! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks. My pleasure.
Really nice army!
Thanks! I’m a little surprised people are willing to watch an hour long video of me rambling about my green skins, but I’m glad some people like it.
oh yea what is the set or real name of Gashbad beergut I would love to get that mini for warhammer quest its perfect
If I’m thinking of the same model you are, it’s an old Marauder model with the code OCG1.
Reminds of when i first got into Warhammer when 3rd edition was massive and slipped into 4th edition .
Yup, that’s about when I started.
Superb army, you have this one more that of the Empire?
Thanks. If I’m understanding the question correctly, yes, this is my largest army. My Empire and Vampire Counts are only about 2000 points each.
i love the old minis I so wish I knew about Warhammer wen I was a kid
I only learned about it when I was in high school. That’s the thing about these hobbies. You stay with them long enough, your new stuff becomes old.
Best army I've ever seen. I love a good Greenskin army.
Thanks. Greenskins are the best.
really nice army
Thanks.
Pure awesomeness!
Thanks!
Incredible army
Thanks. They don’t always fight so well, but they try to look go while doing it.
must have took over an hour just to place them out lol.......i love all the banners by the way.
Thanks. And yeah, set-up took a loooong time.
amazing army!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks!!
Просто восхитительная армия! Любоваться ей просто удовольствие!!!
very cool army, thanks for sharing. A shame that all those fantastic models are costing so much , or I would suddenly have a new project.
Thanks. Yeah, I thought they cost a lot even in the old days. But this army was mostly made from a series of small purchases over a very long time. I just don’t want to think about what it all ended up costing.
As a dwarf lover I’m currrently terrified
I’ve seen this army fight Dwarves. Sadly, I think you have nothing to worry about.
@@dmgashbad4908 ok good
Incredible
Thanks.
What Chaos Axe / arms are those on the Orc Warboss, I’ve seen that axe somewhere before?
The axe is from an old Dragon Ogre with a great weapon, if we are talking about the same Orc. The Warboss on foot with the big mask helmet, right? Mohrhate of Da Bad God?
Yeah big fan of what you did there, looks like you converted his armour at the top of the pauldrons with green stuff right?
Yeah, I added some green stuff fur to help join his cape, which was a plastic Chaos banner.
I love this
Thanks!
and now with the new old world arcane journal, about half of that is gone. i was going to look into that for oldworld but i dont see any listings even with people who reviewed the new journal of spider riders or the big spider thing.
yet tomb kings got to keep all their last edition large models. kinda meh because an army like this is why i would go with orcs and goblins in the redo of old world.
But you can always use the list from Ravening Hordes, right? The Spider Riders, Gigantic Spiders and Arachnarok are still in that list.
Awesome army
Thanks!
Nice army. good old days of WHFB VI
Thanks. I liked all the days, from III to XIII.
Any tips on how you hollow out the night goblins faces
Great question. I recommend getting a Dremel rotary tool. They’re not very expensive, and the ball-like attachments make jobs like this very easy. I don’t invest in a lot of equipment (‘cause I’m cheap), but I use the Dremel all the time and if you plan on doing a lot of conversions I would highly recommend it.
Amazing army! What colour system are you using?
Thanks. I’m not using a color system. Just a big selection of cheap craft paints. Delta Ceramcoat, to be specific.
@@dmgashbad4908 incredible considering all the youtubers and ”pro painters” using a gazillion different products and mediums! I love the contrast in your painting style!
Love your army but why not use your old minis? For example why not just use the savage orc chariot as a normal orc chariot?
Well, it’s kind of a double edged sword with having a big fully painted army. It’s hard to justify using a proxy when you have a bunch of other stuff that’s appropriately modeled.
@@dmgashbad4908ok, but what if you wanted to field two?
Excited for the re-release of the Orcs and Goblins next week?
@@dmgashbad4908 I don't really intend to use them for TOW, but it's gonna be nice being able to buy greenskin units again at a more decent price.
34:17 do your orcs listen to bjork?
Yes. While eating pork with a spork.
