First time on the ring! How awesome!! after around 10 laps this was my result... sometimes i didn't knew for sure which corner was coming.. 73 corners to learn in 2 days.. So much fun!!!!
Nice video Thomas. I have had mine for many years and found that the cheapest upgrades were the best for this car - urethane bushes everywhere, H&r sway bars/arbs, rear tie rods, better braking compound, short shifter and Haldex upgrade. Power upgrades are obvious, but those handling upgrades are awesome in this car.
+TheAngryPigeon1 Did quite a few things to the handling of this car... Solid topmounts, swaybars, bushes indeed. having a lot of fun with this car allthough i like RWD better!
I dont want to be rude or something but stock s3 8l did this track in 8:41 with 210hp i 2000r. Also there is tire isue, 17 years ago tires were much worse than now. I think with this spec You got it is posible to get this car to around 8:20 or less. Sabine Schmit did sub 8 min in e39 m5 with just some minor suspension tweeks but it was around 2008-2012 so tires were much better than in 1998 when they test it. I wonder what time stock s3 8p 3d with 265hp would clock on nurburgring...they dont test every car now like they were doing erlier :(
+Estuardo Diaz I used a downpipe with racecat, 42 Draft design high flow cold air intake and a aluminium pipe which comes in place of the 'damper' on the inlet. Thats it! And off course a chip.
Hi! SUspension questions: Are you using the std ARB-s (anti roll bar). What was/is the diameter size for the front / rear? Do you use Defcon/Cookbot insert for the lower front wishbone bush? I have a TT225. Have a nice day Dante
Hi thomas! excelent video, excelent driving, and the car goes very fast. One question, the car is stock?, you can say me if you have some modification in the engine? Thanks!!
+Federico Crespo Hi! Thanks! Yes i did some things to the engine! Downpipe, intake, and some small things, changed the software.. having around 270HP now! doing a lighweight flywheel next month or so! Do you have a S3 yourself too? Gr. Thomas.
But i am still here ! 😅 You can build whatever you really like but after racing with audi for 6 years i switched to BMW because then you have a better base. Audi is front heavy to start with, build for comfort in stead of driving like bmw. Something with RWD is better in balance. Also much more parts available for bmw. I did like the audi for sure, actually still have it and will be back on the road someday! I would really like a rear LSD then.
@@BMWE36Thomas i drove FWD car for 15 years but i cant compete against 4x4...i also like the oversteer and was thinking to put haldex controller 50-50. About LSD, do you think i should buy only the rear one? Or both? Also about the alignment of the tyres (camber, toe). I never had 4x4 car. I thank you for quick response and help! When you have low budget you need to be precise...
@@burns985 Rear lsd makes the car more fun to drive. I do have the haldex controller which works pretty good, more direct power to the rear wheels. But still no controlable oversteer without rear lsd.

@@BMWE36Thomas I'm in love with the new Yaris gr but 40k is a lot. I'm temped by the Audi s1 but trashing a "new" car is not for me (because I like to do rally special stages with my friends, lots of cuts on the grass and handbrake herpins all the time ahah). Subaru wrx's are so hit and miss for reliability so fuck it.. So here we come to the s3 8L (no 8p because they are so heavy and dumb looking), here in Italy they are quite cheap so I can buy one and still have my punto Abarth with 280hp.. Don't like so much the design but if the rear end is a little bit playfull with the rain and snow I will enjoy it a lot with a proper coilover Kit and semislicks Thanks for the info!!!

Really like the sound of your engine and exhaust what brands have you used that turbo spools very nice

Cool video. Is the right mirror from a Passat B5? And if it is, is it a straight fit?
No this is just the original!

Hi!
I've got H&R swaybars. Dont know the diameter at the moment. I use powerflex on allmost all the wishbones. Perfect !

Im so late here ! Just bought S3 8L and building it for hillclimb 450hp. Do you think its worth investing on it? THanks for advice

Hello can give me some advice for the audi i have hr coilover with kw adjustable rear control arm your opinion for something else ;
Seems to be allright.. i didn't even have adjustable rear arms.. better depends on what you want to do with the car...
Very good driving :) This is stock S3?

No this is Not stock S3..
Eibach, swaybars, powerflex, Some engine mods.
What engine mods?

At that time,
Downpipe, turbo pipe,42 Drafts intake And Some software.

What suspension are you running? Polybushes or anything?
Bilstein B14 and poly bushes everywhere. Solid topmounts. Poly engine mounts, Swaybars etc etc Quite a bit 😎.

Bilstein b14 and nankang semi slicks 👍🏻
