I figured it out its the copper contacts inside the knob its an easy fix when you figure it out just bend them out a little bit and shebam it works again.....you still gotta take the module out tho and take the knob apart but its really simple instead of spending 300 dollars
Thank you for the video. I have the 2016 Sedona and my switch is failing. Great minivan with almost no major issue at 83,000 miles with one owner. This is a bummer if this switch will keep failing.
Pull the module out then take the back black panel off the houses the actual module then pull the big microchip lookin thing out take the knob apart and bend the copper clip out a little bit idk if itll turn but itll work til you buy a new one
I bought my 2016 Kia Sedona used back in 2017 since I bought it I hadcto get another brand new transmission and afterwards the winsheild wipers didnot work or the seat warmer on the passengers side...now my air unit works great in the back but sometimes not in the front. Can somebody please help me understand why it keeps shutting off after every crank..its 100 degrees hotter than hell out here
I have to change this out twice. The wiring in mine burned out at the plug. Now the 2nd is not working at 3 and 4. I'll change out the blower motor and see if that is a cause. I did that for a 1994 mits Diamante and it worked fine after that.
@@dannybowser5499 I just left it alone. I took it to a dealership and they want to replace the whole harness. Follow the wires all the way down. It hasn’t burnout again since. The comment about bending the cooper in the switch makes sense but go at your own discretion. When this happen the first time I shoved a flathead in the knob and it work in and off. The knob being manipulated only worked for awhile. I just ordered this off eBay. Blower motor made no difference.
Just an up date, if anyone happend to have the same issue. The used part was 115 including shipping and 22 bucks for a trim removal kit from the local auto parts store. It was realy easy to replace the only thing you may need is a short handled screwdriver as the door does not open up enough to remove one of the 5 screws you will need to remove. Kia wanted 975 for the part and 350 to replace it. It only took me 20 mins and ive neaver worked on a car before its a huge ripoff on kias part.
@@TheAntonbacon Was the plug for the wiring burned/melted on yours. Did you have to change out any of the wiring behind the control panel. The plug were the wire connects is melted and I am wondering if the wiring needs to be replaced also or can I just replace the control panel.
@@blakeschneider7147 the back of the control was bad, but the plug was just a little burned and the wiring looked ok. If it looks like theres no short, no wiers touching and the plug is still able to conect your probley ok to use the same one. Otherwise you may need to replace it also. But the shore was definitely at the knob on mine and not from the main wire.
@@camugs Took it to a diagnostic place besides Kia. It doesn’t even register the AC or Heater system as being there, so they can’t diagnose the problem.

I tried that works for about week and stops again .. did I ha e to take it out and bend from inside?

I got 245,000 miles on my Kia Sedona and it is still running great for the most part transmission slips from time to time but that is to be expected

Mine is doing it too. Harness is burnt too. Where does that wire connect and where can I get one?

Higher end model of this van has a different control module (multi zone) which O don't have this issue.
Mine has the same problem and it only has 50,000+ miles on it. Saw another video with the same issue.
I just bought a used one for 70 bucks .. then i'll just pop it in. No way i'd spend 1k in parts and labor for that
Do you just pry the lower panel off or are there screws that need to be removed somewhere? I cant find any info on how to remove it. Thanks.
@@TheAntonbacon it's been a long time I think a couple of screws

I just changed the blower motor and resister thinking that would solve the issue.
Have the Alternator checked
@@camugs if the alternator is bad wouldn't it drain my battery?
did you pay someone to install the climate control panel. I need to purchase one.
where can I find the control switch to purchase online
Mine is stuck with heater on. Hope it is just electrical. I can’t afford that. Kia needs to make it right.
How many miles miles do you have on your vehicle

Would this be the same issue if my passenger side is blowing cold but I have the heat on? 2016 sedona
This sounds like a broken vent door or the vent door is stuck.
I know what happened inside the knob I can fix it without replacing the part. Inside those knobs set up like Old School radio and TVs.
Do you know where I can get a replacement knob?
Happen the same to me ...
This is the new order shit ... they make u slave for ever ... shame of this Kia ceo that knows about all of that ...
hello broo what aru toking abuat
KIA is a bad product! It is a piece of you know what!!! Same issue on my sisters 2015 Sedona. I told her not to buy another KIA.
I totally agree that Kia to some extent is a bad product
