    I'm not an engineer but is there any valid reason you can't make the wheel wider so you can actually get some decent lean and therefore actually steer? It looks like the thinness of the wheel is limiting it and somewhat (not to be rude but) the drivers skills. Stop putting your feet down and actually lean over some more, it might actually go round the corners then.

    • @mopoii399
      @mopoii399 6 років тому +8

      Well if you make the wheel wider you can't see as much

    • @Educationey
      @Educationey 5 років тому +1

      @@mopoii399 It doesn't need to be wide so much as it needs to be curved in order to get a shorter surface on the side.

    • @Dircan

      I was thinking, the turn could be done with opposite gyro stabilizers in series. simply control the speed of the stabilizers and the wheel will spin. It would also limit the seat from spinning in a circle if it were set under the seat, you can do a no touch concept to the ground with laser positioning, or you could have two points or contact according to the radius. If one point is removed, the seat will retract to hold 2 points constantly correcting itself. have you ever seen a ring dancer? Study them and you'll get the answer, right? The concept is two points of reference. anyhow. imagination is fun! Who is in for an escape velocity ship? ;)

    Hang a 'Bumper'' spar out front with a roller on it to keep you from flipping forward so you can brake hard safely without so much nose dive. A couple inches off the ground should do and still allow you to keep the Monowheel moniker. Be careful braking into curves with it though, it may want to track straight...

    'Probably closer to flying': ah yes, planes...notorious for their lack of controllable surfaces - I mean there's only a rudder, elevator, ailerons, and flaps (and it's not as if you don't control a bike by leaning, quite often the wrong way). That said, I reckon these things are only going to 'take off' once they get some form of computerized balance like a Segway - I'm impressed that anyone can ride one a monowheel.
