    Its really hard to find a good mechanic that knows how to properly diagnosis problems. This was a great video

    • @mudwiser1391
      @mudwiser1391 Місяць тому

      Well these days, the mechanic/technician is diagnosing with the help of an OBD2. They plug in the scantool and it lists the codes. Pretty much everything is monitored by the ECM ( Engine Control Module ), some people call it the Engine Control Unit, but the correct term is Engine Control Module.

    So did you have to also replace the sensor or did cleaning it fix the issue?

    I replaced my passenger side sensor months ago and now my abs light came on again showing "erratic behavior" front the left one. And now the scanner says it is the right one again. Sometimes my jeep struggles to accelerate it is like it is braking.

    • @AutoRepairTips757
      @AutoRepairTips757  3 роки тому +2

      Put a scanner on it and drive it and see if all the wheels are reading the same speed

    These wranglers are supposed to conquer the rubicon, but a little mud/grease can fault a sensor?

  • @mudwiser1391
    @mudwiser1391 Місяць тому

    Something to keep in mind when diagnosing with a OBD2, not all scantools will read ABS codes. It is imperative that the tool used reads ALL codes., If your OBD2 tool doesn't, turf it and buy one that is capable of reading all codes.

  • @Jeffrey-k4n
    @Jeffrey-k4n Місяць тому

    I had the codes read on my 2014 jeep patriot. It told me I had a bad abs sensor on the left front, I replaced the sensor, but the codes remain active. Wondering if I got a bad part, if a reset of some kind beyond disconnecting the battery is necessary to reset it

  • @schallmeister100
    @schallmeister100 Місяць тому +1

    My 2009 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has the ABS, traction control, and ESP BAS lights on. Hooking a computer up to it it throws a code for the rear right wheel speed sensor. I had that sensor replaced and those 3 lights are still on. When I turn the vehicle on the lights are on. When I put it in drive and take off they go away. Until those lights come back on I can feel there’s an issue with braking in the pedal itself and sometimes I can feel the vehicle braking while either accelerating, just driving, or taking corners. After a little while those 3 lights come back on and it drives just fine, no more braking. Clearing the codes it throws one back as the rear right wheel speed sensor. What’s the deal?

      you need a new mechanic immediately !
      just from your description it sounds like you need axle shaft u-joints (unless that is what you meant when you said "change bearings and *axle* ")
      (not really sure what vehicle you have, but this is assuming you are talking about a solid axle jeep. maybe a cv axle if it is ifs)

    can this cause a car to go into limp mode?

    • @ericthiel4053
      @ericthiel4053 Рік тому

      What do you mean by limp mode? The only thing it does on a jeep is basicly keep you from using cruise control for the most part. Usually it's an issue just like the one in the vid. There's a censor that knows when something isn't working correctly and causes the light to come on, but the issues and problems from this will vary by make and model.

    Someone’s put spacers on that hub .. that drive shaft will fail again … you put spacers on vehicles you widen that track out of factory specs … you didn’t even notice that … you never really explained at all why it failed ..it’s those wheel spacers ,. Those things are illegal here in Australia

    • @AutoRepairTips757
      @AutoRepairTips757  2 місяці тому

      They are legal where we live, my guess would be the axle was worn because the excessive miles we see that a lot around here. I haven’t come across one yet that has spacers, and the axles went out because of the spacers. But I guess anything is possible.
