Oddly enough, this little interview seems just as important to her legacy as any of her music. Here sits this remarkable person blissfully unaware that her talent transcends what ever genre where someone might pigeonhole her. She couldn't be more correct in saying there was so little opportunity for her chance to be big. This music can't be defined; it's her personal thing, inviting us to love it. So few write for themselves and keep it so pure. If she took over the world, would we mind?
She's a very sweet woman and I enjoyed chatting with her after she gave a concert in my town. Very down to Earth, she mingled with the audience after her show and was really quite lovely towards complete strangers.
There's a purity about Vashti's song-making that makes her stand out from the crowd. Perhaps - like most of us - she's someone who didn't fulfil her potential but isn't that largely what makes human beings both noble and tragic?
I used to brood about not "achieving my potential" until realising that the "I" that was supposed to achieve, was not a thing, mind or body. All that is part of ego. To "return home" was the real achievement - nearly free again.
I absolutely love her music, I wish she would do more interview's though. She keeps a low profile, same with Mike Oldfield and Kate Bush, but to me they are the most beautiful people, who have left a lasting impression on me and I haven't even met them.
Give Karen Dalton a go... Very different indeed, but another gem that's recently been rediscovered. The only similarities is that they're women 'folk' singers, and they're unique! 😊
Such a sad story... Vashti highly contributed to my youth music taste creation back in 2008, I still love her voice and songs, but the way she's talking right here... You can still hear saddnes in her voice, saddnes of those 30 years ... Such a sad story...
Vashti's "Just Another Diamond Day" album is a sweet tonic to my soul. Such a pure and beautiful voice, floating like a gentle breeze over songs that drip with the dew of innocence, enchantment, charm and simplicity. Her soothing music metamorphoses my stress into carefree butterflies. Thank you Vashti.
I remember when just another diamond day was released and i found that I liked it as it was so different from what was on the market at the time i love her soft singing voice its so relaxing and puts me in a different world where everything is at peace.
Sadly I have only discovered her through the series "Patriot" and fell in love with the "train song" and her voice. I am in process of going through anything I can get my hands on You Tube. My next task is learning to play the train song on the guitar.
You know when you hear someome and see someone special , you instantly fall in love. That's the case with me. Discovered her music last year and I am sure, her voice is played in heaven too.
just found this video on a whim, recognized the name vaguely but couldnt make a connection. wasnt until she mentioned animal collective at the end that i recognized what i knew her from. what a great video.
My little hamsters love her voice. I put her music on and they settle themselves into their soft bedding and groom themselves, munch their seeds or fall asleep. They’re all very comforted by her voice right now.
Vashti is an incredible songwriter. Yesterday night i listened to "just another diamond day" for the first time and i couldn't believe what a sweetness was invading my heart and my soul. When i read that her first album passed almost completely unobserved i couldn't believe it. Vashti has one of the sweetest and greatest voice of all time. I got bewitched by her.
I love your music and I will run out and get your new work. I just today learned about you. I am your age and I play guitar and write songs myself. Thank you so very much for your beautiful voice.
I love you so much Vashti. I fell in love with your words and your voice, and this is the first time I'm seeing your beautiful self. Everything about you is perfection
Very beautiful songs, pure as the snow each and every one. Her name kills me. How on earth does someone who eventually becomes a star posses such a unique fascinating name. Sometimes chant it when shaving. Daughter & myself both love Diamond Day.
Vashti i loved you in the beginning and found you through Donovan. I said i was going to live in a caravan like you and sit inside a little hillside when the storms came. I still greatly admire you gentle and tender rendering of the tinkly twinkling tunes. Love to you kind heart.
A beautiful spirit, I wish she lived next door and popped over for tea and buns from time to time :-) and yes, her music is something else. Rose Hip November always moves me.
What a beautiful, kind, gentle, clever woman.

Help her get famous again now.. Why not? Just do it now.
She's so quiet and humble. I just love her.
she has the most relaxing voice and demeanour, i wish i lived in her house, 'tho i,d be asleep most of the time, with a smile on my face.
johnny shep YES!
VASHTI BUNYANN I CRY MYSELF TO SLEEP WHILE LISTENING TO YOUR SONGS WAAAA
She's a very sweet woman and I enjoyed chatting with her after she gave a concert in my town. Very down to Earth, she mingled with the audience after her show and was really quite lovely towards complete strangers.
Vashti has the power to take us to other worlds.

This is a beautiful comment! :)
I used to brood about not "achieving my potential" until realising that the "I" that was supposed to achieve, was not a thing, mind or body. All that is part of ego. To "return home" was the real achievement - nearly free again.
Aye these are indeed beautiful comments 💙
Великолепный комментарий!
She is still so shy, cute, a little nervous about it. She is awesome I hope she goes on tour soon and plays some concerts here for sure.
I absolutely love her music, I wish she would do more interview's though. She keeps a low profile, same with Mike Oldfield and Kate Bush, but to me they are the most beautiful people, who have left a lasting impression on me and I haven't even met them.
Darby O'Gill. Yess!
I could listen to her singing anything, all day long! Sooo underated❤
I'm in 2019, and I JUST discovered her music omg
2020 here, and my 21-year-old son introduced her to me!! Wow. Superlative. Thank you, Abe!
Give Karen Dalton a go...
Very different indeed, but another gem that's recently been rediscovered.

i always thought she sounded similar to Converge ;)
Sad...why?
She's more so calm rather than sad, I mean if you want to hear sad then listen to Molly Drake, THAT'S WHAT SAD SOUNDS LIKE
I just bought her new CD & it's my absolute favorite music right now.
Vashti's "Just Another Diamond Day" album is a sweet tonic to my soul. Such a pure and beautiful voice, floating like a gentle breeze over songs that drip with the dew of innocence, enchantment, charm and simplicity. What a nice energy. So calm, humble, nice. I love your songs, Vashti.
Has there ever been a more modest singer than Vashti Bunyan?
If there were then you'd probably never hear of them
She still be so beautiful and an amazing person after all these years... good to see her again !!
I remember when just another diamond day was released and i found that I liked it as it was so different from what was on the market at the time i love her soft singing voice its so relaxing and puts me in a different world where everything is at peace.
LOVE THIS!!! She is a new find for me - but how wonderful to have this lovely interview.
She's such an angel. I absolutely adore her. :) This is lovely!
Sadly I have only discovered her through the series "Patriot" and fell in love with the "train song" and her voice. I am in process of going through anything I can get my hands on You Tube. My next task is learning to play the train song on the guitar.
Same here! Great song and great show
Its amazing that she still has the same voice after so many years.
EMcCay14 ikr? Truly amazing
She kept on that "two packs of day of Marlboro's" to keep it sounding so good. She's dedicated. :)
It's got a bit of an Edinburgh twang now
Amazing the simplicity of a human been. Such a nice soul, love her...
Unintentional ASMR gold right here
her voice is so calming oh my god
her voice is so calming and gentle
0:34 バシティバニャンにcome in て言われたら、それだけで感動して泣きそう。
Ms.Bunyan says "come in" and I am so moved that I almost cried.
You know when you hear someome and see someone special , you instantly fall in love. That's the case with me. Discovered her music last year and I am sure, her voice is played in heaven too.
2021 any one?

Unintentional asmr
Wow. She is absolutely gorgeous! Her, her voice, her songs. What an angel.
She has a lovely laugh. Bewitching and other worldly. We need more people like this amongst us.
I love how I’m listening to this music. It came out the year I was born, and it’s still alive today!
My little hamsters love her voice. I put her music on and they settle themselves into their soft bedding and groom themselves, munch their seeds or fall asleep. They’re all very comforted by her voice right now.
I feel good knowing such people are out there in the world
Her music is like honey to my ears. Discovered her when I got into folk, and since then, she's in my top 5 artists ever.
i can listen to her talk all day..
She is so amazingly kind and soft spoken. I feel a kindredness to this sweet, wonderful woman. ❤
Her music was so creative. It stands the test of time. I cant wait to get her cds.
its so amazing seeing her now after all the years
She's amazing and incredible to believe Train Song was released in 1966 versus just yesterday. Way ahead of her time!
if only she knew that i sing 17 Pink Sugar Elephants all the time ❤ her music got me through my darkest times
She has a very soft voice. Seems like the perfect voice for ASMR.
omg her voice stayed the same through these long years…❤
Vashti is an incredible songwriter. Yesterday night i listened to "just another diamond day" for the first time and i couldn't believe what a sweetness was invading my heart and my soul. I love her so much it hurts, sometimes I don’t even click in her videos because I know I’ll moved beyond what I am prepared. ❤
The most beautiful woman. She’s such an inspiration and I will forever live my favourite memories to her music 💕
I love your music and I will run out and get your new work. I just today learned about you. I am your age and I play guitar and write songs myself. Thank you so very much for your beautiful voice.
Vashti is the hidden flower amongst a valley of weeds that is 'pop/folk/rock' music. I hope she continues to write new matieral.
I like it. Consider myself a music guy but I never heard of her until ytube.
Such a beautiful being.

Great interview, with the same sweet presence as that of her music
Can't believe she looks sooo gorgeous after all these years. If only her friend Nick Drake were still alive as well.
Truly a beautiful soul, gorgeous woman😄
I love this woman
You can just tell she's the most lovely beautiful soul. 😊
It's awesome to hear her talk so highly of Devendra Banhart! Didnt realize they collaborated at this point.

She is the best
@ashleiyy Because the album didn't sell very well. She became discouraged.
