honestly, someone who does it near perfectly is what you want for instructional videos, it gives a reference for those who are pure "amateurs" but yet allows enough "mistakes" for you to break down the entire process so viewers can learn.
Maybe you can't change your posture just by watching an Alexander technique video. It's nice for a first impression but you better take some real lessons. You need a person to correct you multiple times to get it in your mind.

I find that one component of successful ASMR is that the person is very much themselves. I often feel mesmerized and tingly when I'm with people who are fully at ease with who they are, especially if the way they are is safely intimate, like Diana. Some people might feel uncomfortable with her gentle vulnerability, or even feel like they should laugh or mock. But Diana is so genuine that one could never really do that. Which leaves only the option of getting swept up in her intense belief in the seemingly wispy concept of the Alexander technique. Which is not at all to denigrate the technique. Quite the opposite, really. Diana is modeling the importance of something so slight being so very important. Maybe that's another good definition of ASMR. Making something as simple as standing up and sitting down the center of the universe for fifteen minutes.
At least for me, there is *only* unintentional ASMR. The sincerity and dedication towards whatever mesmerizingly boring or unfamiliar task is being carried out is absolutely critical to the experience. I think that's something that just cannot be faked.

I had the Alexander Technique YEARS ago at the University of Illinois in Champaign / Urbana! I MISS IT so much! It was sooo relaxing - and when my teacher would stand me up and sit me down - when it was done right - it was like I stood up with absolutely ZERO effort! I also got my head and spine so aligned - when I left, it was like I had no weight. She's not showing any table work here - but I absolutely LOVED the work my person would do on me, on a table. My spine would get so lengthened and my rib cage would get expanded - it was like 10 times better than any massage! So wish I could find someone who did this around Minneapolis. Maybe there is - I haven't looked in years.
I have now watched this so much that I dream about the Alexander method and my posture is just superb..... having said that, please make more videos. Your voice is angelic!

I thought if I became a side sleeper I could stop this but phone corners literally become smart missiles for my eyeballs. I'd almost buy one of those phone holders that wrap around the neck if I didn't already know i'd be laughed out of bed.

My scoliosis continues to trouble me. This video has not helped my scoliosis but has dramatically increased my chances of relaxation and sleep.

I actually went to a Alexander technique class after watching this video (500 times). Very pleasant, but the instructor wasn't nearly as magical as Diana. I would LOVE to take a class from her.

I had the Alexander Technique YEARS ago at the University of Illinois in Champaign / Urbana! I MISS IT so much! It was sooo relaxing - and when my teacher would stand me up and sit me down - when it was done right - it was like I stood up with absolutely ZERO effort! I also got my head and spine so aligned - when I left, it was like I had no weight. She's not showing any table work here - but I absolutely LOVED the work my person would do on me, on a table. My spine would get so lengthened and my rib cage would get expanded - it was like 10 times better than any massage! So wish I could find someone who did this around Minneapolis. Maybe there is - I haven't looked in years.
