This kit works phenomenal for road touring. A commuter’s paradise it is. As anyone knows, true Adventure riding takes place on the means streets. Distracted Cagers are way more unforgiving than water crossings, dirt and gravel. 😂

What size are you wearing ? Whats your hight and weight ? It fits you rather loose i think ? So you have room to layer underneath ? Great review man keep up the good work! Greatings from Belgium.

Thanks for thé vidéo. How this compares to Induction and Marrakesh in terms of temperature range? I am looking for a Klim jacket for summer only, a direct comparasion of their full range would be great (including Infuction Pro), thanks

I like your video style and thoroughness. I do road drop tests of garments and materials. I built a rig to drop samples onto any road from 1 meter high. I’ve found ceramic coated fabrics, such as superfabric and Schoeller’s ceraspace, to be nothing special. Any cordura, ballistic nylon and polyester of even heavy weights to be terrible. Most mesh is even worse. None survived a single drop from height because they are damaged in the impact. Basically they burst on first or second impact (there are usually 2 bounces and 3 impacts during a fall). Only cowhide and high denier nylon/kevlar woven fabric passed this test from a realistic drop height. My test is not that severe and simulates an elbow strike on a medium abrasiveness asphalt road. Shoulders, knees and hips would have far more kinetic energy. Leather overlays at the joints is really the best way to go. Perforated is fine too.
I dumped all my textiles for a perforated leather jacket, with textiles only at the low-risk zones.

Does this offer more protection on the abrasion ones than the Induction Pro?

Nice video still trying to justify the cost. Currently using joe rocket mesh jacket. Just find it hard to justify $550 for a mesh jacket

Nice video style 👍🏾. I am on my second Klim Badlands suit, but the summers are brutal in them. I am seriously considering the Baja S4 with the rain suit to match, but I’m wondering if properly paired with the right amount of undergarment layering could this suit be used in extreme cold like the Badlands?

Not sure how it would fare in the extreme cold, but yes...much more comfortable than the Badlands over long hauls in our opinion!

I just got my Badlands Pro (jumped the gun as they were running out of stock with the new more expensive A3 coming in), but thinking about complimenting it with the S4. I'd then be covered for the next millennia, though. So, upto what temperatures will Badlands work? When does it get brutal? Unfortunately no opportunity for hot weather testing yet ...

    But, how's the Jacket?

    Is the Klim induction cooler?

It is, but you are giving up a lot in terms of functionality. The S4 is a great jacket!

Price: Zero out of five. Who is crazy enough to spend 600$ on a mesh jacket? Yeah it’s cordura etc… But still 🤷🏼‍♂️
