Really good looking biscotti - grew up eating anisette/almond ones.
Will be trying these for Christmas 🎄🎄

I am right there with you. I started out last year saying I was going to lose 10 pounds, and at the end of the year I only had 20 to go! 😂 I’m blaming it all on Covid.

Man does look so good and I love the Anise the only thing that was missing was dipping them in chocolate but that's a personal preference then again I would dip my fingers in chocolate and eat them if I could, great job!

Too funny. I have made them where I dip the bottom side in chocolate before, but personally, I didn't like them as much. To me, the almond & anise flavors come through better on their own. Plus, there's no temptation to dip my fingers in chocolate and eat them! Lol

I dip mine in chocolate too, sometimes drizzle it but mostly I dip bottom in chocolate and cool on wax paper...I was the first one in my family to EVER make Biscotti, now its REQUIRED for Christmas, lol EVERYONE loves them!!! So Yummy 😋

You've inspired me to try this recipe. I love biscotti but I've never thought of making them. I'm thinking they would also make great gifts. Thanks!

Funny you should mention that. That was my plan with these, because it is a pretty big batch. But because of the quarantine, I only ended up packaging and giving away a few to my daughter and her roommate....which meant, my husband and I ate the rest! They were long gone, before we finished editing the video, and now I want more. Be sure to post pics on my FB page when you make them.

Just put mine in the oven. My dough was not quite as soft as yours. I halved the recipe. Hopefully they'll turn out good. Will share the final result once we taste it.

I made 1 large log since I halved the recipe. I used 1/2 tbsp anise seeds and 1/2 tsp anise extract. After slicing I noticed some doughy parts in the centre so I baked the slices on both sides instead of 1 side, with the final time being at 325 degrees for 10 min. Overall result was really nice. Flavour and texture improved as they cooled.

I call it An-I-z, and I use Anise extract...I also cut at an angle much more diagonal than you did...last step I dip in chocolate to end them off

Want to try this but could I add half of anise seeds and then a tsp of anise liquid flavoring? (Watkins brand). Or will that be too strong of an anise taste?

    • @helenachase78
