Male Victims Still Aren’t Taken Seriously: Anime Culture and the Genius of Chainsaw Man

  • The very real reality of male sexual assault victims is often glamorized or shrugged off in our society, and I thought it would be very interesting to look into the pressing issue of their often-dismissed struggles using one of my favorite pieces of recent media. In this video, I discuss the intersection of societal attitudes, including the influence of anime culture, and the profound impact it has on how we treat male victims. I highly recommend Chainsaw Man if you like Jujutsu Kaisen or more ""comedic" mangas.

also something I forgot to mention but Denji’s stupidity is played for laughs but people forget that canonically he has never gone to school and basically raised himself. Its not like he was intended to be comic relief and a lot of his fights such as the hotel one shows hes actually pretty clever. The fact that one of his dreams for regular life is to go to school is a big part of this
ANOTHA EDIT: i didnt expect this vid to be this popular in views, so if i left out some manga parts like Fumiko or other scenes it was because I figured more people have watched the anime or finished Act 1 versus people who are up to date. Definitely need to treat every vid with confidence that itll blow up and reach who its supposed to reach.

And I think what Fujimoto is going for is having comedy and tragedy overlap. It can be funny at one glance but if you think about it hard enough, it's just sad.
Like with the trauma flashback that Falling Devil did to Denji. He sawed it out of his brain instead of overcoming it. It was funny when I first saw it but after a while, I realized that it implies Denji is not capable of overcoming his trauma and needs help.

Denji is actually the best subversion of a shonen protagonist I've seen. He's should not be looked at neither as a comedic character nor as a role model (like usually in shonen). He is a victim and a very flawed individual doing the best he can under shitty circumstances. And in the Part 2, we actually see him grow, being able to assume responsibility and pursue long-term goals.

England resident here (age of consent is 16) My stance has always been it's less weird the closer in age you are. If i was 27 and date a 16 year old, legal or not... Eyebrows would be raised. But if you were a 16 year old scoring with a girl a year or 2 older at some party? Debatable. Regardless of the AoC in your country, people are still mature on an individual scale.

I really fucking hate how male victims in media are treated. I'm a girl and a victim of SA. These recent chapters and seeing Denji's raw emotions and his breakdown really hit me hard- he's the first male character I've ever related to in terms of our SA experiences and how we feel, he reminds me a lot of myself when I was still struggling. It fucking sucks seeing how people potray denji as some gooner or something just because he's a guy. Male or not SA victims will always be SA victims. People struggle to understand that SA doesn't have seperate categories for genders- it's still SA and should be treated the same.

The Invincible comic portrays male rape in a very realistic way. It is definitely treated as a big deal and portrayed as being just as violent and disturbing as a male raping a female. The woman doing the raping is also not overly attractive either.
The comic goes into the trauma caused by the event and how men often try to bottle said trauma away which just ends up making it grow worse since they have no one to talk to,

there are also huge differences in the effects sexual assault has on boys and girls. For examples girls can get pregnant and it has an entirely different psychological effect on them due to how male and female virginity is perceived and gender roles. Masculinity and the way that males and females cope with trauma in different ways also plays a big role.

When it’s female sexual abuse being portrayed it’s always from the perspective of a physical power imbalance. The man is stronger then the girl. But when it’s male sexual abuse, people don’t seem to understand that it is an emotional power imbalance. And it’s always older women going for a young boy, someone who is the easiest to persuade and emotionally manipulate, because they are both physically weaker and still mentally developing. It gets worse when you realise that most kids, regardless of gender, are more trusting of women then men. It’s scary.

It isn't (just) emotional. I've been SA'd at a job, and once as an AirBNB guest. I let it "slip" because being in a foreign country whose language I don't speak, good luck if it comes to a legal problem, and she was an old woman, so sometimes you read stories about some old woman being ... and I always wondered who does that, I mean who is even into that. Well, that moment I thought she can just make any claims and that's how these stories happen. So least bad outcome I'm on the street in a bad neighbourhood at night, worst outcome I'm dead.

As a guy who got SA'd by a female friend (which was also my first time with a girl), it did not leave physical scars but I sure do have some serious trust issues (when it comes to intimacy) with women as a result. It would not surprise me if it is why I am aromantic too.
I got blamed and yelled at when it came to light what had happened, because obviously it had to be the boy's fault (this was in the 90's), and I also hardly ever spoke about it after that. I think I've told like two close friends over the years.
I've also never had any romantic feelings for anyone since then, and still get uncomfortable if women I don't know overtly flirt with me. My first experience was unwanted and a complete breach of trust that took years to get over, so why would I willingly put myself in that situation again? I'm quite capable of being happy and living a life I really enjoy on my own.
Wonder if my complete disinterest in romantic relationships is why I've ended up working mostly with women all my life? 🤔 All I know is to be friendly and helpful, but I never flirt or make a pass at anyone because I'm just not interested in being anything but work-friends, so we tend to get along just fine. 🤷‍♂️

While, yes, Denji's mind is fucked at this point, the violence isn't what killed Makima. People were still dying as he was attacking her and dicing her up into smaller portions. It was the blood that Power gave to Denji that "ran amok" inside of her that prevented her from healing back to normal. If iirc, Kishibe even mentions that people will keep dying the longer it takes to kill her. No, Denji did not perceive the violence as an act of love, he saw EATING HER BODY as an act of love, which is what ultimately killed her, and is kind of more fucked up, if you ask me. SPOILERS BEYOND: You can see that he doesn't confuse love and violence in the way he takes care of Makima's reincarnation, Nayuta. He treats her as his little sister and cares about her well being and isn't abusive in the slightest.

Something I want to comment on with the argument of “well the age of consent in Japan is 16 so Himeno didn’t do anything bad” only focuses on the legality of the situation rather than the morality. Just because something’s legal, doesn’t mean it’s moral.

If you can get thrown in jail in-universe for that then that probably means that the age of consent in Chainsaw Man's Japan is higher than 16, thus placing Himeno in a bad place legally (even if she was relieved they didn't do it in the end)

As someone who was groomed both by a man, and later on a woman, this video hits Fuckin hard. When Denji talked about how he feels and how his hormones are getting in the way (especially because my therapist has said I likely suffer from hyper sexuality due to my tendencies). You end up feeling broken. Feeling like something is inherently wrong with you or that your sexual aspects are the only ones that matter because they're the ones you were praised for by your abusers.
I would be called slurs or I'd be told it was my fault when I talked about the VERY abusive guy that groomed me (14 and 18) and I would always be told that it "wasn't actually grooming" or that people wished they were me when i talked about the woman (15 and mid-30s)
I can only be thankful that both were online, but it still ended up damaging me fundamentally growing up. I was never assaulted thankfully, but I still was made to feel, ironically enough, like a dog. Like I was just supposed to make them happy and obey them. It hurt. A lot.
I still don't think I've fully recovered from it and I'm 19 years old now. I consider romantic relationships with women basically impossible, despite the possibility presenting itself on more than one occasion. I don't really trust anyone to a full extent anymore.
It took me around 7 months at 15 to recover from the worst of it, and it still affects me because I have very little trust for people, I hate making friends, and im constantly paranoid of any new friend I end up making. And the fact that people actually simp for Makima or say things like "you should've just fought back/I wish I was in your position" when it hasn't happened to them, *makes me want to fucking vomit*

But I'm empathetic enough to often be able to understand the viewpoint of people even if I disagree with them. Like I can understand the motives of racist people and I can also understand that often times they're just repeating what their parents have told them their whole life, even though I know their entire logic is fallacious as heck.
But with this, I just cannot get myself to understand what would bring someone to say you're lucky or that they'd like to be in your place. Don't they see how bad you feel? Do they think they'd somehow not feel the same as you? What is wrong with my species? I am so hopeless

We got a lot of those “but you’re so lucky” comments any time we’d open up (or people asking him how it feels to be spiked rather than showing empathy). I never really considered my situation SA because it was someone I was in a relationship until my therapist told me what it was. My husband didn’t consider his past absolutely beyond messed up until I broke it down by switching the genders for him. We’ve been reading CSM lately and it’s been a bit more eye opening for him and helping him unpack what he went through and how severe that power imbalance was with all of his abusers. It’s a really good destruction of those tropes and a really good portrayal of what exactly men and boys go through when we’re in that situation. Our first thought never seems to be “this is wrong” because it’s been engrained into us to be happy a woman got with us, or that older women are attractive. Media like this is so important because it helps victims understand that they’re victims, and it’s sad to see people boil it down to the same old “hot woman wants him he’s so lucky” line that my husband and I hear whenever we would express distaste.

It makes me SO mad how many men online see this SA as a "coomer shinji" Shinji assaulted an unconscious person, where as Denji was SA'd. MANY of the misconceptions on SA for all people is the guilt that they "came". The fact that I see so many men online saying Denji "levelled up" and more revolting assumptions makes me feel disgusted. Denji has a shown history of freezing during ANY time a woman has taken advantage of him sexually. In the VERY CHAPTER before Denji is SA'd he cries and breaks down that people see his hypersexuality as a JOKE. He literally cries and breaks down that he's being abused and taken advantage of, yet so many male fans are continuing to call him a coomer. Asa was also SA'd against her will as she has stated many times she is repulsed by sex and doesn't want sex. Denji was finally coming to a similar view to Asa, and in his POV, he was then assaulted by her after breaking down. Yoru lost control of Asa because of how terrified she was at the acts Yoru committed against her will. Theres even a chapter where Yoru explains she can't take control when she's paralyzed with fear. I really hope Fujimoto does both of them justice in how they react to the SA because both of POV's are incredibly sad and tragic. Neither of them enjoyed it and its really heartbreaking for people to still treat denji like a pervert funny dude, even though he's possibly the best representation of SA victims I've ever seen written, especially as a main character.

    • @Kroban_d4c
      @Kroban_d4c 4 місяці тому

But Fujimoto never does justice to this shit, hes a fucking weirdo, I dont get why people keep putting him on a pedestal as "a masterpiece writer" only because he made some good funny and interesting characters in part 1. Like, didn't Fujimoto himself said on an interview that he would enjoy being one of Makima's lapdog or something like that? He wrote Makima for himself, not to depict grooming and shit like that. Denji will never make progress as a charater because this fucking loony enjoys putting him into these situations and portrays those scenes in a horrible manner.
In these last chapters, 3 seconds after Denji's breakdown Fujimoto goes and follows it with the whole "cutting your dick off" scene, which made the whole thing seem like another of those "crazy quirky chainsaw man weird scenes". So of course a lot of readers are going to interpret the next scene, Denji getting SA'd by Asa, as a follow up to "the crazy shit" and not so much as what it truly happens, which is Denji getting SA'd. If Fujimoto truly cared about writing a story depicting these things in an honest manner he would be taking it more seriously than this, not putting "crazy shit" in the middle.

That’s something important to acknowledge, in no way does a victim having an orgasm mean they enjoyed it, the body only needs stimulation for that to happen, regardless of intent. Both Denji and Asa are victims because they didn’t consent to this. Definitely not Asa and most likely it seems Denji as well. Until we see more of how Denji feels at this point it now confirms what everyone was anticipating and comparing with Tokyo ghoul. That there will be an intimate scene between Asa and Denji, but this time it will highlight the theme of clear consent. Because most of the sexual jokes done against Denji are against his will and at his expense.

Asa has a crush on denji but hates his immaturity and Denji wants to improve and be praised for being a hero and to have romantic intimacy and love. People are so fucking sexist and media literate I've literally seen people being called "sensitive twitter users" for simply pointing out this was assault. They think this can't be traumatic because he's been hurt worse. (Even though he's been hurt normally, not ever sexually. And yes, there is a very big difference between the two. Someone stabbing you vs someone violating you are extremely different traumatic events.) They think this wasn't assault simply because Denji didn't fight back. As if not fighting back means you wanted it. There are cases where people refrained from fighting back for fear of making it worse. Denji was in shock and didn't know what to do, 10 seconds ago Yoru just said she'd hurt him. If someone grabs you and says they're going to hurt you (and have hurt you before, as Yoru did also kick him in the nuts earlier), then they start making out with you, wouldn't you be in shock? Yes Denji could overpower her, but considering he doesn't know she's a devil and just thinks she's a regular person, he probably doesn't want to. But he didn't want this either.
It's not a simple situation, and the fact so many people are up in arms about "sensitive snowflakes" calling this for what it is, is really telling. Just think if the roles were reversed and Denji did this to Asa, everyone would be on the same page.

It's genuinely quite fucked up. I've talked to some women about a case like this and they all considered it to be "not that bad" compared to a female victim (even those that participated willingly). I've even seen a woman claim that the female perpetrator was the real "victim" in a case where the boy was like 9 or 10.

I'm not saying it's right, but I think it's mainly due to evolution and who takes on the risk in reproduction. Male sperm is low cost, men don't bear the burdens or risks of pregnancy, breastfeeding, or have a baby to look after (unless they opt into it). On tbe other hand, female fertility is more finite, not just in years, but every pregnancy takes a huge burden on the body, you can't get pregnant again for around a tear, there is a chance of dying each time (very important in historical contexts) and you are stuck with an infant. So, from an objective, biological standpoint, SA of men is not as big a deal as SA on women, and is more akin to regular assault. While SA on women is a more serious violation of reproductive rights that risks killing them and reduces their chances of future offspring with a partner they choose.

Like how Makima simply uses sex as a weapon becausw that's what humans get enticed by inspite of not feeling any sexual desires at all. To her denji was simply a body. Infact Makima's own desire was something as pure as a loving hug. She cries at the movie scene where a mother and son hug out genuine simple love. She sees how much of a lap dog he becomes of makima's praise so when she sees makima taking a special interest in denji she tries to one up makima by trying to seduce denji away from makima but himeno fails at it cause she's not that kind of person and because makima had already gotten into Denji's head. The fact that everyone is just ignoring how important this moment is for Denji and how terrible it is for both him and Asa who is trapped in her body as it is happening - it's just saddening.
It reminds me of when the anime first came out and every reaction I saw, especially from women, was just that of indifference or disgust towards Denji's unhealthy sexuality, which caused by his stunted social development. AKA not his fault.
They were shown a 16 year old boy who had to sell his organs to survive, who lived in a shed and dreamed to be intimate with a girl and have a nice breakfast, but the empathy just stops because his goal is to "touch boobs"? Completely disregarding the fact that this goal came about because his base desires were all he had. His experiences in life were so terrible that he simply could not dream bigger or have any aspirations beyond the most basic instinct. For a thing that he has been denied his entire life, intimacy. And then comes Makima, and people treat her "chair" scene with him as fan service. Idk, man, it annoyed me.

Easy. Before Chapter 167, or even better before Part 2, Chainsaw Man was just a wacky-to-serious battle shounen. One that places a lot of emphasis on Denji finding himself and that also involves Denji being taken advantage of sexually, but one that had enough action scenes for people to elide. Even the obvious manipulator Makima was just taken as a final boss, albeit a final boss with SA themes, ignoring that Power did weird stuff, as did Himeno, and Reze also wanted to kill him, and now that Yoru did that Asa is also like that to Denji. Basically, it was shoved behind enough trappings that people did not care that by Chapter 167 Denji has been SA’d 3 times before, or at least sexually taken advantage of. Very literally, Denji would probably have to say stuff like “she SA’d me, but what does that mean” sort of thing to make it clear he was a victim of that by lack of experience in that area.

As somebody who was in a relationship with almost 20 year old guy when I was underage I can deeply relate to Denji in feeling like you are worth nothing but suddenly this very nice person comes to you and gives you affection and boosts your self esteem only to use and betray you in the end. Honestly its also kinda disgusting how most of the times male victims are brought up only to get laughed at or to dinimish female victims and not because of real compassion and empathy

I feel so bad for denji because the only time he actually got a romantic love interest makima not only took her life because it would fuck her plan up, but she used reze to finish denji off completely by reviving her to fight denji. The problem is reze was the only one who liked denji, not chainsawman.
Also the fact that everyone and everything denji loved is lost is absolutely disgusting, I think denji is at the lowest point in his life right now. Meowy is dead(the only remnant of physical memory of power) Nayuta is missing.(the only person that unconditionally loves denji) Folk hates him. The only people that saved him were interested in chainsaw man again, not denji, and on top of that he gets sexually assaulted. It hurts seeing my boy getting shit on and after that being groomed into thinking he likes the shit he's in.

Another EXTREMELY dark manga that masterfully deals with the subject of male grooming and power imbalances is Trail of Blood. In this case, the power imbalance of the groomer is even more extreme since it is a boy’s psychopathic mother doing the grooming and sexual coercion. It is an incredibly disturbing read and definitely not for the faint hearted but I think it is one of the best examples of a piece of media tackling the subjects discussed in this video.

I want to clarify something about the part of Japan's age of consent. Because the misconception about it that this UA-camr also has is dangerous. It can make a lot of a adult foreigners think that they can just go to Japan and hook up with 16yos no problem as long as it's consensual. However, there are overriding laws in Japan, more specifically, prefecture laws, that make it not okay for you to hook up with someone under 18. As an example, the age of consent in my country is also 16yo but that doesn't mean an adult can just hook up with a 16yo with no problem as long as its consensual. Because there's also the Law on Child Abuse that makes it illegal for an adult to hook up with someone under 18. When it comes to laws, the devil is on the details. Just because one law states something, doesn't mean that's all there is to it, you have to check every other law that might have connection to that, otherwise you'll get burned. That's why the practice of law is very hard.
To add more context, the age of consent in most states in America is also 16 and that goes for most Western countries. This misconception about Japan's age of consent also leads to many in the West thinking that Japan and other Asian countries are backwards where in reality they should check the age of consent in their own countries because it is likely the same or even lower.

You know, the whole argument or debate about it never really made sense to me and always gave me an icky feeling. I always understood it as those under that age just cannot really concent to doing such acts,as it isn't recommended to do those things before that point as they are far too young and immature, and it is always within the age groups at that point and before 18. It is somewhat a way to reconize the little autonomy of minors at that point and also help protect those under that point from those who are past it. At least that was how my parents describe it to me as a teen. granted i'm sure that it is possibly taking in other laws you just explained that help protect minors from adults by default and tie it up in a simple explaination and law. made complete sense and is how i treat it no matter where the subject is.

It's genuinely relieving to hear you describe Denji as a person, an affection starved teen trying to navigate trauma rather than just being described as more "non-human"-ish. I've had this interpretation of Denji as being less of a "haha look it's a horny selfish teen" and way more of a look at sociopathy or that he's at least very "sociopath coded" as sociopathy is predominantly seen as a learned behavior. He wasn't always so dead inside with his only desires being material, when he was with Pochita despite being endlessly beaten down he was clinging to some hope that life would get better, it's only after ep1 when Pochita saves him that he slides into this detachment and at multiple times he even comments to himself like "huh, I think this sort of thing would've made me feel something before, why doesn't it now? Oh well. I think I should still do what old me would've probably done anyway" like when he visits Aki in hospital and actively tries to be nice despite genuinely feeling pretty indifferent to it all. He wants to be loved, wants to feel but has near entirely lost the ability to do so since Pochita saved him. Whether that's bc of him losing Pochita from his life/that event being a trauma that pushed him over the edge and made him learn to fully mentally block out many of his emotions or somethin' else I dunno.
In short it's nice to hear ANYONE describe him as more than just "funni haha dumb self-focused and horny"
I've only seen up to where the anime has ended of CSM and I do intend to read the manga so if anyone replies plz don't spoil me

On the topic of age of consent, I think it's really sad how many people just associate pedophilia with legislation and completely ignore what actually makes it a real problem. It's not a matter of being above or bellow an arbitrary number, it's a matter of maturity and mental health. The number itself doesn't actually matter in the slightest, but people get so focused on it and being or not legal that they don't realize that.
For example, if Denji had the exact same personality and experiences, but just happened to be 18, it'd still be very wrong regardless, even if you account for hormonal changes due to age and everything, because the main issue is Denji's lack of social experience. His age isn't the problem here, his immaturity and gullibility when it comes to human interactions is.
Same applies to people getting caught up in the character's appearence too, and I don't just mean that as in "It's wrong because they look young", I mean it both ways.
For example, just look at the way people talk about characters like Katarina (Hamefura) or Emilia (Re:Zero) who are either very imature/innocent for their age or physically older than their mental age, characters like Denji (Chainsaw Man, obviously) or the Hero Academia girls (Boku no Hero Academia, obviously) who are drawn in a way that it's hard to tell their age, and characters like Illyasviel (Fate/Stay Night) or Miquella (Elden Ring), who are physically unable to age and mentally older.
No one really minds people sexualizing the first regardless of their mental age, the second is often filled with both people saying it's fine because of their looks or people acussing them saying "They're actually x years old". And the third has people accusing their sexualization not because they're physically immature, but specifically because they look young, as well as people sexualizing them not because they're mentally mature, but because they're actually older. Regardless of which side is right or wrong, neither uses the arguments they actually should be using, so many people don't give a shit about whether the character is mature or not, both physically and especially mentally, they just care about the superficial looks and numbers. I specifically pointed out Illya and Miquella because I think it's a really big problem that characters who don't age and characters who age normally but just look like kids are often treated the exact same way, when they definitely shouldn't be.

The funny thing is how people react to 167
I saw a lot of crying out for Asa due to her victim-blaming behavior, feeling guilty over her body being literally possessed by an actual devil to do sexual acts on another non-consenting party. Asa didn't do that,Yoru did that. Both Denji and Asa in that moment are victims, one wasn't in a correct state of mind and the other literally didn't have bodily autonomy.
I judge people who say they like CSM based on how they talk about Denji. Cause at first I also rolled my eyes thinking "oh great the pervy trope as a protag,is this gonna be Meliodas again?" but I quickly realized Denji is just traumatized. His hypersexuality was always part of his desire to have a "normal life" cause he only knew what "normal" was from an outside perspective. And Makima offering that "normalcy" connecting it to sexual interactions only blurred the line further.
Denji is a great example of an SA victim that copes through hypersexual behaviors.

Something to note is that men and women are attracted to different things, since nami was provided as an example of sexualization, I’ll proffer the counterpoint of Zoro. His propensity of shows of strength and build are very attractive to a female audience, in general anime is designed to show idealized human forms to trigger the halo effect in people (movies do it too), and is why characters who are not meant to be sympathetic are not typically traditionally attractive, such as blackbeard
Back to the original topic, this application of the halo effect is *very* heavily used in regards to makima, leading to it to be easier for her to manipulate the people around her, despite her blatant red flags.

    • @solarmoth4628
      @solarmoth4628 4 місяці тому +9

I’d argue though the Zoro is solely drawn that way to be specialized but to also match the power fantasy of the young male audience where as all the attractive women in one piece have grown into the same of body type. One piece was primarily drawn for an audience of young boys and now men even though there are of course tons of women and girls who are fans.
The “attractive lady body type” body type does nothing to signify strength and everything to signify attractiveness. How does every attractive female character have a super skinny waist and large breast with no muscles despite being extremely strong? Even the ones who fight with weapons like swords. Like Tashigi’s body post time skip is completely different and suddenly her shirts always open and her body is the same as every other female character. And the gratuitous amount of butt fan service in the egg head arc. And he has so many female characters with the same face especially in the late seasons where as the men get distinct facial features. Oda has also made many sexist remarks about women and it really shows in the ways he draws women. Oda doesn’t care that much about female fans enough to give the fan service.

    • @solarmoth4628
      @solarmoth4628 4 місяці тому +6

Oda himself when criticized by women fans has said that he is drawing “A man’s dream” and that a woman editor would be accepted into the office if she was “a beautiful babe with big knockers” but the office is full of perverts so she shouldn’t come. When drawing genderbent characters, he gave them the same attractive lady body type but now zoro won’t hold a sword in “her” mouth because she’ll chop teeth and woman luffy only wants to eat salad. He draws women that way solely because it’s attractive to him and it’s fan service while men are drawn that way because he thinks they look strong. If you look at his replies to female fans, it’s clear he really does not care about their opinion or what they find attractive, again he’s drawing for what he thinks is “a man’s dream”.
These are his own words: Oda (2018): I appreciate that One Piece characters are popular among women, but basically I want to draw them in a way that boy readers find cool and interesting. For example, Sanji is not only cool but also a pervert. The ones that are liked by the same gender are trustworthy.
O: Whoa. The girls are rebelling. What are you gonna do about that, guys?! OK, leave it to me! I’ll lay down the law for us all. What the hell are you talking about? I’m a goddamn shonen manga-ka! A MAN’S DREAM!! NEVER ENDS!!! (That was good) (Chapter 381, Page 86)

Denji has always only strived for his basic needs. Food, shelter and that's something Makima used to manipulate him, just using the little he wanted to then slowly break him appart. It's insanely fucked up but seeing Denji progress and realise about the true value he has as a person is also an amazing part of chainsaw man. The realism is insane

I can’t stress enough how much the reaction to chapter 167 disappointed me. There were so many people saying that Denji was lucky and liked it and even CELEBRATED what happened as a “win” for him. Imagine missing the point that badly. Not to mention the people blaming Asa for it or saying she also enjoyed it despite the fact that it was Yoru at fault in the case. I hate how many gooners watch and read Chainsaw man and find it relatable for all the wrong reasons because they consistently miss the important points this amazing piece of media is trying to present.
