This has made my day! I taped it on VHS when it first aired and all my mates ended up borrowing it cos it's hilarious. My band did a cover of his song at Manchester Academy once for a laugh and Mike Joyce from The Smiths was laughing just head off - he knew it too 😂
Hi fans. A little early Christmas present for you. It was 30 years ago, on the 18th of December,1991 that Manslorter played their first ever gig which features as part of the denouement of the programme with that ramshackle version of the mighty Acca Dacca's, You Shook Me All Night Long. Well, check the latest track on my channel here. 30 years later.😉☺ This is dedicated to those Slorter boys, to all of you who still love the programme and keep the faith in rock n roll. Thank you all.☺
I'm watching because of Chart Music the TOTP podcast which is absolutely brilliant and finally found where the intro bit comes from. "what do you like listening to.... chart music"
I very occasionally wonder where the quaint talking heads, remember when this was a new show, retrospective follow up will ever come to pass...especially as I'll be 50 next year.😀 Still metal though.☺\m/
Wow this really resonated with me when I saw this back in 1992. I was learning bass and in a band called Microwave Death and we were similar to these guys.
@@dkizxpt-su3ze after the documentary Chris received a call from a certain Qualcast Mutilator of Lawnmower Deth. As a result, Manslorter opened for them at The Marquee Club in London.

We're self trained soldiers of metal who have been scorned and rejected by the mainstream who have survived the pressure of being outcast,so staying in and apart from other people during the Covid19 is going to be an absolute doddle for us. Chris Needham is a legend and a genius. His monologues were amazing. Way more wisdom contained in them than there should be in a teenager.
He was practically retarded, but slim. Now he is retarded, and obese.
I've heard the clip from this so many times on the Chart Music podcast I had to watch it!

The Chart Music podcast is ridiculously good. Especially Taylor Parkes.
Yep they’re all good but Parkes is the best.

Me and my friends still quote this line to this day. Genius.
What a laugh! Absolutely brilliant. Like a mish mash of spinal tap, napoleon dynamite and Bad News comic relief.
Perfectly put
Just found this after watching a programme on channel 5 about bad nineties TV. I try bought it was worth a watch personally

I was 15 years old at this point in time. A year younger than this fellow. I see a lot of myself in him, it makes me cringe and I love it.
I was a bit younger than that when it aired, maybe 11 or 12 I guess, and it's funny to recall how big and grown up he seemed to me at that time!
