Well said Wexford Town! I'm sixty years old and I have been on Dublin City Council housing waiting list for over eight years and I still have hundreds of people ahead of me. I am disabled and living in private rental accommodation which is there flights of stairs from the ground floor. My flat has mold and is drafty and cold in the winter. I know that all of these so-called refugees will end up being prioritised ahead of me and other native Irish people when it comes to housing. We need to control and police our borders properly. No passport, no entry ⛔
I hear that county councils have a 3 tier priority list for housing - 1) Ukrainians 2) All other Migrants 3) Irish Back in February a homeless Irishman died on the street in Sligo - the council would not house him - but they will house Ukrainians..! I checked online a few weeks ago and there were over 2,000 hotels in Ukraine taking bookings - 10,000 places available to rent if you include flats guest houses etc...! - quite frankly I don't see the need for them to leave the country if it is safe in the West never mind come all the way to Ireland to stay in our hotels at our expense...!

I was a minority Euroskeptics but hoped for EU reform, since we are seeing more and more attacks on nation state and sovereignty, I think my concerns have been realised and it's time for Irish leaders to reform or we exit the EU by public mandate for referendum to decide same, although going by the public response to the cvid fear campaign, they'd probably vote against an exit

With well planned, controlled levels, with clearly thought out integration plans, a healthy number of immigrants could be carefully dispersed and welcomed into most Countries with very few issues. Most Irish people vote based on how it will affect their assets, it's coming from a place of fear and addiction to false stability more than anything else imo.
We need a party that's made up of sane adults that has cross-appeal and who can also link up with independents.

With well planned, controlled levels, with clearly thought out integration plans, a healthy number of immigrants could be carefully dispersed and welcomed into most Countries with very few issues. Real refugees need help. But like one of the ladies said, it's as if the gov want division. I don't understand how governments across Europe are run so poorly and with such little fore thought and planning (and not just in terms of immigration). Something has gone seriously wrong.
