  • This video visits Wexford town on the south East coast of Ireland about 80 miles south of Dublin. We walk along South and North Main street, a distance of about half a mile.
    A lot of work goes into these videos. You can now buy me a pint as a means of appreciation for my work on Naked Ireland, no obligation, obviously - only if you can afford it... I appreciate it. Cheers.

    The idea of the video is just to give a bit of a taste for the town, however, it’s shot very early on Sunday morning so there’s absolutely no one around. It’s a lovely calm way to experience the place, but be under no illusion, Wexford is generally a busy town. Under normal circumstances all the shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants would be bustling with people and the streets would be packed with shoppers. On this occasion it's more like a ghost town.
    Nevertheless, I think you will see that Wexford has a lot to offer? There’s a really nice combination of old traditional shops (with their original shop fronts) and new places that lend a modernity to the town centre.
    Wexford is the county town of Wexford County. It lies on the south side of Wexford harbour and it’s well connected by train and by road to Dublin. In 2016 it had a population of just over 20 thousand people.
    The main street, as in all Irish towns, has some really quaint pubs that are well work exploring.
    The town was actually founded by the Vikings in 800AD and remained Viking territory for around 300 years until the local king of the Provence of Leinster, aided by his Norman ally, besieged the town in 1169.
    In the Medieval period it became an old English settlement
    The town suffered badly in the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland - in 1649 the town was sacked and burned and many of its inhabitants were killed. Later in 1798, Wexford became the epicentre of the revolt against the British. The United Irishmen held Wexford and in doing so massacred those loyal to the Crown.
    The town features an Opera Festival each year which is a significant event in the Irish cultural calander. A purpose built National Opera house now exists here and we’ll take a look at that in another Naked Ireland Video.
    As the town is an important harbour, landing fish daily, don’t be surprised to see fish on the menus of local restaurants. So this is the place to dine if you like seafood.
    We finish our walk at the Green Acres Gallery - an important cultural centre in the town.
    The Irish sport of Hurling has always been important in the town and here, at the end of the street, we can see a statue commemorating Nicky Rackard, a Wexford sportsman considered to be one of the greatest hurlers in the history of the game. He won two all Ireland medals, 4 Leinster medals, one National Hurling League medal and even a Leinster medal as a Gaelic footballer!

    I live in Australia these days but Wexford is my home town. My great grandfather was the editor of the local newspaper (surname Doyle) and the family had a big old house in the heart of the town. The other side of my family (Flynn) were from the Rosslare Harbour / Kilrane area. I can't wait for this pandemic to end so I can go home again.

      Covid what is really going on?
      =======================
      Covid is the SARS-CoV-2 Virus
      But the SARS-CoV-2 Virus has not been purified AND isolated AND genome sequenced end-to-end anywhere in the world.
      Pointless having a Test Swab as there is nothing to compare the test result too.
      PCR Test cannot identify a Virus.
      PCR Test is testing for nucleic acid which we all have in us.
      PCR Test cycled 45 times amplifies the sampe more than 1 trillion times.
      PCR is a process, not a test. "PCR does not verify any disease." Kary Mullis inventor of PCR.
      All PCR test results are invalid.
      Lateral Flow Antigen Test cannot identify a Virus.
      All Lateral Flow Antigen Test results are invalid.
      The only way to identify an individual Virus is a Spectroscopy Test.
      However as the SARS-CoV-2 Virus has not been isolated anywhere in the world there is nothing to compare the Swab Test sample too.
      Thus pointless having a Spectroscopy Test.
      Conclusion -- There is no SARS-CoV-2 airborne Virus.

      5G signal can be focused on a defined area called Beam Forming for example the brain and/or the lungs where the Graphene will accumulate within the body.
      Thus Graphene on the Test Swab and in the Injection and the Contaminated Face Mask enters the body either the brain and/or the lungs and can be activated by the 5G signal at any time.
      Tragically activating the Graphene left inside the body will kill the person.

    Thanks for sharing this. We're considering moving to Ireland from the States, and Wexford seems like an easier adjustment than, say, Galway, for people used to California's sunshine. Do you think people outside town are going to be welcoming to a family that wants to have a little land, grow a little food, have a few chickens, and learn the culture? Also, how polarized is Co. Wexford against immigration, or is it the case (like the U.S.) where some are welcome, and some are not? Again, thanks for the great video!

    • @nakedireland
      @nakedireland  11 місяців тому +1

      Hi Petra, wow, that’s a big step to take and I’m honestly not sure I’m in a position to properly advise. What I can say is that the Irish are generally welcoming. You may have seen a few slightly racist comments on some of my videos, on this one and on one I did recently about a place in Belfast called the Village. I think these people are the exception, but you get them everywhere. I’d say you’d have no problem either creating your Irish homestead or integrating with the locals. I’d guess you’d be welcomed with open arms. On the subject of Wexford v’s Galway, I’m afraid for me Galway would win hands down. I personally love the west coast. But, it sounds from your comment that you feel Wexford might suit you better in terms of climate. I don’t think there’s much difference to be honest. Remember, Ireland’s a very small country. It’s not like the US where you have completely different climates in different parts of the country.
