I am a "history nut" and I love these podcasts. Your story telling is excellent. I am nearly 77, but back when I was in high school, I loved history and was reading my history book so far ahead that my teacher took my book away from me until the rest of the class caught up with me. That broke my heart!!!
Sirs, thank you I've enjoyed this so much. You guys are wonderful for keeping the history unforgotten. You guys are my fav channel so far. Much respect and admiration.
This has been an outstanding season. You have to look at both sides. Yet, my heart always went with the Native Nations. They were fighting for their lands, livelihood and way of life. Why couldn't we just try to get along and understand?
Thank you so much I’ve listen to all the episodes they were amazing. I just have one question whatever happened with Samuel Deon the French trader that became friends with Red Cloud and eventually married into the Lakota tribe. I have tried my best to figure out who Samuel Deon actually married. I am a Deon trying to track down my family tree. Any help would be awesome. Thanks I hope to here from you soon. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I read that a sharpshooter was present picking off the soldiers at Custer's last stand and when soldiers eventually got up there they found a trail of blood but no person. For some reason, I have forgotten why, they decided this was a white man . I think because it was believed that an Indian would not have stayed back and fought from a distance. This may have been your relative?
Ft. Laramie treaty of 1868 is still the supreme law of the land, according to the u. s. Constitution. But the u.s. continues to violate the treaty on a daily basis.
Good point. The entire US was defeated in one fell swoop. But to be fair, the whole of the US standing army at the time was only about a thousand men. The ink on the US Constitution was barely dry, the US didn’t see much use for the idea of a standing army like it did for a standing Navy. They thought everything could be done with a well organized militias. They changed their minds after that. Thanks for bringing it up. Is an important part of US history few know anything about.

Red Cloud’s story is simply incredible. This is so well told.

Biggest defeat was St clairs defeat was it not?

This is an amazing "sentence ".
I love it but finish it where did my people go what did they do
I have all the empathy for the indians,as the same government is doing the same to fellow man today, just in a different form

I hate that I'm white man why couldn't we have just compromised and shared the land
That’ll what you get for sending 80 men against 2,000...
