This made me feel less alone as someone who experienced a tech marketing layoff in Oct. Sending you love and best of luck on the job hunt ❤
I know how it feels, I’ve tried to separate the layoff from feeling insecure about my skills, it’s hard! But opportunities will come up when we least expect, big hug ❤️
from a recruiting studying and transitioning into ux design, hiring managers really want to fill their role before everyone leaves for holidays and those signatures/approvals are harder to get. ...particularly for roles that have been posted for a bit. they want to settle on a person and hopefully get them in before the end of the year, or set them a start date when everyone's back in january. may be a better time than you think. keep at it. :)
Thankyou!! Good to know
Calling you mom after the interview to talk about how it went is so real! Best of luck on your job search!
Don’t worry you (or someone who’s reading this) will find your dream job , I got fortunate enough and found a job right out of college. I got a BFA in Photography and was very lucky to find a job in that field. Had the interview last week and start next year ❤️
Wish everyone else good luck 🍀
Hi, I recently caught your 'new start' video - I'm in the same place - looking for a new job today, in paid search. I discovered your channel a couple months ago when i started a new chapter in my career. You are quite inspirational. I wish you well in your new UX interviews
I am absolutely obsessed with you videos, They are like a burst of motivation and positively that keeps me going. From your awesome Vlogs to those satisfying organizing videos, I cannot get enough. Your content seriously inspires me to stay focused and chase after my dreams.
This is so sweet I’m glad you enjoy the videos, now I’m motivated to make the next one 🥰
Definitely cozy vibes!
Really appreciated this vid. It somehow calmed my soul lol 💕
I know exactly how you're feeling. I graduated in college in july and take a break, but now that I'm job searching things aren't going well. Many "nos" in my e-mail lol But I believe that 2024 will bring us jobs! The holiday season is tough, but I'm hoping that the next year will be good.
It can be such an awkward time job searching, you don’t know what to do with yourself
Fingers crossed you get a really cool opportunity soon ❤
Good luck, Lily! We're rooting for you❤💪❤💪❤
Your vlogs are always an inspiration.
Hey, Lily, nice video and so enjoyable! I know job search can be so stressful sometimes but the chill vibes I got from this was just so cheff's kiss. Also trying something new I am waiting myself to get a call for an interview to start studying UX/UI in a danish school. I am crossing my fingers 🤞 for both of us here. Hopefully this would be my next job 😊
I’m glad you enjoyed the video ❤ I hope your call goes well and new doors open for you!!
great to see my favorite korean source :D Your contents inspired me a lot and I love it! I'm crossing my fingers🤞
omg i love your editing skills so much!
Thankyou!!
job searching too!! we got this!! keep your head up
Love ur content! I hope your life will turn out the way you want 💌
Hi Lily! I might be late but I love your videos! I am actually in the same boat as you. I was fascinated by the template that you use in figjam /miro when you talk to recruiters and you need to answer their questions. I love having everything in one place. I was wondering if you could make a video about that and go more in-depth on how you organize the board? Thanks and good luck to you! Happy holidays 😊
there are many of us and many people don't want to work, just sit in a fancy office for a lot of money...my two hands will always be needed, I'll give this up, only time goes...
Hello! I am a Junior UI/UX designer, I have been looking for my first job for 6 months. I'm very upset, but I'm not giving up yet. I really like your videos, I watch them with subtitles. I wish you to find a job!🤗
Maybe having a UX partner benefit you and share ideas and get tips for interviews 😊
It gets warmer in the soul when there are more and more of us unemployed. HeЛлo from Russia. I am a former web designer who worked for a British company and am now looking for a job as a janitor
it is better like the ux

Hi!! I really like that board you made on the computer with your responses for the questionaries, what app or program are you using???
Hey Lily, thanks for sharing your job search process. I am on the hunt too. It is really hard. Sigh!
Nice to see you well🙂
Omg, I'm really motivated by your lifestyle and work. I would love to learn that skill and for the first time do something where I could express my creativity. I just need to figure out where to start, is it possible to learn everything on my own online or is a course/school necessary?
I’m job searching too but it’s so disheartening when you don’t have much experience at all to fall back on. Month 5 here we go
Why did you leave your old job? I thought you liked the company. Also, good luck on the job searching 🙏
You can do it
We need your Notion templates brrooo :D
Good luck Lily!! -Lily
Cool setup.
Thanks for sharing I love this video 🎉❤❤
Good Luck with the Job search. Also what keyboard is that ?
I am also finding this channel after getting laid off in november... The job market is less then desirable for tech right now.
Lily i am a Hvac design engineers fresher, 1 confusion which i have was - while answering about my big career gap of 4 yrs due to family reasons in my field of AEC construction as engineer what should i say to not sound unprofessional in any way ? The hard skills which i learnt in 2019 internship period along with software's skills are still relevant but if the hiring manager asked what more have you learnt then what is the best answer ? Can i say i have watched many useful lectures on UA-cam & attended webinars along with reading articles & books about my field, various sales, psychology books also..
amazing content
you are doing great
Hiii! I love your videos theyre always so chill and aesthetic and motivating!!! I wanted ti ask what program did you use to creat the board of possible cover letter replies? Also the soup recipe? looked amazing 😭
Thanks for watching :) I used Figjam it’s totally free. And the soup is the “15 minute spicy Korean noodle soup” on RecipeTineats with a few changes, like I added tofu, beef, mushroom and thin rice noodle!
@@itslilycameron Thanks for replying!😇 I thought it was FigJam but wasnt sure! I will deffo have to try the soup!!
Do you edit your own videos? It's so well edited i really like the chill vibe
Yes! Thankyou 😊
Love you videos. One question as a newbie applicant. So far (recent grad, 15 applications down) it seems like the application process is really just a bunch of form-filling. You mentioned that you like to limit the job search to the timeline of a normal workday- but that's a lot of time! My applications take me 20-30 mins per application. The whole process feels like a drag but I never felt like it was actively time-consuming (passively, yes, with all the waiting). All of this leads me to believe that maybe I am doing something wrong, but yeah, could you sort of ellaborate on what it is that is so time consuming? For context, I am applying for designer roles (not necessarily limited to UX, and I built a portfolio website for the better part of a month before applying).
I'm first !! Love you ❤ good luck 🎉
🥰
Gosh it’s so hard for me to take breaks during the job search 🥲
I feel so guilty, but at the same time by pushing myself too much I end up 1) still with no results 2) so stressed that I start to relax WAY TOO MUCH (to find balance in this life is so hard!!)
Thank you for your video, it was very inspirational to work consistently but with a doable schedule ❤️🩹🛐
what camera and lens do you use to film? thank you
Sony Zve10, I have an unboxing video all about it!
💞
💕
How's it going? Any update on the job yet? Good luck Lily!
Yeah! Update coming soon
Would u ever do UX Freelance
Yeah the interview I did was for a freelance position
Also job hunting!!
I graduated this September and have been on the search for a junior or internship game designer role since. I got pretty far with one company (it was down to me and one other person, they got chosen as they had more experience), and I got to the design test with another but didn't pass that stage.
Since then it's been rejection after rejection, even for internships (Playstation for example) and it's really getting to me now. I did do the LimitBreak Mentorship and I found that really helpful as my Mentor is a Game Designer within the industry and helped me revamp my portfolio and CV.
They told me that a lot of Game Studios slow down on hiring around Christmas as a lot of them shut over the holidays so there's no point in hiring someone before that, so I'll just have to wait until next year I think. :c big sad
i hate when companies just look for well experienced people... the ones just graduated or starting also need opportunities too u.u
@@min1549 so many game companies only want to hire mid level or seniors now and it’s so disheartening as I put so much effort into my degree and I’m desperate to transfer that over to a career but no one seemingly wants to take the risk on juniors any more!! :(
I know rejections can seriously get you down after a while, but I’m just trying to see them as practice 😅 I’m hoping you get a new opportunity soon, and Thankyou for watching ❤
@@itslilycameron I agree with you, rejections suck but they’re good practice. Just means I’ll be more prepared when the right job finally turns up!!
Loving your videos as always, thanks for sharing these parts of your life with us.
now im hungry
Can I get the recipe for that soup??
also did you live in somewhere in asia by any chance lol
It’s the “15 minute spicy Korean noodle soup” on RecipeTineats with a few changes, like I added tofu, beef, mushroom and thin rice noodle!
I have a lot of Asian grocery markets around me, they’re the most convenient and affordable ingredients 😊
Niiiice will give it a shot @@itslilycameron
I’m looking for a job too I worked in media industry with strikes and everything the past few months it’s been very hard , but I’m hoping I will have work in the new year and I just trying not to stress about things and enjoy Christmas and my birthday o month
Yes work will come, it will all work out and I hope you’re enjoying these cozy Christmas weeks 🥰
Sorry - haven't watched in a while. What happened with your last job?
maybe crisis?
Big tech layoffs!
So you flim all this with one camera? 😮😅
Hey lady! This video came up on my for you page - I'm a product designer as well, nice to meet you! Let me know if you want any feedback on your portfolio, would be happy to help.
Also trigger warning for the EATING SOUNDS around 15mins I can’t even watch it myself 😫😫
I can hear the hint of an irish accent
What happened to the other burger?
I made too much lol
can u please activate ur windows?
Never
I have been working as a junior ui/ux who has been working In my role for 3 months and have only been paid for 1 month 😢. I don't know what to do with my life
What??? You need to be paid for your work, how are they not paying you?
@@itslilycameron our boss just explaining about some issues with the bank, and I just feel stuck, do I leave and if I don't where do I find another job😭. I am just losing my mind
That’s insane they can’t just not pay you, please call your local Citizens Advice bureaux and tell them the situation they will give you advice !
@@itslilycameron Thanks for replying, Opening up has really helped me feel much better, And I wish you all the best in everything You do, and keep being the kind person that you are❤
Maam i need your notion template
Maybe future video idea 👀
I also neeeed@@itslilycameron
@@itslilycameron YAYYYYYYYY
@@itslilycameron desperately waiting for it 🤩
i'd love to see it too 😄
talking speed slow beautiful
are you ever worried that AI might replace your job soon? ...do you have an escape plan for that sort of thing, like another career that's a bit more AI-proof?
Nah AI is pretty dumb right now we use it for some parts of UX design but it’s got soooo many years to go before it’s actually useful in industry
@@itslilycameron ace!
@@itslilycameron I think AI is actually a clever & useful tool - yet, we (humans) are more. But like I said it is just a "tool" not a replacement at all. It is very good to start introducing it in work atm (saves up a loooot of time, truly). Opinion from a UX Designer :)
btw Lily, where did you get your desk monitor light? Hoping to add one when like that to my desk. Ty in advance ✨
But aren't you better off being self-employed? I mean with all your skills, experience, social media visibility and personal branding... Sorry if you already mentioned this.
UA-cam is definitely a side thing, I’d rather the benefits of a cool design team and big projects but I’m open to freelancing too 😊
@@itslilycameron Oh I didn't mean UA-cam, I meant as a ux designer. :) (I'm a self-employed webdesigner, hence the question).
