Thank you for the review, very useful comparisons of the distance. Please don't take this too personally, but please try to think of the heavy breathing next time, it was very annoying trying to watch the video and checking the comparison while listening to this heavy breathing into the mic. Sorry, but I think it's better someone said it. Have a nice day!
To me, for vlogging, 2 segments at 45°looks the best. We see plenty of you and also plenty of your suroundings. Good balance. At 90° (2 segments) we see your right hand and you look a little distorted. I definitely didn't like the distance (not extended) and angle at the beginning of the video. You are way too distorted, and we see your face from below. I'm impressed with the sound quality of your audio setting. We hear you perfectly, but also a little of the background sounds. I find it a little weird when I watch an outdoor video where I only hear the voice. Btw, how long is that stick? I bet that fully extended it reaches home 2 minutes before you do. 😅
LOL! Great input. I agree. I like the stick extended to 2 segments. It shows enough of the speaker and the background. I can always zoom in on Shotcut if I want to cut out some of the background since it captures it in 4K.
If there the surrounding area was more appealing than a city street, I think the extended stick would be better. I'm thinking about getting this camera and I wasn't thinking of using it for vlogging so thanks for showing that it could be done. Incidentally, does the x4 remove the bobbing movement from you walking in the frame or did you use a filter in shotcut or some other editor.
Because it is a 360 camera, it is more superior in its stabiization as compared to 2d cameras. I'm not saying it's totally removed, but it is better than the others.
You seem to be forgetting that you can hold the camera farther away from you, but then zoom in more, in post. Therefore, the choice is not about the field of view and the size of your head. The choice is between the distortion of your face and the final, unscaled resolution of the reframed video.

Nice sharing...
12:19 it's called torque or moment force, it's a very important concept we learned in civil engineering

Where your audio coming from? Did you use your mic attached to insta360 X4 or no?
This is the exact mic I am using in the video: amzn.to/4eL4RP2
