I managed to record around 12TB of video in helmet cam footage over the past few years, never really found the type of video I'd like to make, but I always look out for the perfect (least hassle) action cam, and Insta360 does seem interesting, especially knowing you can hardly miss a good shot or a scene you pass by, but...I'm just not sure about riding around with that broomstick on my bike. Idk. Awesome channel btw! 🤙🏻
I like the fresh and friendly way, how you talk and explain about the things. Nothing is exaggerated. Your driving style is calmed, careful and not reckless. I find that important, because there are a lot of riders out there nowadays, who think, they improve their click rates with risky driving maneuvers. By the way, you're wearing some really nice motorcycle boots. I subscribed to your channel now. Keep up that good work. Best regards from Germany!
There might be hundreds of creative channels, but mate, you moved a step ahead in terms of research, innovation and hardwork! Good luck mate for a bright future ahead where you would inspire a whole lot of generation in a productive way! Cheers from Pakistan!😊
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you see the effort in the videos and find value 🙏 thank you man!
You look plenty competent on those turns. You stayed within the lines, so respect for that. 👍
Amazing video bro, footage looks crazy!! I’d love to see an editing workflow video, I’ve been struggling with editing of 360 footage. Keep the content coming and ride safe 🤙🏼
wow... thanks for your explanation about the DJI mic. I've been playing around with it for a while for my motorcycle vlogs and kept having trouble with distorted noise. Thank you and stay save. 🙏 One more thing: I like your biker style.
i still have no idea what all that meant but i have to look into it more
Another upload letss go!!
What you said on FOV makes perfectly sense, being zoomed in look soooo weird and disorienting! Having wider FOV makes sense and much more comfortable to watch. Great vid btw 👍👌 17:18 - love that photo taken in the tunnel! 👌🔥
Perfect! I’m glad it made sense 🥲🤣 and thank you bro!! 🤝
lines looking good bro, sick video
Man the photos especially look so dope! Im acutely looking for a new bag at the moment but unfortunately the TomToc is not available here in Thailand. Nice vid mate!
Can you tell me which program you used to edit the license plate that looks so smooth 😃
Nice video 😊 Thx u for good contents for me to learn from u 🙇♂️
No problem! Thank you!!
Great video. just got my first bike and looking to do exactly this. Cardo + x4 + riding
Awesome video and great footage. I need one of these cameras asap. So versatile.
Thanks heaps man! The link in my description gets you an extra free motorcycle bundle kit👀🔥such a sick camera
@@JayJankulovski Thanks man, will check out your link for sure when I can buy it!
Thank you I appreciate the hard work
No worries!
Hey Jay love your vids hope your channel blows up soon in to the millions. Can you give me a hint on which chin mount you recommend for the X4 or would it be better to use a chest mount for pov vids…
@2:49 for anyone who also needs to see this special flip 30 times 😂
Perfect 🤣
Nice video, thx! Regarding your lines on the street. Most important, keep your upper body away from the opposite lane and enter corners from the outside. I don’t know if it was just the perspective but it looked like you’ve entered some corners already in the middle and/or the inside. That way your upper body ends up on the opposite lane or you might get „thrown out“ of a corner or you crash because of panic breaking etc. etc. etc. And oncoming riders will be thankful if they don‘t get spooked on their lane 😉
Ohhhh absolutely! Makes sense, yeah it might be the perspective but I know exactly what you’re saying! I was hoping for some comments with feedback on this so thank you so much! 🤝🤝
@@JayJankulovskiThere's a video by Motojitsu with the title "Immediately Improve Your Cornering On A Motorcycle". Check that one out. He uses a whiteboard to explain the lines and explain the "why". Lots of instructions just say "do it like this". Well that doesn't help much in making your own decision based on current circumstances (or current corner). It's hard to know when & how if you don't know what will happen (or not happen) and why.
@@CoppertopCruiser oh sick man! Appreciate that, I’ll check it out🙏
Great video and the first I've seen with amazing stills 📷 I'll give it 24 hours before I get one 😀
Thank you so much! The photos are amazing on the X4. So much creativity!
I understood 🙌
Nice video . Enjoyed it ! Keep it up mate. Nice bike 👌
Riding line tip - there are two styles. Fastest vs safest. You want safest right now.
Motorycle on public road woth blind spots / those hills mate - keep it away from danger. that case you want your line to be set so if you go wide / stuff up you have tones of room. Which is a simple thing. Keep where you have max distance and max view. So tight left turn, you want to be turn in on the curve wide, and come in to the middle of curve in the mid ( max view distance), then exit on left. Thus if you over turn..fine you closer to apex, under turn..fine your closer to right rside but safe.
Tones of motor videos. Keep two wheels down.
Thank you so much and also thanks for the feedback/tips!!
My old home town. Cool!
Love this vlog, one is on the way for me.
Amazing content my friend, which stick do you use on motorcycle shots?
Sick video
Wow! really cool video. not bumpy like the other videos I watch from other creators. Very cool but I hope you’ve mixed it with front shots as well. Thanks.
This was something nice to hear from your side regarding Insta360
Curretly I have a DJI Osmo Action3, but I plan to add some new camera angles, and Insta is my next choice.
Thank you for your thoughts on this and greetings from Romania 😊
Drive safe!
Hey great video as usual! I'm new to moto vloging/reels thing.I'm confused between Hero 12 & X4! I want good visual quality! what would you recommend mate!
Maybe position the camera a bit higher so we can see over you?
The hardest angle, even harder for naked bikes. Maybe if he adapts the single seater... That's how I've done at least.
Hey man, loving the content. Where are those pants from? And also, how did you get your hands on the all White torques?
..nice...whats your setting of the x4 when its mounted at the back of your bike? is it also on 'me mose'?
How do you cover your license plate and keep it locked in its position?
Hi! I have a questin for u, how do u blur ur plate for that long video? Is there a way to do it automatically? Awesome channel !!
Hey what do u use to blur ur license plate i use the 360 app to edit my videos so just wondering thx
What SW are you using to hide license plate? Good video!! I just received my X4 a few days ago here in Europe and still learning
That’s awesome!! I use Davinci resolve to edit so that’s also how I blurred the plates
@@JayJankulovski perfect, thanks! ✌🏻
Hey Jay ! Awesome vid as usual, love the vibe ! May I ask where you found your banana/backpack please ?
Thanks man! I actually mention it in the video, and it’s linked in the description :)
@@JayJankulovski Oh damn, sorry english is not my main language, thanks !
Just got mine the other day and I’m getting insane footage on rides. And the studio app is so complex.. hope i figure it out. Nice video tho bro!
What helmet speaker set up do you have? I have seen you tube videos where people have nice audio via bt to cardo, but mine sounds like your clipped audio. I wish i had some tech help. Currently running hero 12 to cardo freecom 1+. I dont understand 100 percent
ohhh man! that fall hurt me 🤣🤣
🥲🥲🥲
Nice, I see you reply to comments and I'm curious how you blur your licence plate, is it done in the insta360 app or after? Is it only a rectangle you draw since the shot angle is always the same so no need to move it around?
Never mind I saw you reply to another comment. So you also need to master DaVinci to do these videos. I was wondering about the workflow...
What did you use to mount your camera with that stick into your helmet? 2:35
Out of curiosity, would mounting the insta360 on a 4th-axis stabilizer provide any advantages?
Wow nice wish to have one😊
Great video, what settings or how much gain do you use the DJI Mic 2? And what program do you use to edit the audio? The same Davinci Resolve?
I'm also using the DJI Mic 2 but I can't get it to sound as good :/
Greetings from Peru, thank you :D
I record internally 32 bit float which allows you to turn the volume down or up as much as you want with really clipping. You can only do this if it’s not connected to the X4 via Bluetooth
@@JayJankulovski Thanks, the truth is I use that configuration, 32 bits activated and I record independently with the transmitter and in editing I match the audio
although the result I get is not so good, like the engine noise is a little loud
I will continue testing configurations, thanks again 😁
How did you get the dji mic 2 go into 32bit float without the receiver?
fire
Did you use any wind muff installed in x4 to
Get a bike sound while riding? Thank you.. i have x4 and i dont know how i can get rid of wind noise while
Riding..whenever i editing it ..thanks ..
Just the DJI Mic 2 inside my helmet recording internally then I synced the audio to the X4
How did you fix that exactly? is the one clamp of the motorcycle set enough?
Hey brother, All the footages you have shown are raw or colour graded ones ?
Would love to see some freerunning clips with this!
YES! Coming soon for sure!!
can we use dji mic 2 with 2 mics one for voice and one for exhaust sound?? is that possible??
How does it hold up with wind at speed? (have the same bike).
Hi Jay! What mic do u use to connect with the X4? Thanks!
5:35 He mentions that he used the DJI mic 2 velcroed on the inside
@@takvacs Ohh i see, greatt thanks!
Wow how did u do this photos man ?? How do u launch a photo at this speed ?
I'm having similar audio issues with my Ace Pro, the audio was fine for the first few months then suddenly there is a lot of static noises as soon as I start my motorcycle or go for a ride :(
come nascondere la targa? che programma usi?
What I don't like is you have to be on the mobile app to do data overlay (speed, distance, elevation) and you have to be on the desktop app to vibration smoothing. Neither does both and I need to do both. Has anybody figured out how?
How do you blur the number plate?
how do you make it so it doesnt fall? I can make it as tight as possible but after about 30-45 mins it loosens up and falls down
This is something I’m also looking into for some aerial shooting. Right now I’m looking into a combination of using a camera cage with a safety tether and thread lock. My mind is honestly blown that an action camera with a 1/4 inch thread doesn’t have a place on the camera for a safety tether by default.
What the name of external mic do you use?
for those who don't speak during the vlogs like I do in my videos but I only want audio from the motorbike, do you think it makes sense to buy the DJI Mic 2 and place it under the tail? so as to prevent direct wind from reaching the microphone and at the same time hear the motorbike exhaust well, or is it better to keep the microphone inside a pocket?
Yeah I’d recon putting the microphone inside a sock inside a back pack or pocket, I’ve done this also and the audio comes out soooooo good. Recorded with 32 bit float
Nice scenery 😎 is this in Sydney Australia?
Yes! It’s close to Sydney :)
Jay how much bitrate do you export on your insta360 ?
The highest bitrate possible 🥲🙏
@@JayJankulovski Thank you!
Nice ✌️
Hey man, how do you blur out the license plate? Is it possible with Insta360 Studio?
you can select AI object/person tracking
I blurred the plate with Davinci resolve manually 🤣🥲 I’m not sure if there is a way to do it in Insta360 studio
Greetings from Türkiye, you did a great job, followed
are your motorcycle trousers? do you have links?
New sub
Love it
Thanks heaps!!
Do you shoot in FLAT setting? or just reuglar?
Just regular for this video
I really struggle with deciding which camera I should get. Go pro 12 or the the ace pro? What are your thoughts on both ?
I have a video comparing the two, ace pro wins at night but honestly GoPro has slightly better image quality during the day.
Ace Pro functions better as a camera though, more responsive and trust worthy over the Hero 12.
Thank you! I’ll look into it 🙏🏻
Do u have a video of audio settings hardware etc ? Im sick of my bad audio 😭😭😭
My DJI Mic 2 isn't functioning properly when paired via Bluetooth with the X4. I've tried adjusting the gain from -9dB to even -12dB, but the result remains the same-my voice is consistently distorted (So loud). I have the mic positioned close to my chin, and I'm not speaking loudly, so I'm puzzled by this issue.
Here are the transmitter settings I've tried: lowcut set to ON (I also tried it with OFF, but the result is the same), gain initially set to -9dB, now adjusted to -12dB with no improvement, 32-bit mode ON, rec stop OFF, and noise reduction initially OFF, now ON, yet the issue persists. The other settings seem irrelevant. I'm at a loss for what to do next. Should I try connecting the receiver directly to the X4 to see if it yields better results?
Thanks.
Edit:
Oh!! 5:57 that’s what happens to me!! So it’s not possible to record using BT ok I didn’t know. And connecting the receiver to the X4 and then BT? Or it would be the same?
Yeah! The Bluetooth dji to the X4 works great when you have it attached to your shirt or something but when it’s close to your mouth inside a helmet with the wind noise and everything is way too much for it and it clips like crazy so 32 bit float is 100% needed.
And yes, it cannot record 32 bit float internal if it is connected to the X4 via Bluetooth. So I just started recording internally on the Mic 2 and the X4 and clapped at the start of the clip and synced it in post :)
@@JayJankulovski I would have liked to know that earlier since I lost quite a few recordings. Thanks!
could you do a tutorial on how to click photos like the ones you showed
In what area was this trip into
Hello, what model of helmet do you have?
do you have a audio setup?
I've recently got this camera. Have always used the standard lens guards that came with the camera, never tried filming without them. After watching this video are shocked at how badly the lens guards degrade the image quality. I thought the low quality image was something to do with me not selecting the best camera settings. But in this video you can clearly see the massive image quality difference of having lens guards on an not having them on. Are the premium glass lens guards any better? Maybe I'll just have to take the risk and go naked.
Excellent video by the way. I like seeing and hearing how your trying different settings and getting the best out of the camera. I think it is a camera that you have to be prepared to do some experimentation with to use it to it's full potential. Your experience and comments about the camera have been very helpful. The thing I love about this camera is the work flow, the versatility of reframing in post is a game changer. When your filming it allows you to relax a little but more and not worry too much about where the camera is pointed.
Absolutely right! And thank you so much I’m glad you enjoyed the video! More tutorial / settings and setup type videos coming with Insta360 soon!! 🔥🤝
subscribed...😜
So if I’m not going to use slow motion it’s always better to use 5.7K 30 fps instead of 60fps? And what about 5.7K 30 fps? Worth it that extra quality?
Crispy sexier slo mo shots are better with more fps. Yes it's worth it
off topic but.. what pants are those??
Whats the settings used for this video?
Muito top👊
What's your gear please? Hoodie and pants.
you said that cant record 32bit float once connected to insta360, so how u do it? thx
I didn’t have the mic connected to the X4 I just synced it with a clap at the start of both clips
@@JayJankulovski understood.. thx alot
HAHA bro was that stack video you? I remember seeing that years ago
YES BRO😭hate to say it but yes that was me
What mic are you using in your helmet
DJI mic 2, I explain how I’m doing it throughout the video 🤝
which mic are you using right now ??
In this video is the dji mic 2. But usually I have the rode lav go plugged into my ace pro
What the battery life like and what's the size of the memory card?
The higher resolution you record the faster the battery will deplete. And possibly get hot. Running a cheaper micro SD will cause the unit to run hot when recording speeds do not match. Honestly the higher the card the better. 1T seems to be the normal. Hope this helps
@@MichaelSniff-ys2rg It does thanks
How do you blur your plate in your videos though
Davinci resolve, manually…🤣😭
This view in my opinion is for highlights or transitions. I couldn't watch an entire video of someones back. I have only seen like 1 person who slightly moved the camera off to the side so we could actually see whats infront of him. If your going to do this view, I would try putting it up much higher point versus angled past the tail of the bike.
great point! i realized this posting my canyon rides
@@zxwave its a great view but it looks even better when it looks like someone is off to the side slightly behind you chasing. Now if your canyon riding, just be careful so you don't lose your cam when leaning over.
How you Connect cardo/Sena With insta360 Microphone. Create a video please
Okay, I will in my next motovlog keep a look out! But basically it’s the same as pairing to a phone for Bluetooth. Hold the Bluetooth paring button on the Cardo/sena then go into the ‘AirPods’ looking icon on the X4 select it then refresh and wait for Cardo/sena to pop up. Make sure both products are up to date with firmware :)
Maybe it dont work because i habe x3
I have been struggling linking my cardo to my X4 and this video says that you discussed how to do so in your last video. As far as the youtube that i'm seeing on my phone I can't find that In your last video.
Please assist.
Teriffic work on everything too.
I discussed it being a feature but didn’t mention exaclty how to do it.
I’ll quickly try and explain here.
You press the Bluetooth button on the Cardo for 5 seconds so it goes into Bluetooth pairing mode as if you were gonna pair up a phone.
Then on the X4 swipe down scroll across and click the AirPods looking icon. With the Cardo now in blue tooth pairing mode hit the refresh button on the AirPods page, wait and the Cardo should pop up. Then click it and it’ll say if it connected successfully.
Make sure to have both devices updated with the latest firmware! Hope this helps!
And thank you so much, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🙏🙏🙏
I've seen the Air POD Button. Awesome. Thanks.
Ultimate combo is X4 n Osmo pocket 3.
You aren’t wrong… you’re gonna like the next video 🤝
Hi, how much space do I need for a 6-7 hours ride?
I have a 512GB micro sd and that gives me like 8-9 hours on the X4 I believe.
@@JayJankulovski what about battery? can it stand for that long?
What kind of boots is that?
Dainese torque 3 out in white 🤝🔥
Hey Jessie,
As an international student can i afford a biker under $6000 in Australia 🇦🇺. Btw amazing video dude
Yes dude! Lots of great bikes under $6000 in Australia. Mostly second hand 125cc to 300cc range 🤝
I wonder how much better it would be if it were a tad bit higher
Just curious, why blur out your license plate? Isn’t that info that would already be publicly available?
I'd suppose to avoid being doxxed.
Yeah just for a bit of extra privacy. :)
The TomToc is good if upright. Not so good for sports bike, especially with an Alpinestars Airbag on under your gear.
