Can’t believe how nervous Joyce is on the show. Extremely. We all get goosebumps but only in the beginning. Then we just roll in. She was very nervous. But on stage when performing in Threes Company she was a great performer besides John and Larry.
That explains why she was afraid to fight for more money on the show, unlike Suzanne. The women deserved to have equal pay, but society was sexist back then.
@@DeepScreenAnalysis No, the pay they deserve is equal to how popular and hard to replace they are on the show. Ritter was the star, and there was no way to continue the show if he left. The series proved they could continue on without Suzanne. They could've continued on without Joyce as well if they needed to. Joyce was smart not to get greedy like Suzanne did.
@@BLTKellys Pretty simple, they offered him that money because he was valuable to the show. And he never threatened to shut down or disrupt the show and the careers of the other cast and crew to get more money.
ernesteinstein, never understood how they could cease making Three's Company in order to replace with Three's A Crowd, which sucked, obviously only lasting 1 season.
@@BLTKellys Nope. It stayed in the top 10 for 3 years after Suzanne stopped regularly appearing. It didn't drop out of the top 20 until the final season.
It's amazing to me that it was suggested that she was jealous of Suzanne Somers and her fame. Joyce DeWitt is so shy and gracious here, and she doesn't appear to be an attention monger. She enjoyed being an actress.
The 8th season introduced her new nose, but Johnny wouldn't ask her about that. ( I liked the old nose more). Also he didn't ask if she wanted her own series.
talk show appearances are mere publicity. everything is prepared in advance and agreed with the guest. you'll never see a talk show host ask rude or uncomfortable questions cause nobody will want to go to them if they do.
Oh wow, poor Joyce, she was so very nervous and insecure, compared to her amazing and strong "Janet" acting on Three's Company, along with Jack, she made the show rock. Regardless, Joyce seems like a sweet and good lady. That said, I have always loved and continue to love Threes Company.
You can see here what a timid person Joyce is, who can’t stand up for herself. John Ritter knew that she would never ask for equal pay to him and that’s the way he liked it. Suzanne was somebody who did see the inequality though but unlike Joyce wasn’t going to lie down and take it.
Your comments on here are ridiculous. You didn’t know these people. You have no idea what John Ritter was thinking. Salary negotiations would have been discussed and worked out between the production company and network and the actor’s management. It’s not high school, it’s a business.
I’m not sure , see the thing is they were all very young and trying to make it in the business for different reasons. I got the impression if Joyce spoke up she may have been out to so maybe she it was best not to. In any event it was the producers that took most of the blame. That’s how I saw it anyway.
@@suzannec8400 John Ritter refused to ally with the two women to get them a pay rise. The cast of Friends all got their big payouts by banding together as a unit but John didn’t care about equality, and Joyce was too timid to stand up for herself.

She wasn’t trying to get them raises. She was trying to get herself a raise and a cut of the backend. She did not approach Joyce at all regarding getting a raise. Suzanne admits she handled it wrong. I always thought Joyce was so sweetheart and absolutely stunning
I met her once, she was absolutely lovely.
1:37 Johnny hit the nail on the head. She is very underrated actress. She was a terrific straight woman.
And look how, when Joyce starts to cry, Johnny immediately steps in and starts talking. Pure class and skill.
Still my crush since the show ❤
Joyce was on one that night. So gorgeous and electric! Super rare footage!
Love Joyce! Thanks for posting this. She was so underrated on “Three’s Company”.
Joyce is very touchy- feely.lol.i like that.😊😊😊❤❤❤
Humble. Funny. Anxious. Cute. Joyce DeWitt is a real person, not just an actress.

Awww… Joyce was so sad here because of the way they were ending the show to give way for 3s a Crowd. She had to be gracious throughout 😔

God this was 1984 and looks like it was 200 years ago.
Threes Company survived Somers departure well. It ran around as long without her as it did with her.
Not true. It lost millions of viewers.
@@BLTKellys it still did well enough to run for 3 full length seasons that had no involvement from Somers at all. Thats a success.

Johnny was right,Joyce was and is a terrific actress. I love her genuine modesty when complimented.
Johnny had a production company. He could have given Joyce her own show.
Yeah but you still need a network to buy it.
She wouldn’t have done it. She was offered several things after Three’s Company that she turned down. She chose to go back to theatre.
I WILL MARRY Y❤️U J❤️YCE THEN AND NOW !!!!!
Joyce DeWitt is a lovely woman. My Mom used to buy up Leggs pantyhose in the 1980's.

had a crush on her. and her lost at birth sister, martha quinn.
Never noticed this resemblance but…yes!
I love her bubbly quirky personality. No disrespect to Suzanne but Joyce was my favorite girl on TC
She dated his lawyer for a while which is why they knew each other so well.

She was traumatized to learn that the network had secretly developing a spin-off for John Ritter. DeWitt and Priscilla Barnes were just dumped.
I loved the Scream
Sorry, Joyce, but the wedding in the apartment looked so cheap.
His lawyer had an affair with her. Johnny Tried but she wound up up with the lawyer

He always made jokes about all his ex wives.and the alimony he had to pay. I think he was unmarried at this time and making a joke related to that.
