Cher's body language says a lot. At the start of the interview shouting distrust, arms folded is a big indicator, leaning back, sitting away in the chair, her body almost turned away and shoulder up, laughter is a camouflage in a way, it looked like she wanted to sit in the furthest chair when she came close, yea not good vibes. I think that's one of the best guest appearances on Letterman. I can think of a few others that were also amazing, but this it for sure in THE TOP TEN!!!
P.S (edit) - Cher did "Moonstruck" one year after this interview, and I'm sure glad she decided to focus on acting, because that's one of the greatest "rom-coms" of all time. Perhaps "Moonstruck" can even be counted as among one of the best films of all time regardless of genre. For me the film, the script, all the performances in it, how it's shot, etc. is one of the best artistic expressions of what LOVE really is all about in all it's various facets.

Took them as a couple, quite a while to understand that the initial love they had was still there. Truly their business but it is Cher and Sonny and we got to share in their acceptance of the love they had for each other. Frankly,
once you have a child with a man that bond is still there after a divorce and life goes on. Only exception becomes if the Dad does not do right by the child and deal with his kid with love. Sonny did that. At the end game they knew that idea and I think Cher truly mourned his passing.
