Cool video man, that's some helpful information. A friend and I were just discussing what kind of sleeping bags to get at the surplus store this morning. Those bloopers man hahaha! Take care friend.
Lol appreciate you watching! Couldn't help to include a few bloopers haha
Nice video - thanks for sharing
My pleasure!! Appreciate you watching :D
Ive had mine for about 2 years and just finally used it for the first time a week ago. I unzipped it and stuck my feet in the foot box and rotated it around so I could cover up with the top half like a quilt. Was a pretty warm night so no issues there
That’s what I do on the warm nights too. It’s been a consistent 90°F here in KY all summer and supposed to be until Friday of this week. We are set to go camping on Monday since it will be cooling down to a high of 70
Well done on the video and thank you 👍👍 I'm 5'4 and female and I bought the large so I have plenty of room. I have an SOL escape bivy too which I can use inside the bag so I could get well below the 50° mark 🌲⛺🌄
Thank you! :D Sounds like a great setup
Love my aegismax Nano and Nano 2 which are the upgrade of these (box baffles 👍) Hard to beat for value!
Absolutely true :D
I'm trying to find a budget sleeping bag for my 5 year old daughter. This is the one I'm leaning towards. Thank you.
My pleasure :D
Love the transition at 1:37!! There’s an echo though and the autofocus wasn’t working right for some reason. Love your content bro!!! Getting better all the time!!!
Living and learning. Appreciate the love!! Problem is I was using natural light and my camera on auto iso to account for the light getting darker or brighter out coming through the window so when I got up it changed the iso. The auto focus also was on me and then changed to the background because I was gone so when I got back it had to refocus. Both of those made it a little off. I recolor graded it and decided to keep the transition in anyway for practice lol. Just got a subscription to adobe products this month so it's a steep learning curve. Was using iMovie before and now what I can do in editing is limitless, but obviously it won't turn out great in the beginning lol. Trying to learn something new every day. Appreciate you watching!
I hear you man!! I’m super green and just got lumafusion because I’m using an iPad. The learning curve is steep on that too!! Onward and upward bro!!
Absolutely! Best of luck on mastering your new software!! :D
Good review. Yes, you were right. It's "lying" on your sleeping bag (unless you are a chicken). And for one second, I though you were about to cuss..."How do I wash this D......OWN sleeping bag?" Looks like a nice bag. I am super cheap so I bought a Teton 20 degree synthetic bag for like 50 bucks. I'm testing it out this weekend (or last weekend or a month ago, depending on when people read this comment) in the Adirondacks, where it is (or was) expected to get down into the upper 20's overnight...**Gets out his liner and prays** - Anyway, I knew I didn't need to watch a gear review of a sleeping bag, but I enjoy your videos so much I watched it anyway. By the way, tell your lovely bride that she has decorated your house very well...good color combinations and tasteful decor. You have a beautiful home. That way, she'll know she has contributed in a significant way to your videos! Hike on!
Thank you, Mark! You continue to make my day!!! :D I got your email and am reading through your writing. Really appreciate you watching and I can't wait to hear how your trip is going! I will pass on your kind words to my wife, Bridgette. God bless!!
great explanation on this bag
Thank you very much! Good budget option for warmer weather. Which we have had in KY for the last 8 months XD. It's 93 today
What about the down staying in place? Lots of complaints about budget down bags focus on the down shifting / clumping. Thanks for the fun review!
Thank you! I haven't had a problem with down shifting
I have a agiesmax bag but its rectangle and does zip all the way open. I really like it. I am 6 foot 260 lbs and i fit in it. About the same on temp.
It's a great budget option
I also have a jacks’r’better quilt
Not a budget option lol
I’m about to buy a 3lb sleeping bag/quilt hybrid that’s long and extra extra wide. Synthetic and should keep me warm on the coldest day even if it’s wet out. Sleep system is the number one item for camping and number two for backpacking next to proper footwear so I figure I’ll carry a pound extra for guaranteed warmth and comfort. Just don’t tell the ultra lighters. Lol
Lol I wouldn’t dare tell them. I use a 2lb 14 oz Nemo Long Wide sleeping bag for 3 season weather. It was the best piece of gear on my thru hike
I’ve been using the black version for a couple of years now, (I’m 5’11”).
I use it as a top quilt in my hammock.
I found it to be “warm enough”, (I didn’t die from hypothermia), down to about 45 degrees, and comfortable above 55 or so...
For the summer months, it’s a great bag! For winter or shoulder seasons here in the PNW, I’m looking for something warmer.
LOVE how lightweight and packable it is though! It’ll be hard to give that up...
I use a long wide Nemo disco bag in the winter. 15°. Down side is it weigh 2lbs 14oz lol
I turn mine and use it as a quilt😂
Same here in the summer lol
What is a good value 10°-20° bag? One that I don't have to take a loan out to buy and would be good for extended trips?
My wife uses a Kelty Cosmic 20. I found one on amazon new for $105 right now. Doesn't get much cheaper than that for a 3 season bag. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014JQA9VU/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B014JQA9VU&linkCode=as2&tag=jeremiahstrin-20&linkId=26448c7d672734fb9a8ef9ec16931b1e
I think we paid $170 for hers.
Aegismax makes NANO2 @ Aliexpress, $110, is rated to 32F/0C. 624gm/22oz/1.37lbs. It's very warm, I love mine.
I've been looking at this and all the reviews are several years old. Do you still have yours and do you use it and would you buy it again. Thanks
Yes yes and yes. It’s a great summer bag
Top 10 BRS stove!
Ooh that's a great one!
Silly question but if you stook this in a three season synthetic sleeping bag could you get 4 seasons?? 🤔
It's possible. Depends on the temp rating for the other sleeping bag
@@JeremiahStringer thanks for the response
Great video. I feel so confined in sleeping bags. Hey, I dropped a new video today too.
You stick with a quilt? Sweet! I’ll check out the vid
Jeremiah Stringer Hikes yes I usually do. I do have a zero degree sleeping bag but it’s rarely cold enough here for it.
Looks like you'll have to do a little traveling and put that zero degree bag to work for you :D
I love the smile and joy you have doing this video. You remind me of a Preacher conducting a Sunday morning service, lol. I shall call you "The Backpacking Preacher"... so kidding. 😉
Great review. I subscribed to your channel. 😊
Aww thank you, Rebekah!! :D
@@JeremiahStringer you're welcome. 😊
yikes, 50degF, 45! I have this bag and I wouldnt take it below 55f MAX. and to that end I find it's a sweaty bag. For some reason, I sweat in this thing and while I still take it on those 60-ishdeg nights, I dont typically get a good nights sleep with it. For washing I have done the nikwax, downproof and down wash treatment at the laundromat. It came out fine, but at the end of the day, marginal increase in loft over just giving it an hour or two in the drier on low out of the box. My wife does like it however. Overall I think it's a good value, just know it's limits.
I think it may be the material that it’s made of that makes us sweat a little bit more
Could it just be that you're a warmer sleeper? One should NEVER get hot to the point of sweating in the first place, as that sweat is precisely what is making you cold (having to heat that extra water drains a lot of heat). Have you tried it regulating your temperature down a bit to avoid sweating to see if that helps?
Will i be warm at 40 F? Or 5 C
I would be really cold
"this looks like an alien!" I cracked up.
Here to have a good time 😂
@@JeremiahStringer that's what makes it great. Thank you.
Libolt Adventures my pleasure! 😊
No draft tube for the zipper.
Truth
are you a magician? 😊
I only know camera magic lol
That squishes down pretty small!
In the summer I have way too much room in my 65 L bag
I don't recommend at all this product... First of all, the seller (Offical) send the product with multiple damages, there was no customer care at all, as the product was damaged, I went to check the Down Fill quality, it's extremelly bad, most of them is a poor and thin synthetic material, AegisMax uses fake filling...
Mine is pretty good. Sucks you got a crappy one :(
@@JeremiahStringerI own 2 of these for over 6 years and they are awesome
