- Here it is, here is what I have to say about the FV4211 in @WorldofTanksModernArmor. It's a tank that is great if you're in it but terrible if you're fighting against it. Wargaming really do need to re-evaluate this one because it is breaking Era 2.

Great rant and here is my 2 pence on the subject:
I am a cynic and, as far as WG are concerned, everything is done with the intention to generate revenue for the game and to frustrate the free to play players to such an extent so as to drive Gold purchases either to buy premium tanks or to convert into free XP.
When Cold War launched in April 2021, with the slick advertising banner of the Abrams tank, everyone wanted the M1s. So off I went down the Western Alliance tech tree line - we all soon discovered the silver economy was crazy and the upgrade prices were STEEP. Then when you got to Era 2, you were placed in a pretty average M60 and you had face off against ... T-72s, who had better armour, speed and alpha. As a veteran player I had an abundance of silver and free XP to cope with the upgrades and the tech tree grind - and made it to Era 3 unlocking the M1s. Looking back at that now, I had it relatively easy!
What is the situation now? Well, particularly after the British invasion season in Dec '21 which gifted both as level 100 season rewards, the dominant tanks in Era 1 and 2: the T95E3 and the FV4211. They are also closely followed by the Enigma (era 2) and the NM-116 (era 1) - again given as level 100 season rewards. The result is (and I think this in intentional on WG's part) a Cold War matchmaker full of these tanks - both with CW players and WW2 players grinding for silver.
If you play the Cold War tech tree, then you want to get to Era 3 and access the M1s, Challengers, Leopard 2s especially (they are after all iconic tanks, accepting T72s as well but you get them in Era 2). It is of no surprise to me, referencing Era 2, that the tech tree US, German and British lines leading to those Era 3 tanks are particularly weak/average compared to the premiums and even the light tanks (who are mostly armed with ATGMs). The M60s/Centurion/Conqueror/Chieftain/Leopard 1s are just not competitive vs the T-72s, FVs, Enigmas, lights and other premiums (special mention also to the formidable WZ-122). I think that is a deliberate model to frustrate the (new) free to play player on the road to Era 3. Maybe - and I don't know as it is just a hunch - the player base across US/Europe are more likely to buy gold to skip past Era 2 tech tree. I went through both the British and German Era 2 lines to get to Era 3 - it was painful, you rarely finished top 3 and the number of FVs back then was crazy!
To me tanks like the FV4211 and Enigma "fit" in with the frustrate model...and helps WG drive more sales of Gold. Clearly it is an immediate cash strategy and sacrifices long-term health of the game through encouraging new players into the game and keeping them with better content, making premium time subs the most viable option (for new players to stay in the game and for WG to grow revenue). Right now the answer to the question do you want to play in Era 2? is go buy some Gold and purchase the FV4211, and that's what we all agree with after seeing the Chieftain 120 - either way WG win. We need more people to say: buy premium time, learn the game and the best way to do that is to play the tech tree (and don't skip past any of it).

I just picked up the FV4211 for 175,000 free exp last night. I was like now it is an even playing field as I smiled. You are now going to see more of these in Era 2. I agree with that Era 2 is broken. I did my grind through the German Leopards. It was brutal trying to fight the 4211's. My M60 grind has been terrible. I got the Era 3 and it was so refreshing that even in a stock lower tank like the Leopard 2 I could penetrate any tank I ran into.
It’s also amazing at how many times one team has five or six FV 4211s and one team has one, two or none. Guess which team usually wins.

The reason the fv is good is cos WG gave everyone the chance to own it for playing the season , so everyone can own a good tank and the ww2 players are able to play CW without panicking when they can't hide and be invisible.
Fvs armour Only works when you have positive RNG, when you have negative rng blocking missiles becomes a crap shoot and it gets penned easily.
Fv is easily killed by good players and when good Players are in platoons it gets butchered.
I no longer play my fv as I consider it a boring ,big hit box for good players.
I just started playing era 2 with the magach 3 I got. I quickly realised that basically the team with more FV4211s will win pretty much every time. It’s almost impossible to penetrate unless you hit it in the back or side
Even side at 90° it bounce sometimes, and turret ring bounce 2/3 of times, its just a noob tank for low level
I hit a couple right on the corner of the tire and got 2k damage several times. Doesn't always work but for some reason it just does sometimes

I want to play this game so badly, but it's hard to enjoy with stuff like this...
Artic Hiss player here in era 2. You can still rack the FV's from the front. You kinda gotta "swoop" em in there upper plate. It's tough, but its doable. 3k clean. This isn't to say I disagree with Riki. Hes got valid points.
I think one way they could balance the tank is to have the additional armor like the side skirts and the 150 mm lower plate have it own hp pool that when it hit 0 it falls off stop counting as additional armor and this could be implemented as a new mechanic to spaced armor and era for cold war
Well, here in 2024, seems like things haven't changed for this tank. One thing I have noticed though is the team matching system balanced each team to the other and if I play in an m50 for example, then there will be more of these FV4211 on my side, which then steam roll the other team as I in the m50 will not only barely be able to keep up with them, but useless, as the other team will also have these heavy monsters, which the m50 even at any range range cannot harm them. *I was looking for info on the FV4211 and found your vid had all the info I needed*

It's amazing how bad things get when there is a silver reward bonus. All the WW2 players come to CW and play their 4211s. Just making grinding TT tanks, with weaker penetrations and low stats, a little more painful.

I've never seen WG Nerf a premium tank. It's sort of a policy and premium tank buyers effectively have a contract when they buy one. The way WG solves this when it happens in WoT Blitz is with selective matchmaking. Both teams get the same number of players with the OP tank. The Annihilator is a good example of this. It's a tier 7 that could easily be competitive in tier 10. Select the Annihilator and you'll always face one on the other team. Since this produces longer queue times for those tanks, along with the prospect of facing equally equipped opponents, players will be less likely to drive them. Problem solved.

I've been playing for the last 8 years and just because some tanks are perceived as OP needs to be nerfed all the time - why can't we just leave it as it is and get the players to find out it's strength and weakness and of course find a way around it( thank you for showing this in your many videos) - The Fv4211 is definitely one of those tanks that are without weakness ... it's very strong but yes it can it can be nullified in any battle - a little bit of patience and perseverance does work 😊

@@annexedcrown4039 Mainly the people who play them, out of around the 100-150 of times I have encountered an enemy FV4211 player whilst in mine and lost I think have happened once, or twice at most. The biggest problem I have in mine is fighting 6-8 tanks alone whilst my team have steam trained off somewhere else which is nearly every over game.
Move it up to era3.
Needs a nerf to the frontal armour, I have my second mark on it but find it boring to play!
I would like to remind everyone that war is hell. The idea of having perfectly balanced and equal tanks sounds terrible to me.

i'd say do a combination, maybe take away half the armor on the side-skirts and remove half if not the whole spaced plate on the lower plate but with no speed buff to it what so ever since it can already hold down positions either way due to the excelent turret and upper plate armor. I myself am playing the leopard line, currently am on the 1A5 with 449mm pen and i still have a 50/50 chance of penning. Not the mention the fact that for missiles, the only real frontal weak spot is the lowest part of the lower plate (where there is no spaced armor) or through the drive wheel when the tank is slightly angled. I myself don't have many problems penning the FV now that i am experienced with it BUT it did make it hard on me with stock guns and personally that tank will just make new people avoid cold war/the game in general since the FV is almost like a stop block for any low to mid era tech tree tank.
This thing is just a noob filter and auto aim proof. Every experienced Player will show you how "broken" the armor is. Sure its bouncy and/or trollish but its nowhere near op. Weakspots are drivers hatch even for he like m60a2 and rockets can easily pen the Front road wheel if just comes in slightly offset. Turret roof is also easy pen for rockets if they coming down (javelin technic). Leo's can easily pen the turret front just left and right of the cannon with premium ans sometimes with standard rounds if got a pen highroll. I had many good games in it but this thing just lives from its fear factor. I think the hybrid 120 is the superior tank if you are more experienced 🤷♂️
I’ve had so many games where the soul reason we won/lost was because of the Fv.
And I totally get the whole being the last alive against one too. It sometimes seems an impossible situation when your playing something like the Tiran 6 etc.
FV has weakspots if you know where to hit.

I think WG needed to make a noob friendly tank for CW, so that everyone could have a good game, regardless of skill. More dumbing down of the player base IMHO.
I'm a n00b and that's EXACTLY why I bought the FV4211... as a crutch to help me learn the game.
Getting killed 45 seconds into a match sucks and doesn't encourage interest in the game.
Don't like getting greased by FV's? Then just get one for yourself. Or get a Scorpion lol

The tanks n00bs are given to start out with are slow and weak. Getting killed right out of the gate doesn't encourage one to learn the game.
I'm still learning and the FV - as it is now - is a great tool for that.
The Era 2 meta with the FV4211 at the top is easily fixed if they release more Era 2 lights that people want to play. You can see this in Era 3 where no tank has effective armor and mobility - and yoloing - is king. You don’t need to nerf it. The FV’s armor is easily countered if the Neanderthals in Era 2 knew how to flank such a slow and plodding tank.
Balance should happen before the sales, not after, unless a refund is offered. Like buying a car and then having to return options you purchased for it.

World of ships recently compensated people when they increased tiers on some premium ships. I didn’t do it, but the offer was cool.

Leopard can pen it straight through its turret with gold, and upper plate with standard, so can most era 2 mediums, its not as op as it once was, I'd rather face this than a wiesal. That thing is totally annoying, I can hit the 4211 and pen most of my shots ,just hitting the wiesal is hard , and then you can bounce of the rocket launcher.
The only tanks I found that can reliably pen the FV4211 front armour are the leopards with premium rounds but other than that, they’re pretty much impossible to kill when you’re in front of one.

In fairness WW2 had the same issue with a few heavies at one point the IS4 was unstoppable
FV4211 is fairly easy to take down loads of weak points. What you cannot do is rtrb which most players do now. If its hull down dont bother move and re adjust.
T72 not king of the hill as no gun depression they are mobile fast break though tanks with high alpha.
Scorpion is the most broken ERA2 due to Speed and ability to rtrb everything with small hit boxes.

I think the weasel tow ruins the game. They just rum around wreaking havoc. You can't see them & it's almost impossible to target & hit them while they are running around like that. Plus you can't ignore them cause they hit you, reload & circle back, hit you again & you're knocked out.

its the only tank thats any good keep in the game as it is its a gift i did like him now i think he is a stupid to go on and on its sometimes a rubish tank for some players who arnt very good at wot means you get a good game now and then make era 3 better then
I bought one I don’t play it much but on the other hand I bought it and Thay would have to give a refund if they were going to do a buff on a premium just like the armadillo and war gaming probably won’t want to do that or bring out a tank that will Pen it and make more money lol

FV4211 is fine. I'm a veteran player and I rarely play it. If you have a good gun and good aim it does have weak points.
It was a season tank, a good reward for season completion! Dont play season have lesser tank. Complete season get a better tank. Buy one and ya have the best tank! Repeat each season.... Sounds fair to me.

Please leave the FV4211 alone, this is just one man’s crusade against a very good tank, to ruin it, that has been beat in battles, well over a year ago now, and yes I do like this tank, I have won and lost in this tank, so enough of this vendetta on the FV4211 and leave it along.

I think if it went to Era 3 it would be owned. It's too slow and the gun is mediocre.

I typically play the BMP-2 in era 2. The FV-4211 is a pain to deal with, almost every time. The only easy places to hit it are its lower plate or rear with the ATGM. And 90% of the time the lower plate hit doesnt do that much damage. It needs nerfed to at least some degree.

Can we ask WG to do a 4211/Chieftain 120 Hybrid? Have the FV’s armour, with the Chieftain 120’s speed and gun? I’d sell all my other Era 2 tanks 😆

I have played WOT for 6 years I can say that the youtubers are insanley on to the nerftrain do you think that that is the biggest problem with WOT?There will always be tanks that are released and seems like OP or UP but that is the same way with every game put out there.A character A gun A tank A player A ship .The most important thing is to have FUN.Some will say that WOT is a competetive game NO it is not there is NO such thing and will never be one.Many players do think that grinding every tank in the game is a good thing but why not just play one tank that you like and be good in that before you rush in to the never ending grind.OK I will share some personal because I know some will look at my stats saying I am trash,First I have one EYE.A been in a big accident so slightley disabled to BUT I enjoy the things I do and WOT is one Legends with ships are second and my pain can have some release just playing and have fun I am the one you do not want on your side in the game because I dont care about competition or stats I play for pain release.
