I love the hotel where you're staying! Thailand looks like an exciting country to visit. And the food scene! Matt, for someone who doesn't like spicy, you've been eating a lot of them lol. Molly, that 62nd floor view is scary. In Chicago, we were on the 94th floor of this Cityscape and I stayed far away from the glass walls lol.

Really a long way to watch but it kinda worth it! It is somewhat informative and interesting a kind of place to visit. Bangkok Thailand was really just one of your impressive destination so far, with the street foods, the sidewalks, amazing motels and the views but it kinda expensive to stay in motel I guess. Good thing you guys can afford to stay for such a long period of time and eat delicious foods...

Thais are the amazing people as a whole that I have ever met. I have visited 40 countries. I was stationed up country in 1963 and have been back two more times. Although it has grown and is more modern the people are just as beautiful as ever. A true Thai Fan from Indiana USA.

We're gutted we didn't go to the aeroplane market/bar, it's amazing how quickly Bangkok comes up with all these new things! Apparently they're opening one in Manchester as well, maybe it's a trend 🤣 Great video, we always wonder if Thai people have some sort of bingo card everytime a British couple says "two Changs please!"

Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) was an old temple dated from late Ayutthaya period. The huge stupa that is so prominent when you ride along the Chao Phraya River was originally not that high or beautiful. It was rebuilt successively by King Rama I and completed in the reign of King Rama IV. After so many years the stupa was decrepit and rebuilt again during the late King Rama IX reign.
There are so many temples in Bangkok but tourists are normally recommended to just visit 3 temples: Wat Arun, Wat Prakaew in the Grand Palace and Wat Pho nearby about 1 km away. When President Obama officially visited Thailand and he had time to visit only one temple, the American embassy recommended Wat Pho due to its several outstanding aspects including the beautiful reclining Buddha and the carving of traditional Thai massage stone stele.
Further down along the river bank, there is a huge wholesale flower market which starts its business late at night until the next morning. There, you can practically buy all kinds of flowers from all over Thailand. About 100 metres down the river, there exists Suankularb high school, the oldest government school in Thailand. The school has a famous long building painted in bright yellow and more than 100 years successive students have studied in this building. The school is situated at the foot of the Memorial Bridge (King Rama I bridge). It was the oldest bridge built across the Chao Phraya river. The steel bridge used to be able to raise the two middle spans to allow tall ship (navy ship) to pass through as the old Navy headquarters was at the old palace of King Taksin near Wat Arun. I saw the bridge raised several times as I was a student at Suankularb high school 1965-1969. The practice stopped when the Navy moved all the ships down south at the entry of Chao Phra river from the sea. Opposite the school there used to be British Council office and library. Adult's annual membership fee was 50 baht, student got free membership. I got my English practice from this library by reading Graded Books and listening to English long tapes. I believe that British Council library was moved to Siam Square in the late 70s.

Good contrasts, expensive v affordable. Opposite the V hotel is the Evergreen, great standards for a quarter of the price. only one stop from the Suvanabhumi rail link as well. Quick and cheep way to get into central Bangkok from the airport.

Hi Matt & Molly. Great video. I've not travelled long haul since my 4th visit to the Philippines during the third qtr of 2019 to visit a lady I met online. We are still in contact. Would love to go back to Thailand. It's been a very long time. I used to work at Thomas Cook Holidays (Tour Operator) selling long haul holidays. It must be during the 90's when I went on an educational trip with a group visiting Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Phuket. Will definitely watch this video again when planning my trip.
