Fun fact: Alex Garland, the author of The Beach lived in the Philippines for 6 months and was inspired by the island of Palawan. He then set the book in Thailand because it is more well known to back packers and is similar to the island because of its lime stone cliffs and crystal clear waters. He thought it would be much more relatable to the readers.

It took a bit of time to view this video only because a couple of years before my son passed away (34 yrs old) he'd sent me photos and videos of doig exactly what you all are doing, especially when Matt jumped in the water near the cave. I know he had the same passion about the natural beauty of these islands. It made me feel intense grief just looking at your video.

That’s good news there’s a direct flight from Manila to El Nido with Swift air. Wonder when did it start? It’s not easy and fun to go to El Nido from the main capital Punta Princessa. Though there are stops in between but it’s tiring to be in a van for almost 5 hours. I was there in 2017 and also did the private tour. Yes, you get to visit more islands and mostly by yourself ‘cause I think they bring you first to the farthest islands of the group in that way, you’ll encounter no or few tourists. With private tours, they give you more time and you’re not in a hurry to leave. Also, you have the option to choose your lunch whether meat or vegetarian and how it’s being cooked. At least in my tour last time. Love the islands and the emerald green color. Thanks for the video Matt and Molly. Thought your next videos will be in another country. Enjoy the islands of El Nido 😘

Also I find it more picturesque when there are more boats around. the islands and lagoons, otherwise its too dead and looks like a ghost town.

El Nido is nice to visit, I did not know they had direct flights there - that is such a relief because a 6-8 hours van ride from Puerto Princessa is a nightmare :))))) But travelers be ware - It is not Filipino prices there - everything is 2 to 3 times more expensive!

hey guys! Please visit amanpulo island. A beautiful and truly a paradise island. A white sand beach! Its quiet expensive island to stay because you will ride on a chaufer to go to amanpulo. But amanpulo is a truly paradise beach resory island in the philippines. A semi private island!!! You must visit also siargao island. So many foreigners in there. Retired and living in siargao!
The sea shores are public domain. So that private resort doesn't own the shores in that beautiful island. They may own the land inside that island but not the shores. I hope someone will contest in court on what that private resort is doing which is barring anyone from enjoying the shores of that island.

Dude I'm living in the Philippines and yet you're living my dream to go to the best places in this country such as El Nido. Also, I recommend that you find Bacardi Black or Blue Label in those local stores there since you like strong drinks HAHAHA anyway, your yt channel is one of the best travel videos I always watch.
